Have been told about the burgers at the Beach Bar Radotin for a couple years now…read more
Since I am a FT resident of the CZR after I married a CZ girl, we have spent a lot of time in the CZR for the last 16 years. We regularly go back every year or so to attend to family and other business. We are always on the look out for new and delicious experiences in Prague dining... and lunching too.
The Beach Bar Radotin is co-located with Beach Club Radotin, about a 15 minute drive from Prague Centrum. It was very easy to find via Google Maps and even easier with Google's directions.
Parking can be a bit dicey, use the secured paid lot across the street for 8 kc per hr (about .34 cents). Parking in the lot is free on SUN.
The place is what one might expect from a SoCal beach burger stand adjacent to white sandy beach volleyball courts. Families abound in the area enjoying the summer sports including a swimming pool.
Open air kiosk ordering, open air view-able kitchen, open air bench and chair seating. Beer and wine plus full bar appear to also be available. Prices overall are pretty nice for the food considering the good quality of ingredients used.
I must say the place lived up to the hype I had heard. One source said Beach Bar Radotin has the best burgers in Prague. Another source said they had the best burgers in Central Europe. Both advance reviews were really close to being right. What very slight miscues experienced were not enough to take away from what excellence is offered and served.
Had my adult son in tow on CZ this trip. Upon suggestion of a good friend from California, he ordered the MobyDick Burger... Rick style with jalapenos on the side. Massive in size and taste, prepared on a hot grill just as a burger should be with the meat crusty on the outside and very juicy inside. BBR seasons their meat too while many of the higher end "burger bars" in this part of the world do not. All the toppings were first quality, fresh and tasty. The owner even brought out some of his home made mayo omachka with finely chopped okurky. Extra nice with the hot, crispy fries they offered.
To consume a burger tthe size of MobyDick, my son smashed it down, cut it in half and had it eaten before I could finish my "normal" sized BBR House Burger.
What I really liked was the thick slab (not strip) of CZ bacon and saute'd onions with their version of a burger sauce. The sauce was also onion based, but predicated on their home made mayo, and I think Maggie seasoning. Very nice on the burgers.
If you are from the US and want a burger of a much higher quality than normally found in the CZR (I'm looking at you "The Big Burger" stand at Karlsteijn Hrad and your HORRIBLE three times deep fried excuse), make Beach Bar Radotin a burger destination while in Prague.
