The exterior grounds of the apartments, as well as the laundry room and the mail area are always kept impeccably clean. The building manager, Irma, is exceptional. She promptly responds and handles any need in the most professional and conscientious manner. The building exterior and interior just underwent a makeover. The building was already lovely and now it is nothing short of jaw dropping! I am an interior decorator, and I have lived in high-end areas of California. But the Palms Apartments tops them all. I truly believe the owners of the building treat it as if they lived here. For all of these reasons, I am honored to be a longstanding tenant of The Palms Apartments!

The…read morebuilding's front door locks have been changed multiple time due to "past residents" entering the building with their old keys. Just recently, the building locks where changed without informing any of the current residents it was going to happen until the day they performed the action. I came home and couldn't get through the front building door! And guess how the new keys were delivered? They just dropped the new keys off outside the apartment doors, unsecured. Very smart. Also, they didn't switch all of the buildings door locks, so now we have multiple mismatch keys that work on different buildings doors. Avoid this place at all costs. I never leave reviews, this is my first, but I really hope this helps someone avoid the trouble I had to live through.

This is a noise i never experienced. 2. HORRIBLE New MANAGEMENT They may reject your check anytime and ask for money order for more than 6 month. 3rd party billing compnay refused my check suddenly (proved that i had enough fund, proved my document is correct) and even if i proved i didnt made this issue, they just require money order without advance notice. Property management asked me to reach through their email so i sent several emails, didnt receive any replies and just keep forcing me follow their rules. 3. EV chargers only 1/3 are working. Used to do valet trash service (no more valet trash service but still charging $30 for regular trash service) and lock the trash entrace so trashed were just piled up in trashroom. Still very dirty. 5. Lots of extra fees you may not thought about. Sharing expense of 1 of the month. Service fee $4.50, pest control fee $2.00 (brand new building often dont need pest control fee), valet trash $30 (no valet trash service available), sewer $0.55, hot water $8.95, water heating $12.00

There is no doorman, package room, pool, roof-deck, gym or any other convenience that one can usually find standard in a similar type of rental community in the Hermosa/Redondo Beach area. Azure's management company, Pan American, is a master of the "bait and switch" sales tactic in which they'll lure you in with rental concessions and then increase your rental rates as soon as your initial lease expires. Their rates are inflated for the market, which is why there are units sitting vacant with little interest from prospective tenants. The rent for my unit increased 12% year-over-year when you factor in the initial rent concession to bait us to move in and the property management company tried to claim that increased rental rates for the renewal are aligned with the local market. If that were true, there wouldn't be vacant units in the building with such high turnover. I offered to keep my rent flat in order to renew my lease, which is still 9% higher than my effective rent during the initial lease and they rejected the proposal. They would rather lose money offering a rental concession to new tenants than keep an existing tenant at full-price. Pan American's corporate greed and senseless business practices are unethical and tacky. Do yourself a favor and pass on this property!

This building changed owners about a year ago and is now professionally managed by Pan American…read moreProperties, Inc. of Tustin, CA. The building does not have an on-site manager, but the manager has been quite responsive when I have reported problems. Without an on-site manager, package delivery services are somewhat questionable. Some packages do get delivered inside the security gate somehow, but some get left outside the gate by the mailboxes. I have chosen to have my packages delivered to The UPS Store less than a mile away. That has proven to be convenient enough for me. The new owners have done significant work on the property since they acquired it. The building has new exterior paint and landscaping. They are in the process of refurbishing the units with new cabinets, appliances, hardwood floors, and vertical blinds. There are sixteen units in the building, eight of which have two bedrooms, and the other eight have one bedroom. The building has a laundromat in the basement. Refurbished units are getting a stacked washer/dryer unit as well. All units come with a garage. Residents of two-bedroom units get their own two-car garage with over-hood storage cabinets. Those in one-bedroom units share a garage. The parking area has a security gate, and the garage doors can be locked as well, if desired. Additional storage space may be available for rent. The building is pet-friendly. First floor units are accessible to disabled people, but the wheelchair-bound may need to install a threshold ramp. There are no outdoor spaces for recreation, nor does the building have any other shared recreational facilities. Natural gas, water, and trash service are included in the rent. Time Warner Cable provides TV, phone, and broadband. Verizon services the area, and their phone and DSL services are available in the building. Only the slowest DSL service is available here. Verizon's FiOS is available in the street, but for some unknown reason, the ownership has chosen to not have it installed in the building. I find this puzzling given the effort they are putting into updating the property. My understanding is that Verizon will install it in the building for free, if allowed. My unit is quite comfortable. The living room in the two-bedroom units is quite large. The unit is heated by a single double-sided gas wall unit between the living room and the hall to the bedrooms. This means that the bedroom doors must be left open in the winter to allow heated air to flow into them. The neighbors in the building are all very nice. Unfortunately, more than half of them have moved out or are preparing to since I moved in. Apparently, after the building changed hands, the rent for the current residents was increased substantially to the extent that several of them have been forced to move out. The situation with the rents for the current residents who were here before the building changed hands is so extreme that it has me wondering how fairly rents will be handled from year to year. The building is less than half a mile from South Bay Galleria. That puts most shopping and several dining options within walking distance. Bus service is also convenient. Stops are located at the corner of Artesia and Inglewood a short block away, and the nearby mall is serviced by several lines; so public transportation is quite easy from this location.

We first started renting and were so impressed that we then decided to buy once a place opened up. Our favorite features of this community are: - It is extremely close to the highway and to the beach. And the fact that the beach is Manhattan Beach (which is probably the nicest beach in LA) is icing on the cake. - The gated community has a beautiful walking trail with so much greenery around it. We love going for walks around here with our dog. - The school district is amazing! This is an award-winning district that is just wonderful for kids. - The buildings are new, having been built in 2007. Everything just works so well. - The HOA fee is so low! I'm never seen such a good community with such a low HOA fee. This is because the HOA has been well-managed and has funds available. - It is very close to silicon beach, where there is strong technology growth happening. And the LA Rams stadium is not too far away. This area is great for growth! - There are a ton of big companies around like Mattel and Northrop Grumman, so jobs aplenty. - And best of all, the people in the community are great. There is a strong family feel to living here! Overall, this community is such a wonderful deal. I can't believe it's so affordable for all that it offers!

We live in largest unit and my only complaint is all the stairs, other than that, the townhouse is great with a contemporary feel. The grounds and the pool are great as well, the dogs love going on walks with us and have made lots of pals. So what's my complaint? I don't know if it's the way I dress (I'm actually a stylist so...yeah...), or if it's the fact that I like to sit by the pool and work, or if it's the fact that I take walks around the property, but I have been treated very rudely by only a select group of people who have said nasty things to me, and even questioned whether I lived here or not, I even had a woman threaten me and follow me to my unit. THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS COMMUNITY SHOULD BE ABOUT! Talk about judging a book completely wrong!!! So yes, I do have some problems with the way the community has changed over the years, and management should be concerned with these people, not the families who have lived in Manhattan Beach (previously for 30+ years until moving to the Fusion.) Thank you and I wish people could mind their manners.

The manager and landlord have such a blase attitude about it which makes it worse.
