For a while,…read moreI had been wanting to learn more about Islam, but I didn't grow up in an Islamic household or know Arabic. My background is rooted in Catholic traditions and because of this, I was honestly hesitant. I worried about unintentionally offending anyone or not knowing the proper etiquette. One Friday evening, I finally gathered the courage to attend topen class for reverts and those who simply want to learn. I dressed modestly and covered my head out of respect, still unsure of what to expect. Before I even reached the entrance, someone in the parking lot noticed I looked a little lost and kindly asked if I needed help. Almost immediately after, a sister warmly introduced herself. When I told her it was my first time ever stepping into a mosque, she didn't hesitate and she introduced me to other sisters and to Jamaal, who all welcomed me with open arms, patience, and absolutely no judgment. Their eagerness and kindness made me feel at home in a place that was once unfamiliar. The community at IIOC truly embodies hospitality and compassion. The center also offers so many resources, educational classes, and support for those wanting to learn more. I only wish I had started this journey sooner. If you're considering learning about Islam or whether you're thinking of becoming a revert or simply curious I cannot recommend enough that you just take the step and show up. You won't regret it. I certainly haven't. Thank you IIOC!

Been wanting to visit this mosque since it's so close and just wanted gain more insight to this…read morereligion and population since we are literally neighbors. Since their website had little info, I found them on Facebook with listed events. I had wanted to attend their open house but saw that they had a community dinner that was open to everyone and free. I had emailed them just to confirm attendance and number of people attending. When we arrived, we were greeted immediately by a friendly mosque goer who gave us this vast history of the religion in a nutshell and in under 30 minutes. He gave us a brief tour of the grounds too and gave us DVD about Modern Muslims/religion. The other members of the mosque were also friendly and welcoming. As the dinner was being prepared, we offered to helpe him set up table cloths. The dinner was served to us and the plates were heaping with rice, chicken and salad. Wish I got their recipe because it was super delicious! I even got seconds and noticed it was almost all gone. We finished the meal off with fresh fruit and cake. Overall, it was a nice experience and highly recommend everyone to visit!

Wow I'm a fan. I was looking for a mosque to attend for Jummah because I was in orange county for…read morethe next two weeks. I came here thinking I was running late and would not find parking. In fact, I found a decent spot really close. The parking lot does fill up fast, so beware. They do have a security guard in the parking lot, I know not every mosque includes this. The men section is downstairs and the ladies section is upstairs and you can look down and see the sheikh or imam give khutbah. I liked how they have a neon sign with the prayer times in the front of the masjid. The khutbah for jummah is very well delivered. It is informative and nicely put together. The mosque is very clean and spacious. The ladies section sometimes is much smaller and this one had a lot of space and was brightly lit. The bathrooms are a bit small and wet, but that's what happens with everyone doing wudu. I would come here with wudu done if possible. It looked like downstairs there are shops outside so if you wanted food or something you could get that, but I didn't actually buy anything so not so sure. Overall, will inshAllah be back next friday!
