WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I'm still on this high from my awesome acrobatic flight in a 1940's biplane... and this was a week ago!!! From start to finish, customer service was beyond exceptional! I received a Red Balloon voucher for a helicopter flight over Sydney, but I've already taken a helicopter flight so I looked for something a bit more out of the box. I came across an ad for "30-minute Acrobatic Flight in Vintage 1940's Tiger Moth". Now THIS sounds fun! Booking the flight wasn't the most fluid transaction but it's understandable -- I had to book through Red Balloon which then had to confirm with Airborne Aviation who would then get back to me with a confirmation. This was only the case because I had a Red Balloon voucher and had to go through that silly chain. If you don't have a voucher and want to book directly through Airborne Aviation, you definitely can! Plus I'm sure the process of booking would be a lot less painless. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a couple of lovely gentlemen. There was a simple form I needed to fill out (signing my life away) before I was escorted outside to get strapped in. I brought my GoPro with me thinking I could mount it to my head, but the gentleman helping me into the plane (wish i could remember his name) told me I could mount my GoPro to the wing using their fixed GoPro mount if I wanted to. Really!?!??! I know some of these adventure companies thrive on selling you photos/videos that they've taken with their own camera. To my surprise, they allowed me to use my own camera! Awesome! After being strapped in, I was given a quick tour/instruction of certain things I needed to know including the location of the barf bag hahah Shane was my pilot and I can't rave enough about this guy! He REALLY loves what he does and you can sense the genuine joy he gets from knowing that you're having a good time. He did a wonderful job of explaining everything that was going to happen during our flight from taking off to landing. He said it's up to me how crazy we want to get our if I just wanted to cruise. Not gonna lie, I was a tad nervous in the beginning but Shane created such a fun atmosphere that he put me at ease and I kept wanting to get crazier and crazier. We did a few maneuvers (flips, rolls, turns, etc..) one at a time so I could really feel it. After each maneuver he'd check in with me to see how I was doing. We did a sequence of maneuvers one right after the other and ended the flight with a stall which was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! After landing, I had a good chat with Shane and the owner Leo back in the office. They presented me with a photo and a voucher to use next time or to gift it to someone. Rad! $300 for an experience like no other!!!!! I'd definitely do it again if I could!!! **If you're coming from Sydney CBD by public transportation, it's not a bad trip. You just have to take a bus into Camden from Campbelltown and walk a scenic 2.3km to get to the hangars. DO IT!!!! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!! read more
