We booked a flight from Malaga to Madrid through American Express Platinum, and our experience with Air Europa was extremely disappointing. Their website would not allow us to check in online, and when we arrived at the airport, the clerk at the counter told us that because we hadn't checked in online, we were now considered standby passengers. This directly contradicted their own policy, which clearly states that checking in online is not required to secure seats.
To make matters worse, the clerk's attitude was rude and unprofessional toward both me and my family. The treatment we received was dismissive and snarky, setting an utterly negative tone for our travel experience. Despite booking our tickets two months in advance, we were left uncertain whether we would even be allowed on our flight.
On top of this, we were charged a shocking $180 for three bags, adding even more frustration to an already terrible experience.
I have never experienced such poor customer service with an airline. Based on this ordeal, I will NEVER fly with Air Europa again and strongly caution other travelers to think twice before booking with them. read more
