As every pet owners treat their dogs as family member, I am so thrill to have Air Animal shipped my 2 dogs from Texas to Thailand. After months of extensive research to find the pet shipper to ship my dogs from San Antonio, Texas to Bangkok, Thailand, I chose Air Animal in Florida. Here are the reasons I chose them: - Ms. Maria Holt had been the only one I talked to at Air Animal. Other pet shippers you will talk to one person then when you agree to do business with them or give them deposit down then you will be assigned to the new person. With Maria, I learned about how she explained the process, how she returned your phone calls and emails in the very timely manner. I know exactly who did I deal with without having to worry that once you give them deposit, you will be assigned to unknown person. - The transparency in the aspects of the process, the price, what will you get with that price and Maria herself. She is patient, kind, and answered the ignorant questions I threw at her numerous times. At one point, I wasn't the nicest person to deal with but she was still professional and kind. - Easy to deal with. I communicated with her through emails most of the time and she answered quickly. So in early November 2019 I decided to choose Air Animal, I put half down payment. Of course being difficult myself, I had all kinds of What If questions in my mind. Within hours after Maria received payment, she sent me the receipt, the process in brief details, the paperwork to fill out, etc. Keep in mind the date that I plan to ship my 2 dogs is February 4th, 2020. In the meantime I also hire another awesome pet shipper in Thailand (Boonma) to handle the paperwork in Thailand. Maria and Boonma worked well together. When there was any major or minor hiccup, they communicated and solved it right away without I had to do anything. My responsibility was giving Maria all the details of my dogs, bought the right crates, take the dog to the vet to get the international health certificate and pay for it, etc. What went behind the scenes, Maria took care of everything.... EVERYTHING. One week before Feb 4th, we got the package from Maria with everything SPELLED out for us for what to do, where to dropped of the dogs, etc. Just make sure you follow the instructions to the T. On Feb 4th, my husband drove to Houston to drop off the dogs (he prepared exactly what Maria instructed) and it was a BREEZE. She sent the email to me to let me know that my dogs was departed to Frankfurt. At Frankfurt, Maria forwarded me the pictures of my most beloved persevered dogs to me which means to world to both my husband and I. I cried with releif. The dogs were in Frankfurt animal lounge for about 10 hours then they were on the plane again to Bangkok, Thailand. Boonma took over and deliver the great service as well. I will do separate review for Boonma on their Facebook. The end of the day our dogs arrive well and healthy and that make it all worthwhile. Maria emailed to follow up the next day. I just can't thank her enough to do such the great job. Sure she get paid to do this but as we all know there are a lot of business out there who got paid to their job but had no idea what they are doing. Beware of this company. So far, my overall experience with this company has been absolutely atrocious. We bought a munchkin cat from a certified breeder in Florida (we're in California). We paid for the cat as well as the breeders shipping price. When they got the cat to the airport he didn't have the right crate so the company forced us to pay $1200 for a rental crate which is supposedly refundable. This is TBD. Then, the next morning after the cat landed at the airport, they demand an extra 1800 dollars for the insurance cost which no one had told us about. This is supposedly refundable as well but judging by how sneaky and twisted this company is, I am not sure how true this is. Lee Morris is supposedly the employee handling this case. I will update with further details but so far, a terrible experience. UPDATE: turns out Lee Morris was a man who claimed to have worked for this particular pet service company when in realty he did not. We were scammed and lost about 2 grand due to being scammed. Warning. Do not use Venmo or zelle when buying a pet online as they do not offer fraud protection. Best of luck to you all. My family is together again and I have Air Animal to thank for that. We are a military family who had a big move from Seattle, WA to Manama, Bahrain. We ended up having to separate our 2 cats and 1 dog. Michelle helped with every single step and kept me informed. She ALWAYS answered her phone if there were any questions and was lightening fast responding to emails. She coordinated our 2 cats flying out of Dulles and our dog flying out of Seattle, Sea Tac. It was a lot of work and she took care of everything. She kept me informed on the status of flights, where they would be staying at pet lounges and made sure they arrived each time. She organized paperwork for us and all the dates when our animals needed their vet appointments. She coordinated the USDA documents and had everything shipped FedEx. I cannot praise air animal enough. From start to finish everything was absolutely perfect. I shipped my dog kenzo from Orlando to Dublin as we wore moving home. Melissa Salazar handled everything for us with minimal stress because we wore so anxious about shipping our kenzo! We ran into issues with our vet with getting tapeworm and health certificates last minute and Melissa got us an appointment the same day at their location and Dr Woolfe was amazing and helpful! Moving your dog can be so stressful but air animal took all the stress for us and it was a such a smooth experience! We got updates of kenzo on his journey and the company who delivered kenzo to me on the other side wore so lovely! Giving 2 stars, because our cat did arrive intact at the end of this ordeal. Not giving any more than that, because of how poor the experience was. We moved from Texas to Dublin, and used Air Animal to transport our cat for the journey. We picked them because we believed we were paying for a premium solution and team that was supposed to provide great day-of-travel updates on how our cat was doing and where he was, and would advocate on behalf of our cat if issues arose. Throughout the travel day, we received no proactive updates, and had to send multiple emails and leave voicemails to get any information on where our cat was at (the online portal they give you access to is really just a picture of the flight path, and does not get updated in any way throughout the experience). 