I called and emailed this…read morecourse a month prior to our annual boys golf trip to book to back to back tee times the afternoon of Friday, July 25th and I received an email confirmation that the tee times were booked. when the 8 of us arrived at the course that afternoon, the two young kids at the pro shop said we did not have a tee time, there is a group event going on, they didn't have enough carts for us anyways and we couldn't walk the course. they refused to work with us and left us without an afternoon tee time in the middle of our long weekend golf trip. I was beyond frustrated with the lack of corporation we we received and unwillingness with right the wrong especially because the course looked like a ghost town when we arrived and we were shocked that they couldn't squeeze us in, just an absolute joke!

The centre offers pretty much any class or program that you can think of. Best of all the facility is entirely family friendly: the pool complex has a waterpark for the kids and programs run for all ages. In the summer, there is plenty of outdoor field space as well. It certainly is a boon for the whole city to have a facility like this.

As an avid animal enthusiast (AKA Crazy Cat Lady), there is always that moral struggle between wild animals in captivity, and promoting awareness, preservation, and just simply getting to see these amazing animals up close and personal. With that said, 5 stars certainly does not imply perfection in this situation. I am not too sure how I managed to not know of this place, having spent a few summers with my aunt who worked as a year-round Kindergarten teacher in Innisfail. So when my BF mentioned that he would be interested in checking it out, I was totally up for it, and SUPER excited!! I wasn't too sure what to expect as we walked in through the main entrance. It was pretty busy as the debit/credit machines were apparently not working. Thank goodness we had cash, so we were able to pay our $20/each admission price and walk right in. There are options available to get a more intimate experience with certain animals (bears, cats, beavers). We elected not to particulate in these, as we have a very cautious appreciation for these kinds of animals (either that or I have watched one too many episodes of Fatal Attraction on Animal Planet). Nonetheless, the enclosures are set up in such a way that you can get pretty up close and personal with these animals anyway. Several enclosures had feeding machines where you could pay a loonie to have some food fall out close to the gait and watch the animals eat (the camel in particular seemed to be a big fan of this!). We had to run back to the gift shop to get change (would have been nice if they would have mentioned that when we came in, but no biggie). Many of the animals got close enough that you could touch them through the gait. For myself, this is awesome - but I would recommend that parents keep a very close eye on the little ones, since those tiny limbs can fit pretty well through the fences, and you just never know what could happen - this isn't your typically zoo where there are concrete barriers at every enclosure to prevent anyone from getting close to the animals. Several of the animals were visibly stressed out, and were pacing back in forth. We would try to admire these ones from a bit farther away to try not to bother them as much. This is pretty common, I would say for zoos/wildlife parks. After listening to the 'caretakers' speech during a big cat show, it was clear that they have a sincere passion for education and wildlife preservation. They clearly care deeply for all the animals, and seem truly dedicated to improving the welfare of these amazing creatures throughout the world. In my opinion, the experience was totally worth it, and I wouldn't hesitate for one instant to make visiting the Discovery Wildlife Park an annual tradition.

The prices are reasonable for a day out with the family that proved unique. Having gone on a rainy day and having a 6 mo old with us, we rented a golf cart... So worth it!!!! It allows you to go through all the animals a bit faster, and then go back for a second visit if you'd like. The animal shows are very informative and help put to rest some of the fables. It is just soooooo awesome how they train the Bears. We choose to have a picture taken with the massive grizzly bear. It allows one to get up close and personal. The income from the pictures help them pay for upkeep of the park. There is actually a really nice diversity of animals as well. Make sure you take some change to buy food to feed your choice of animals. If you enjoy social media, they do an awesome job staying in touch on Facebook.

There was miscommunication with the party times and the rude staff members came in while my children were opening gifts in front on all the parents and children and told us to get out. Did not even pull me aside. I will not book another party here and warn anyone who plans to to be prepared .

I've been twice in the past 24-hours. The first time was so amazing, that I had to come back…read more Unfortunately, the second time was a bit of a reality check. Here's how the experience went... (NO SPOILERS) Our first escape was an attempt to find Excalibur, in order to slay a dragon laying waste to our lands. The program was well-written, the challenges were both interesting and fun, and the ambiance was great. As an added bonus, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We went back the very next day and took on The Heist, where you attempt to steal a diamond from a bank vault. Again, the program and challenges made it an absolute thrill. However the ambience was just about completely ruined by the technical issues that marred this particular room. Again, without revealing any of the premise of the game, two locks were so blatantly dysfunctional that multiple members of our team could not open them and we had to get a staffer to assist us. Also, a television had so many issues that I couldn't tell if it was to increase the tension in the game, or if it was simply poor maintenance; although I highly believe it was the latter. All said, it was still an enjoyable escape, and well done, but we were left feeling cheated by the technical difficulties we encountered. Had I only done The Quest, this would easily be a 5-star review. Had I only done The Heist, I would be struggling to award 3-stars. Again, the staff was extremely friendly, so I think a 4-star review is a solid middle ground. I would hate for anyone to rate this venue after just one visit.

Our second time camping here! Kids have a break from their gadgets, biking, boating, playground, a…read morespace to play badminton. We camped closer to the bathroom and i must say a bit old. The flush needs to be pulled upward and the faucet water had a crazy water pressure. Free warm bath though unlike others. Over all it's pretty fair and manageable and not so baf after all.
