The Grand Tarabya - Old Fashioned | they make the Mad Men 50's version with soda, but getting the original with Rye whisky wasn't difficult.

Exceptional hotel!!!…read more At a mere $150/night including breakfast, this is a STEAL for an amazing, luxury hotel with stunning views of the Bosphorus. *In fact it's on sale for $135 at time of this review. Location: Situated right on the European side of the Bosphorus, the views are BREATHTAKING!!! The only drawback is you are quite far away from the old town and tourist attractions. That said, expect peace & quiet....and beautiful scenery. A 30min taxi ride gets you to the Blue Mosque and all the other tourist attractions no problem (watch out for that Istanbul traffic!) Rooms: Amazingly large - even the smallest room they offer is huge by many hotel standards. No expense has been spared: floor to ceiling glass windows, private balcony, all marble bathroom, privacy screen from the bathroom into the bedroom and high end amenities. Overall an amazing hotel where I'd definitely stay again. Top luxury at an incredibly affordable price. Tip: Traffic is always a pain in Istanbul and lateness often the norm. So give yourself plenty of time!! Especially getting to the airport.

The staff was VERY nice and always helpful to any issues we had. They were also quick to respond if you called and requested something from them. We stayed in two types of rooms since we were starting and ending our tour with this hotel. We got the suite on the first pass which was huge and very spacious for three adults. On our second pass we got a standard two queen room which was still very spacious for three adults. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The bathrooms weren't quiet up to build quality that were use to back home but regardless very clean and spacious. Although the location is quite a distance from all the big attractions, I still conciser it to be a great location as thee are multiple (cheap and yummy) grocery stores, and money exchange banks all within a few minutes of walking. I think there may be a mosque nearby because we could hear the call sound from our room every time it went off, it wasn't too loud as we all slept through it easily. My only real complaint is that the staffs English could be improved, but regardless we had no issues!

Additionally, despite there being a thermostat in the room, you cannot control the temperature of the room. I turned the air conditioner 'on' but it never actually turned on. I woke up sweating which is never fun. I will say, the breakfast was fantastic