3 hours after our animal was supposed to arrive at our destination, we called in trying to find out when he would be delivered. It turned out that he had been de-planed in Amsterdam before that flight took off (5 hours before our outreach) and our account rep didn't know he had been removed from the flight until she checked 30 minutes after we called and left our voicemail. We were told there was no other flight between Amsterdam and Dublin on the same airline that night so he would have to spend the night. We looked ourselves and there was in fact another flight on the same airline, but by the time we were able to get ahold of our account representative, it was too late for them to get him on the plane. He had to spend another 12 hours (beyond the 6 he already spent there) in a kennel at the Amsterdam airport. We understand that issues arise and plans need to be updated, but there was absolutely no effort put into reducing the amount of time our pet was in a stressful situation. We had believed that Air Animal would be on top of problem solving issues like that - but they absolutely were not, and we would not have heard anything about it had we not reached out multiple times to find out where our animal even was. The fact they didn't even know he wasn't on the flight hours after it landed blows my mind. The representative fell back on the excuse for the lack of communication that these updates would have happened outside US business hours and that the airline had not told them. I don't understand how an international pet shipping company could respond with this, given that most international destinations are in other time zones, and that his itinerary spanned more than 24 hours. And we thought we were paying these high prices to have people proactively checking on the welfare and status of our animal. That clearly was not the case. Save your money, and maybe even get better service, by choosing any other pet transport company. Picking Air Animal was the single worst decision we made in all of our moving plans. read more

VERY unhappy. Dog was supposed to have been shipped today. They never told us that not shipping the dog was a risk. Now we are 3000 miles from the dog with no solution, and we bought all the crates etc, for a LOT of money. Dog not shipped and no solution, except ship via truck across country for 5 - 10: days, but not leaving for another week and half. So we won't see the dog for a month. Already took our $, so we'll see what my next entry will be on Yelp. If they had told me ahead of time, I could have made alternate arrangements. So far they have $1700 of ours, no dog. Day 2 - Still no solution, the dog is a smaller golden retriever (65lb) , apparently 'too big' for normal crates, and needs a crate designed for bull mastiff/Great Danes, which can't be shipped by airlines. Air Animal has extremely bad customer service. I was not able to use there services, but it was mostly do to the lack of coordination on there end. Backstory: I am moving to San Juan, PR and require transportation service due to airline policies concerning high heat regulations when animals travel. I have a 90lb Sheppard mix and have few options in relocating my dog. My wife contacted the company and received a quote (this is about the only good thing). I later emailed them to inquire about the quote and wanted to change some of the initial services we asked for. There was NO response via the quote message system. I called them 4 times to speak with Nashali, the woman who provided the initial quote and whom I sent the email to. After leaving a voicemail and making numerous attempts to reach her, I spoke with who I presumed was a secretary and put me in contact with another representative who I was never able to reach. The next day, Nashali reaches out and coordinates with my wife on a phone meeting at 1pm. Nashali calls my wife at 12:50 and leaves an extremely rude message about not being able to answer her phone call. My wife was leading a meeting, hence why she initially told her 1pm. We have a time stamp on the phone call and there was NO reason to leave such a rude message. Fast forward a couple days, I call Air Animal to speak to management and inform them of there business loss with us and to look into there employee. We are not seeking anything from this, but instead want to make them aware of their lost of business (about $5,000) due to their lack of customer service. I spoke with Melissa and she said she could not provide me with a company management email address and to call during business hours?! How do they operate such a business with so little care and not be able to provide a managers email address? This does not bold well to the general public and I DO NOT trust them with the responsibility of flying my dog. I will attempt to call them one more time during business hours for the information, but at a minimum I can at least save you all the headache from utilizing such a company with little regard to customer needs and inquiry. read more

