From the outside you would not be 'wowed' by this hotel. We have stayed her a couple of times now on business trips. Beginning in the lobby, there are marble floors and large area carpets. Comfortable chairs line the window wall with a coffee/bar at the end and reception desk across. The staff here have always been friendly and helpful. Elevators are available just past the restaurant entrance, as is a large, marble staircase.
The rooms are large with a small refrigerator in the desk, a seating area with two chairs, side table and lamp and a bed that can be separated into two singles, or pushed together to create one king size bed. During one of our visits, the mattress should have been replaced, but mostly they have been fine. Each room has a balcony: in the back of the hotel it overlooks a farm, in the front, Via Torino. There is no furniture on the balcony so I take a chair from the room to enjoy the weather and always return it to the room each night. Extra blankets are available in the large, mirrored closet. The bathrooms are very clean with a large tub, shower, hair dryer, and personal items like soap, shampoo and shower caps. I am not sure why hotels in Europe do not supply small wash clothes, but this one is no exception to that rule. Free Wi-Fi is available in the rooms and throughout the hotel.
There are meeting rooms available on the main and lower level (-1) as well as a lovely spa. The spa pool, turkish bath, sauna, whirlpool and chromatherapy areas are free for hotel guests to use. Bring flip flops with you, or rent them for €1. Offerings at an additional cost include massage, mani, pedi, body scrubs and facials. Check out the review for Nea` Spa for more info and pictures. There are brochures in the room and lobby.
The hotel restaurant, Ikaro, is where breakfast is served. Ask the waitstaff for your coffee (espresso, American, Capuccino) or tea and they will bring it to the table. If you like American coffee with milk, ask for milk as well as coffee. The breakfast buffet includes scrambled eggs, fritatta and breakfast sandwiches. Also, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, brioches, breads, tortes, cereals and all sorts of condiments.
The restaurant serves lunch and dinner as well. This is a very elegant, fine dining restaurant that is famous for their meat. At first I found the service to be a bit 'too much' and was uncomfortable, but the friendliness of the staff soon alleviated my discomfort. Our meal was absolutely wonderful and the cost reasonable. Again wine is sold by the bottle here with only a few choices 'by the glass'.
Just outside the front entrance of the hotel, is a patio with large umbrellas, tables and chairs. Many guests enjoy an evening cocktail or morning tea here as well as a smoke. There is NO wait service out here, go to the lobby bar to get your beverages. There is plenty of parking on site both in front and to the side, with covered parking around back on the left side.
Located outside the city, it makes for an easy business commute, avoiding all the traffic of staying directly in Torino. There is also a bus stop about 50m from the hotel that goes into Torino with the return stop directly in front of the hotel. It is an easy walk or drive into the town of Leini where there are a number of restaurants and shops. With the great service, on site pool and spa and very good restaurant, this makes a very nice hotel for a business traveler or tourist if you are looking to stay outside of busy Torino. read more
