We had the baba ganoush with tabbouleh, and the fish of the day (whole sea bass) which was cooked to perfection. My boyfriend ordered plain ol' english chips with the fish - much to my disappointment - but we did dip them in this delicious yoghurt sauce that came with the fish so that made up for it. Love this little gem down Trinity road, looks are deceiving as it has much more space out the back than the cozy front of house would have you believe. Best to make a booking if you can but if it's a weekday you can usually get a table for two before 8pm.

My brother recommended getting quite a few of the sharing meze plates and then a main to share between two people, so we did exactly that. We ordered mostly hot plates - my faves were the chicken livers and the vine leaves. The vine leaves were some of the best I've ever eaten! The aubergine dip and hummus with lamb chunks were incredible, and so were the little lamb sausages!! Wait, I think I've listed all of the little plates that we ordered. Okay, so everything was pretty much my favourite! We had ordered a mixed grill for each couple to share and again, the food was delicious. I'm so full right now. The service was great, the staff were really attentive and friendly. Another awesome little touch was a sweet succulent coconut cake that came WITH the bill. Free cake?! This is my kinda place!

Located a short walk from South Wimbledon underground station, this is a deceptively large…read morerestaurant serving authentic Lebanese cuisine. The interior is a modern, stripped back take on middle eastern decor, but with traditional imported wooden furniture. There's a small seating area the front and a larger area behind the kitchen. The food is familiar Lebanese cuisine with hot and cold mezze for around £5, from which you could construct a satisfying meal, with grilled and roasted meats, fish and stews for the mains. We chose the vegetarian menu for two at £35, which provided a choice of 7 starters, followed by moussaka and rice. We had baklava to finish. It was a great way to introduce my dining companion to this type of food and everything was wonderfully tasty. There's a similar non-vegetarian menu for £35 as well. They're not licensed but you can bring your own wine, and they don't charge corkage. Service was polite and efficient, and they waited until we had finished the starters before bringing the main course, so it felt unhurried. The bright decor means it doesn't really tick the box for a romantic evening, but it is a good choice for groups or families.

Abdullah, the main cook, has good taste in Lebanese music with respect to traditions of Fairouz and Marcel Khalife - and he knows the Beirut pop beats of Nancy Ajram as well. A respectable establishment that I shall frequent from this day onwards. My standards with Lebanese food are high, and Aya has met the very highest in food quality. The only downside is that this outlet of Aya is a small "hole-in-the-wall" concept, and has a few small tables. Better for takeaway.
I've never been to Morocco. I've been to London a few times. It's all relative, I understand. When…read moreI was much younger, my typical London stay would always involve a West End theatre night followed by Moroccan food. Had my heart set on North African food as I've been to East Africa and I much prefer Northern African food over East African food. So there was my qualifier. Having said that, we came to Tagine for a special meal to celebrate a very special occasion, which we'd often do abroad as of late, mostly in France and Germany but this year we ended up in the U.K. Balham is an awesome neighborhood. So many chic shops but they were all closed for a Sunday evening. Took Northern Line to get here and it's a short 3 minute walk from the station. Ordered the chicken tagine, mixed mezza for two so everyone had something to try, I think it's an easy solution if you are not an expert in Moroccan food. Then finally tagine lamb. It's named after tagine, why stray from it? It's a BYOB. So bring your own wine. Please. The dessert was on the simple side but they provided Moroccan tea for the table on the house, lovely and tastier than the Lebanese version. I liked it more. The restaurant played hipster dance music from Morocco and I must admit, it was quite happening. I wish I took down the record name, I'm sure I'd be able to find it on Soundcloud later. The most notable thing about the restaurant besides the very good food was the decor. The mixture of beautiful lighting hanging off the ceiling was mesmerizing. I took as many photos of the lighting as the food. Over the course of last 18 years since I've been coming to London, finding good Moroccan restaurants has always been one of my must to-dos. This did not disappoint. The entire restaurant had a very authentic ethnic feel to it, which in my mind is something I've not seen before in the States. It's certainly not touristy like the West End, so it was easier to enjoy the meal. When in London, find unusual things to eat. Don't go for fish n chips, try Moroccan. Guaranteed to be far more superior here than San Francisco. Sorry Aziza SF.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely and relaxed and the decor matched the theme of the restaurant beautifully. The ceilings are covered in gorgeous colourful chandeliers that you would find walking through a market in Morocco, if fact sitting in the restaurant I kind of felt that I was back in Morocco! We ordered houmous and bread for starters which was lovely and for main I had lamb tagine with cous cous (I can't remember the name). My friend had the fish tagine and both dishes were served beautifully. The portion sizes were really generous too! The only down side is that they don't serve alcohol, so I would pop to the local off licence or Sainsbury's and grab a bottle of wine before going there. Also whilst we were there, it was the birthday of some other group, and the waiters put on some traditional music and played a drum whilst bringing out the birthday cake! I really enjoyed my visit to this restaurant and already have plans to take my parents!

It's a small, family-run Lebanese restaurant, offering an extensive range of middle-eastern dishes at very reasonable prices. Long banquettes with cushions and moorish lamps add to the ambience. You can opt for a range of mezzes, or try something more specific from the menu. Plenty of vegetarian options. I'm not a great fan of Lebanese red wine though, and would suggest something a bit more mainstream. The service is friendly, efficient and attentive. Expect to pay around £20-£25 a head for two courses with wine and coffee.