We recently contracted Air Animal to help us move our wonderful terrier mix to Germany. Despite previous positive reviews others have posted (and positive in-person interactions with their partners), we found our agent to be unreachable, unorganized and unengaged, forcing us to double-check every step of the process along the way. Air Animal promises to coordinate closely with one's vet to handle EU Health Certificate paperwork, for example. In practice, our agent sent paperwork full of errors - my wife and I were stuck coordinating a call between our agent and the vet for 2 hours trying to sort it out. Air Animal promises to offer a high level of customer service. When the phone lines went down in their office for a full day, the day prior to our travel, no one thought to proactively call us, text us or contact us in any way to tell us what had happened - leaving us frantic for information to plan our flight. Someone only finally reached out to us when we sent a complaint to the company page on Messenger late that evening. We only received logistical information - contact numbers of our US and EU liaisons - where and when to meet, how to coordinate the handover/pickup of our pets - at the last minute or in the case of the EU, *after* we had landed and made repeated long-distance calls to Air Animal requesting these vital details. When we landed, we discovered by email that our EU contact had incorrect information for the flight on which to meet our pet. (Imagine for a moment landing at 5 am at the airport and not have any clue of where and when to meet your contact to pick up your pet - or even if they were going to show up for the correct flight.) If a worry-free experience is what you're seeking, Air Animal is *not* the way to go. read more

I hired Air Animal to transport my 65 pound standard poodle from Chicago to London. My dog arrived safely, and Air Animal did a satisfactory job with making sure the paperwork and logistics were figured out. There was one problem where copies instead of the original paperwork was sent with my dog's kennel that ended up delaying us getting our dog by a day and causing us panic, but that was primarily the fault of IAG Cargo (British Airway's cargo partner) putting the wrong documents on the kennel. The reason for the 3 stars is because I felt that my case manager, Maria Holt, did a less than satisfactory job with communication. I felt that I had to routinely ask about next steps and guide the process along, rather than being told ahead of time when I would need to get vet appointments scheduled, vaccines, microchips, etc. I also emailed quite a few emails that never got responses, which was rather frustrating. It seemed that the only way I could get a response was if I put *URGENT* in the subject line. I tried to call Maria on a few occasions when I was unable to get a response via email, but she would never answer her phone. It was also difficult to reach the London based company Air Animal partnered with to have our dog delivered (James Cargo). The phone numbers we were provided with didn't work, so it made it difficult to figure out when our dog would be arriving and why there were delays. We were also left wondering whether our dog was being fed, let out of her kennel, watered, etc when she was stuck at the Heathrow Animal Reception Centre. It would have been nice if Air Animal had walked us through more of the details ahead of time and help us know what to expect. The overall relationship with our case manager felt distant the whole time and it made us feel unsure whether anything was actually happening behind the scenes to get our dog over. I would have preferred to have a case manager who proactively sends me an email telling me the schedule of what needs to be done and when. Instead, I had to email my case manager to make sure things were being done and make sure I had the timing correct. I think Air Animal is plenty competent at navigating the logistics of shipping an animal, but they need to keep customers in the loop about what is actually being done and engage them better in the decision making process. If I hire a contractor to build a house, I don't want to just give him the prints and come back in a year when the house is built. I would want the contractor to update me on the progress, let me know about different ways to save money, ask me what kind of tile I want in the kitchen, and tell me about any problems that might occur along the way. Unfortunately, my experience with Air Animal was that they managed their client relationship with me more like the contractor in the first example. read more

I am VERY delayed doing this review, but better late than never. I had Air Animal move my four cats from the DC area to Kauai Island, Hawaii, in the spring of 2013. I simply cannot say enough good things about Air Animal! From my first call, I knew I had the right people to transport my beloved cats. I had called quite a few animal transport people before finding Air Animal, and the level of incompetence I encountered before finding Air Animal was just amazing. Air Animal assigned me a "case worker" and I had her email and direct dial phone number. She went over every single detail with me, including having me send her the forms I filled out BEFORE I finalized them and sent them away. And she even fielded my multiple "oh-my-goodness-I'm-freaking-out-this-isn't-going-to-work" phone calls. Four years ago, animals going to Hawaii had to stop in Honolulu, at the US Department of Agriculture quarantine station, to be inspected/checked to be certain all health records and proof of rabies vaccination was in order. (Hawaii is the ONLY part of the US that is rabies free, so extraordinary measures are taken to ensure Hawaii remains that way.) Once again, my case worker talked me through how to fill out the application FOR EACH CAT, what exactly to write in each section, and