As a dentist, Dr. Nashid is one that really listens to you and your concerns. I am generally a nervous dental patient, but with him, I am always at ease. A particular thing that I really respect about him is his "conservative approach" to dentistry. In general terms, this means that he isn't going to recommend you undergo procedures unless they are actually necessary. I recently had a routine cleaning at a different dentist (because I am away for school). I was told that I needed six fillings redone. When I came home and checked with Dr. Nashid, it turned out I only needed one taken care of. My daughter and I had the privilege of visiting their beautiful modern office yesterday. After a…read morethorough examination, and to my surprise, the dentist, Dr. A Valiushka, advised me to not get any dental work since I did not need it. She did, however, took a few X-rays of my teeth to make sure they were healthy. We also took advantage of our visit to get X-rays taken of my daughter's teeth. I was advised to get a night retainer and they proceeded to scan my teeth to get me a new and proper retainer. The other great ladies in the office where as delicate as Dr. A Valiushka, being very aware that most people don't like having any work done in their mouth. I must say, these are the most delicate dental workers I have ever gone to. They will be our "Forever Dentist" from now on. And we don't even live in Canada! Have I mentioned we also had fun?

I am also running away because I don't like that strategy that many clinic have to evaluate how much money your insurance covers and schedule random checks threw the year to get that money event if that's not necessary.

Dr. Adibfar herself is nice but comes across as phony. 3 things especially bothered me: 1) When she was working on my mouth her hair was down and kept dangling onto my face. 2) She and her assistant kept placing their instruments on my chest as if it was a tray. 3) I experienced a lot of pain and sensitivity following my composite fillings (which I have had before and never had problems), so much so that for 2 weeks I couldn't eat or sleep without the help of NSAIDs and her only explanation was to hand me some free Advil and tell me it would decrease with time. 6 months later I still have sensitivity issues.

This office is basically staffed by angels. Every single person was excellent. Leanne, the office manager, is so kind and welcoming and efficient, and she responds very promptly. As soon as I got back to my office I saw that she'd already sent me my full receipt via email! Stephanie, my hygienist, and Dr. Aisling Whitaker, my dentist, are both gentle and compassionate and ethical and thorough. They carefully reviewed my medical history/profile, which I was invited to fill online prior to my appointment, and approached my appointment with my previous experiences in mind. As weird as it sounds, the whole cleaning and exam experience was just very...well, relaxing. I got to leave the office and stop thinking about work for the duration of my appointment. What I like most is that their practice is full of integrity. There was no forceful, pushy selling of things I didn't want or need - which was my experience at the last dental office I went to and why I was looking for a new one. They pointed out things that weren't immediate concerns but should be kept an eye on, and told me about options I might consider down the road. The second thing I appreciated the most is how thorough they were. Dr. Whitaker walked me through my xrays and photos to explain the health of my teeth, gums, and jaws, section to section. She even pointed out a weird growth in my sinus on the 360 xray that needs to get checked out. Luckily, I already have an appointment with an ENT - not about that, but now I know to bring this up to his attention - but even if I didn't, she did mention that she can write referrals to dental surgeons or ENTs to get it looked after. She even asked me to ask my family doctor to forward them any CT scans or other diagnostics my ENT does, so that they are all on the same page. I really appreciate their collaborative approach, how they will coordinate with your other health practitioners to ensure you're looked after from all perspectives. I can't recommend them enough! (Also, I'm really embarrassed to add that I can't remember the name of the person who took my xrays and photographs, but she was great, too. Very kind and patient and she had really steady hands.)
