We are in Innsbrook for a few days, so we decided to take a break from traditional but delicious Austrian food and try some Greek food. There are not so many places offering traditional Greek food here so I'm so happy we selected this restaurant. From the outside it doesn't look like much but the inside is lovely with plenty of seating and nice decorations. The service was attentive without being smothering. There was several waiters available throughout our meal. The food was amazing, this is from someone who has worked in a Greek restaurant. We both ordered platters with mixed meats and fries on the side. I have to say that the Lamb was so tender and delicious. My husband said it was the best Greek food he has ever had and I have to agree that it was pretty spectacular all in all a great place to have a meal. Highly recommended. It is a short distance from the river, which also makes it a nice location. read more

The food was stale and horrible. The meat was undercooked was the fish . The salad had more potatoes than any greens .

Lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious! We were there for Christmas dinner. The staff was attentive and helpful.

Most excellent food, service, and ambiance!!! Sakes was our waiter and he was so great and entertaining. He recommended a fabulous red wine that we truly enjoyed. We asked him what we should order and he suggested the item on the menu that serves a minimum of two. It came with a platter of assorted appetizers for course one. Then a beautiful Greek salad for our second course. Third course was a platter of assorted meats and calamari. We ordered pita bread with this as the bread is not included. Finally, desert was tira misu. (Sp?). Great hospitality!!! You eat at your own pace. Oh and when you first sit down they bring you a shot of oozo (sp?). My husband and I had such a GREAT experience we came back our second and last night in Innsbruck and brought our niece and her boyfriend. We ordered the same thing. They thoroughly enjoyed it as well. You MUST go to this restaurant. Ask to be seated in Sakes section. He's the best!!!! read more

Well, the food is good ... but the service was far from it. It didn't have anything to do with Greek fine dining, but had more the flavor of a Gyros Grill at rush hour. The interactions with the staff can be described as awkward at best, starting with the host and continuing all the way through with the waiters. So is the food worth it you ask? My husband and I are traveling on our honeymoon and found this gem while we were in Innsbruck. We loved it so much we came here for dinner both nights we were in the city! Spectacular food and the owner was SO kind and welcoming to us! He recognized us the second night and gave us dessert on the house for our honeymoon. This is a great restaurant, lots of choice. I usually get the Musaka, like an eggplant lasagne, and it is so so so good, highly recommended. The flatbread, wine leaves stuffed with beef, and grilled halumi cheese are such good starters! This time, I got Paidaka, which are lamb cutlets with potatoes and green beans. The lamb was lovely and tender, and the fried potatoes were delicious but wished there was a sauce to dip them in. I did not like the green beans however. Unique dishes not found in California. Delicious, generous, reasonable w competent service. Dolma appetizer had meat and rice covered in a tasty. Ready sheep cheese. Mild, smooth texture, but distinctive in a good way. Entree was large skillet filled w a tomato sauce, scampi, fish, and Cali Mari also w large dollops of sheep cheese. Ignore apple maps and just be determined. read more

If you have a craving for good Greek food, with dishes you recognise from your holidays, look no further! Akropolis has an extensive menu, with highlights being the platters for 2 or more people. Food is of a good quality, and as with most Greek restaurants, portions are enormous! The complimentary Ouzo is a nice touch too. The staff - attentive, but could perhaps do with learning the concept of 'service with a smile', and the guy who clicked his fingers every single time he left the room got pretty annoying after he paced in and out for the 20th time or so. The decor is a bit dated and the lighting low, so that the end effect is that the rooms look a little dingy. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking to impress on a first date. NB There doesn't seem to be a problem getting a table if you just walk in, but by 7pm the place is really starting to fill up on a Friday and Saturday night. read more

Absolutely love the place! Every time we are Innsbruck, we dine there. We always choose Meze menu, which includes cold/warm appetizers, salad, sea food, meat, side dishes, desert sampler. It's presented as a 4 course dinner. Absolutely delicious!!! read more

Tourist trap. We had an expensive and less than mediocre meal. Flavorless food, industrial salad dressing (we also found plastic in the salad), pushy service and they charge per piece of flat bread. They offer a free ouzo at the beginning of your meal for obvious reasons. You wouldnt find food this mediocre even in a tourist trap in Greece. read more
