It definitely feels like an older theater that could probably use some updates/upgrades. The food we ordered was pretty good. I got the pretzels and hot cheese dip, which was more filling than i expected. The pretzels were soft and hot and a good size portion. I even gave my last one to the boyfriend to finish. He got the chicken quesadilla, which comes in a pizza box that is bigger than it should be. We definitely thought there would be more quesadilla in there than there actually was. But he said it tasted pretty good. We thought it was going to have the reclining seats, which it did not so that was disappointing. But I guess we should have confirmed that first. I also thought you could order the food from your seat, but you do have to get up and order at the counter....and they do deliver it to you. Overall, we probably wouldn't make the drive again, but if you live in the Edinburg area it's a nice treat to have the dinner theater.

Without hesitation, one of the attendants came over and gave us a jump. When I tried to tip him, he kindly refused and simply told us to keep coming back. It wasn't about the money--it was about helping someone out. Small town folks truly have the biggest hearts, and nights like this remind me how grateful I am for simple kindness and genuine community.

This Cinemark location only has 10 screens but if they're offering something you want to see it's worth the drive. They have updated the theater since our last visit. Now they feature comfortable recliners with electric controls. Fewer seats, but more comfortable. When you pay for tickets (in person or online) you choose your seats which are numbered. So you can arrange seating ahead of time if you have a group or family rather than wonder if you can all sit together. The theater and restrooms were clean when we were there (a matinee). Employees were not especially friendly but efficient. I would definitely return to avoid the crowds in McAllen.

We'd grab Whataburger nearby, maybe even sneak in some Dollar Tree snacks beforehand, and then head to the convention center to do a little shopping or if we had no ride, Kohl's and Walmart was a close second! There's a sense of nostalgia that comes with going to this movie theater, so it will always be a five-star experience for me. When you don't live in a place anymore, you treasure it even more when you get to experience it all over again. There are many other movie theaters in the Valley now that are exceptional, and I tend to gravitate toward those more often. But this particular theater will always have me reminiscing about my high school days, going out with friends and enjoying the little arcade. And don't forget the $5 Movie Tuesdays. Now that was a value!