so on. Air Animal arranged for my kitties to go on the non-stop from Washington-Dulles Airport to Honolulu. This was a great idea, because I figured that ANY transfer point along the way was a chance of my kitties to get lost. The only thing sort of bad was that my kitties arrived into Honolulu AFTER the USDA quarantine station was closed. But, no problem, Air Animal had a Honolulu person who picked up my kitties and kept them in boarding place overnight, where they could stretch their legs and get out of their crates. The Honolulu person contacted me when she had gotten my kitties, also. And the next day, the Honolulu person put my kitties on a local cargo flight to Kauai -- and me! My kitties arrived in PURR-fect shape, although a bit dazed and confused, but I expected that. I would of given them 5 stars based on the ease however I am only given one and cannot give a recommendation especially to any military member since I was hit with a charge of a few hundred nearly a week after arrival!. Not only are the cost outrageous, but they hit you with un expected bills and charges that are not disclosed. We paid our quote to ship our two dogs to Hawaii, $2400 to get them there, $645 for two crates, $173 for health check and that is not counting the FVAN. What they did not tell us was when we thought they were doing the service to change the flights due to heat restrictions to fly out of Orlando vs Tampa, and reroute them to LAX we would be slapped with another bill of $335 for early morning pick up and day boarding, day boarding I get, but when you reroute my dogs and charge me for it disclose that! Beware. Make sure you have in writing all the costs and costs for adjustments they make you ensure that they are disclosing all Costs. For majority of military it is already a high price to pay in a relocation and to get slammed with another unexpected bill is bad business. They need to work on their communication. Had this not of occurred they would of gotten 5 stars but a drop in communication for almost $400 is not good business or professional. That quote adjustment should of been communicated the day of the change for my consent and it was not. read more

I highly recommend air animal, Michelle Ramos provided professional and expert service. I recently re-located from Philadelphia to London, with my 2 cats. The trip was the most stressful move and experience I've ever had, as I'm a animal lover and not a casual pet owner. Air Animal alleviated much of the stress that comes from the intense paperwork, pre-trip Vet visits, travel to the airport, and customs requirements. Michelle meticulously went over every step in the process of relocating my pets. In fact, the Vet was so impressed with the thoroughness of the paperwork and ease of completing the forms that she called Michelle herself, and said thank you and she is now recommending all of her clients relocating overseas to use Air Animal. I literally spoke to Michelle every day, as I was so stressed out and she was patient and kind. My cats are healthy and happy living in London. I've detailed the steps below, as I had great difficulty finding this information during my research. Great Britain has extreme entry requirements for all animals entering the island, as the island is rabies free. You no longer have to quarantine your pets, however they have to fly in CARGO vs. flying in the plane cabin. There is no other way to bring animals in, even if they are registered "support" animals ( including seeing eye dogs). I researched every possible route, believe me. Paperwork- There is literally mounds of paperwork that the vet has to fill out, that has to be notarised by the USDA, and then that paperwork has to go to the UK for all of their approvals. Air Animal took care of all of this Animal shots pre-flight. Your animals have to be inoculated no more and no less than 30 days ( please check the exact days, this is from memory) prior to the flight. If you miss the window, you have to start the whole process all over again. This is critical to know.. including re-booking the flights and re-doing all of the paperwork. Do not mess around. Booking the flight. Air Animal books the flight for you, however they can only book the flight 2 weeks prior. Which is why the Vet visits must be critically timed. As the animals have to fly cargo, ensure YOU research the airline. The airline must pressurise and provide climate control. THIS IS A GAME CHANGER, IF THE CARGO IS NOT PRESSURISED OR CLIMATE CONTROLLED YOUR PETS WILL PERISH. This information is not easily found online. I spent hours talking to British airways cargo company grilling them on their practice and asking for references. Pre-Flight You have to bring your animals to the airline cargo hold 4 HOURS before your flight. They are held in a climate control room until they board the aircraft- 2 hours before. I highly recommend you call the cargo department and make an appointment to drop off your animals. I was able to sit with my pets until 2 hours prior to the flight, as the 4 hour rule is absurd, but they enforce it!! I also tipped the entire cargo team to watch my animals and take great care of them. Please remember not all people love animals, and they can be seen as true cargo. Flight I highly recommend you inform the pilots and crew that your animals are in the cargo. I asked the flight crew to confirm that the cats had boarded, and when we arrived ( with little turbulence thank God) that they had safely been removed ( they texted me, no joke). Pick up from customs This is brutal, you are in a long line for a minimum of 3 hours waiting for your animals to be cleared. As I used Air Animals and their service is impeccable I got my cats in 3 hours. Most people had been waiting for 8 to 12 hours!!!!!!!! My cats were traumatised but alive and safe. Good luck read more
