I had a good experience with the technician but trying to get my FFR results. It has been 2 weeks since the procedure and they keep promising me last week that it will be done. Considering it's for my heart it is disconcerting that no one has reached out or signed my results to the doctor. This is uncalled for something that is considered urgent!!! I can't believe how horrible they have treated this situation . I would never use any of their facilities again. It has caused me anxiety and depression!!!! Came for mammo and ultrasound told they were back to back they lied. I waited 45 minutes for ultrasound and when I asked I was told they lied. I will find another Akumin to go to. How sad!!!!! read more

If I had other options to choose from I would never go back to this place. Unfortunately I'm limited by my insurance company. Spent 45 minutes on the phone to make the appointment and was told I did not need a referral, confirmed my appointment and then get to the facility only to be told I need a referral. Akumin is a medical facility that does x-rays and a variety of other scans. They did my chest x-ray as a walk in. At the front desk I was told about 30 minutes but it was closer to 2 hours. I had an appointment for a bone density test. It was pretty quick. The facility is clean. The employees are polite and friendly. I seemed to one of only a few clients speaking English. My doctor received the reports in an appropriate length of time. I'm happy with the quality of care. I am glad to have an alternative to the company that took over DSA. read more

I hope my review in the future improves when they acknowledge that not all MRIs are performed the same way. No where on my order from university of Miami did it say I had to hold a plastic syringe between my teeth for this test. The test needed to be performed for pre-op evaluation fora bi lateral jaw joint replacement. They just need to see what the joint looks like... we know it's bone on bone with no cartilage by way of a CT scan. And next we need an MRI. I had all appointment and waited 45 min to even get walked back and then waited another 15 while they were "finish up" with someone else. The tech would not even come talk to me. I was advised no MRI would be performed trust by the tech's assistant and BAM! They took someone else right away. I'm sorry. It seemed a bit discriminatory, that they could not perform an MRI on someone with different needs... who uses a power wheelchair but can transfer on her own. There was absolutely no reason the MRI shouldn't have been performed with a reasonable accommodation, smaller syringe or tongue depressors. Akumin needs to work on accommodating people with different needs... not just rushing someone out because it was clearly a busy day. And I had to take time off from a full time job to not receive favorable care and attention as I'm trying to plan a very stressful surgery. I'll show next time with an order with notes about reasonable accommodations and up bring my advocate with me. I had a routine Mammogram but my info out of state had not arrived before my appointment. I was afraid that would happen since it was out of state order and images. But actually the mammo tech stayed on top on it with all parties concerned. I was doing my part to get it there by phone and she was working her end. Anyway it worked out and the appointment ended up a little later Then when I arrived the staff was so sweet and professional the most easiest medical appointment I have had in a long time. Let me start off by saying that the nuclear technician Sarah S and the CT technician were kind and patient with my elderly mom. My issue is with whoever makes the appointments. Originally, I booked two appointments for my mom one after the other because her mobility is limited. I was never told that my mom needed to fast for either test. Then someone called me on Saturday night to confirm the appointment and mentioned fasting. The appointment was for 11:00 because fasting was never mentioned. I then changed this appointment for 7:30am. That is when the scheduler said that my mom could not have both tests on the same day. After a nuclear test, she needed 48 to clear the stuff out of her system. So I made the second appointment for two days later. Mind you, I had driven 3 hours to be with my mom and having appointments two days apart was a great inconvenience for me and my mom, who has trouble with mobility. I then got mom to her first appointment and was told that both tests could have been done on the same day. I was given the wrong information. So I went to the front desk and asked about changing the appointment for the following day (they were booked for the rests of that day). I then had to shlep my mom back in the pouring rain to get her second test. The worst part is that she became confused and was convinced that she took the wrong test. Your schedulers need to get their act together and know what they are talking about. As for wait time, we hardly had to wait at all - so that is a positive. read more

Got to appt at 9:15 for 9:30 appointment checked in, sat for 15 minutes until called up where I was informed that I had a $300 copay, where I said it was incorrect and the young lady told me that if I was billed that I didn't have to pay it, i left confused. They are horrible here do not go here if you value your life. They are rude disrespectful and they do not care if you have cancer they do not want to help you they delay any appointments that you have to have and tell you that you can't see them until next year. The way they treated me was ridiculous they made me wait a week to get a call back regarding the fact that I needed to get a biopsy immediately according to my doctor and to their Doctor who read my report. They didn't care about my crying they didn't care about my worries they tell me shalantly oh well guess what we can't see you till next year so do you want to make the appointment now. How ridiculous is that? It's bullshit. Then to get your records they don't even answer the phone for that you have to go down there wait an hour to two hours in their lobby just to get your records it's ridiculous too. This facility should be shut down or at least terminate every single employee they have there and get new ones that actually care about human health and well-being. I will never go back to this facility I do not recommend this facility to anybody if you need to get imaging go elsewhere like Rayus or somewhere else like that.
