The only snafus were: 1) when our vent in our bedroom starting leaking condensation onto our things in the middle of the day. Thankfully, our friend was home taking a couple of work calls, so he called maintenance. And 2) I got locked in and couldn't leave as I was running late for dinner, because our key cards that opened our apartment and the gate to get out all stopped working just on that gate. Bit of a freak-out moment for me, but thankfully, phoning the front desk brought someone out to help me get out.

Breakfast was in the restaurant and there was plenty of cereal, fruit juice and cooked items available which was cooked to order. Delish! The bar prices are expensive. The meal we had in the restaurant was lovely, service was excellent. The prices were expensive. £45 for 3 a la carte courses and £25 from the other menu. You could pick and choose off both. All the staff we came into contact with were great: friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

I couldn't help but recommend this place for an evening's meal, it's not on the cheap side but for a special occasion worth the visit if you are looking for good food in nice surroundings.

We opted for the suite which is very spacious with its own small lounge area. The bathroom has a large spa bath making it the perfect room for a relaxing stay. The only down side to the room as that although it was advertised as air-conditioned, it actually only had an air cooler and the room was quite hot. I should point out that i think a/c is no longer stated on the website. Evening meals are by pre-arrangement but are very nice. Breakfast is great with lots to choose from. The area is particularly good for walking and cycling. The Old Town Hall website has details of things to see and do in and around the area. This guest house offers fantastic value for money and is well worth a visit!

Last year we did a two week road trip through the UK (England, Scotland, and Ireland), this was by far the best B&B and by far our favorite city! The location is just outside York and close to the park and ride so very convenient for visiting the city sights without the hassle of driving. Unfortunately the hotel restaurant was very disappointing with tasteless food but there's nowhere within walking distance as an alternative (apart from a pub with potentially even worse food) so we were forced to eat lacklustre dinner two nights running. If visiting York again I would stay in the city centre where there's plenty of good restaurants to choose from. It's a shame because the hotel was great.

There were two small beds, a kettle with tea and coffee, a television and bathroom with shower. The bed was so comfortable! Also, the large windows can be opened to let in breeze. There is only one lift, therefore you may need to wait a tad. But, there are stairs with the plushiest carpet, if mobility permits. Breakfast was included in my stay and they had a wonderful continental breakfast in the dining area near the lobby. The staff were very lovely and served coffee and tea. Jon and Lyndsay are a young couple but have a charming old fashion sense of customer service. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them, they always remember my mobility isn't too good so arrange a suitable room. The hotel is on the main Kings Road just a few yards past the Harrogate Conference centre. The rooms are spotless and well kitted out. Flat screen TV, free WiFi, shampoo and soap, tea coffee water and biccies all available in all rooms. There is a residents lounge with big screen TV and chilled honesty bar. The garden has a seating area for sunny days which was perfect on Friday for a couple of beers in the sun. They have a very nice breakfast room which over looks the coppice. Breakfast time can be requested rather than being set to strict times like most places. Breakfast itself is spectacular, wide range to choose from with all quality locally sourced ingredients. If you need a hotel in Harrogate then try the Fountains. You will not regret your choice.
