Fantastic Martial Arts Instruction…read more My son has attended martial arts classes with Sensei Jason for over four years. Jason creates a sense of community in the dojo and he truly is invested in the character and physical development of his students. He is no pushover and he demands both respect and grit. He holds each student fully accountable for their actions, words and effort. He also knows that the hard work needs to be balanced with play as well. Jason's flexibility in moving to zoom classes as soon as Covid hit was a lifesaver for our family. The thrice weekly classes provided a routine, social outlet and a phenomenal workout for our now screen-based son. He would end each of his sessions smiling, breathing hard and drenched in sweat. Jason now holds outdoor Saturday classes which again is exactly what our son needed. I know Jason is eager to return to the dojo when it is safe to do so. My son says, "I LOVE doing martial arts with Sensei Jason. It is so fun because it's sort of in between work and play. It improves on your mental strength and physical strength. You learn so much and for me I feel it improves on my confidence. I would highly recommend it."

Sensei Jason changed the name of his studio and moved locations, so I am moving my previous review…read morehere. I attended Jason's Women's self defense class for about four years. Its a great environment to learn self defense strategies while getting an amazing work out. And hitting a punching bag as hard as you can is just plain fun. Crescent kicks are my fav. I always felt like I was learning new things and challenging my body. Tackling floor bags and whaling on them never gets old. Sensei Jason is a great guy who pushes you just hard enough to make sure you are challenging yourself but at the same time makes sure you arent going to get hurt. He is stern but also caring. These classes are great for coordination, balance, and keeping your brain alert. This is a great alternative for someone like me who finds it hard to keep a regular work out schedule since I get bored so easily. I only wish he offered the self defense classes more than once a week! While I hope I never have to use the self defense skills I have learned from Jason, it means a lot to me that I have the training. I can live my life with confidence and self respect knowing I have the tools to defend myself from people much larger and stronger than myself. My boyfriend also took the Kempo classes with Jason and received his black belt. It helped him get into great shape and greatly improved his hand eye coordination. When we first started dating I didnt think he had an athletic bone in his body, and now I am constantly surprised and impressed at how much better he is at things like catching a football and throwing a frisbee. When we moved away he was really sad to lose Sensei Jason, and he has not been able to find any instructor in the two other states we have lived in anywhere close to his caliber. San Diego is lucky to have an instructor like Sensei Jason and we both miss our classes dearly.

Ari was so articulate in her instructions and made this martial art so accessible and easy to understand for myself as well as the adolescents in the class. We were given so many real world scenarios to practice during class, it's been fun having my daughter practice daily for more electronics time. We both are so much more confident than we were before this singular session with Ari! I love that my daughter has the opportunity to learn this art from a strong woman who works in such a way that benefits everyone in our community! Thank you for sharing your inspirational story of how Krav has transformed your life and for sharing your gift with others who benefit from your wisdom and lessons learned!

I have been working with Ari for over 3 months now. Before, I always felt like every bone, joint, muscle, etc... Was always needing to be cracked, adjusted, massaged,.. Or I'd just always in pain. But since working with Ari, I am able to handle her going deeper into the tissue and deeper into the stretch because now I feel like how my body is supposed to feel at my age. My back doesn't ache, my glutes aren't sore, and I feel like I have so much more movement. I can even twist my body in ways I haven't since I was a kid.

I was paying the less expensive plan, and I noticed that other less dedicated students were advancing faster, my instructor always had corrections on my forms. When I was ready for the next sage/belt test, I was told that the program I had no one else had it, and I needed to bring it up to advance. So just like that, in one second I turned from student to a customer, from a loyal participant to a not profit. I lost all my respect for the sifu, not for my instructor that diligently made the effort to keep me engaged. I wanted to continue to the end but my experience with this gym was really discouraging. In some point during my practice we were asked to place good reviews on Yelp, and then I know why. So if you don't buy the seminars, or you don't buy the black belt program, you just don't move. When my budget didn't allowed me to buy all the other stuff I stop moving. I got into a couple of seminars and all the forms that we learned there, where just shown that day, there was never time to practice them again so you paid for flash crush curse of something that never practice again. My respect to the instructor that helped me throughout all my journey.

He is exceptional at teaching experienced and also less-experienced students. The kids classes have a really good structure, which includes warmups, technique instructions, drilling and sparring. Coach Jason takes the time to explain every detail of a technique, ensuring that students of all levels can grasp the concepts and apply them effectively. My son has gained more confidence in himself and his abilities because of this. The people here are very respectful and are always willing to help out the lower belts to make sure that they are doing the moves correctly and are learning the proper techniques and habits. Aftermath offers a variety of class schedules to accommodate to their students. They offer morning and night classes throughout the week and have Gi and No-Gi classes as well. Whether you're a beginner looking to start your BJJ journey or an experienced practitioner seeking to take your skills to the next level, Aftermath has everything you need. I definitely recommend Aftermath to anyone interested in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. You won't regret it. Oss.
