I understand that the Stanley merely rents the facility to the proprietor, but they absolutely cooked with "Magus." With the Stanley leaning into ghosts, the occult, and spooky stories, this show is the perfect addition to the mystique of the place. Aiden Sinclair is a storyteller, and his background makes this even more compelling. Truly, I felt that the storytelling is worth it alone. The venue has the right amount of ambiance. Honestly, it's all very thrilling. You won't see a rabbit pulled out of a hat here, instead, you'll see an interesting exploration of the human condition paired with "how on earth did he do that?" This was super fun. Seating is great anywhere. Read the instructions on your confirmation and the site--this isn't in the Stanley. Do come early to view the little shop and the items of the "cabinet of curiosities" in the venue. Do arrive early. You'll need to if you accidentally go to the wrong building. I don't agree with the negative reviews--we were precisely on time and greeted very positively. This show contains use of the tarot/and "readings." Sheesh.... I paid for the VIP and was surprised that the extra cost didn't completely suck the life out of me.... I'm excited to start on this review, so let's go! First - 90 minutes of my life I will never get back.... We showed up, as indicated, 30 min before the show and waited and waited and waited.... Finally we got going and the "magician" (whatever...) came out and yabbered for quite awhile before we got started. The excitement builds and then there were like 4 tricks and the rest was listening to this guy go on and on about literally nothing. Who cares? Do some tricks for Christ sake... we saw some some tarot stuff, then something about a wizard, a "find a card" trick and some other gobbly gook about regrets and then a rock trick with a mark on both sides. Bruh.... The pièce de résistance: a water trick that any 2nd year chem student can perform... Ok - lessons learned: don't jabber on forever while saying nothing - you're wasting my time and my money; for me: VIP ain't no VIP; Amazon has tarot cards, I find it hard to believe this place has real ones; I could easily figure out all of the tricks - do a better job. I was at the Stanley for a long weekend with my big family for a wedding so I had the opportunity to catch the 13: The Seance at the Stanley twice and the Tales and Fables magic show. Both shows are drastically different and both really fun and well executed. Hannibal is a consummate storyteller and incredible apparitionist and magician. I don't like spoilers so suffice it to say I was actively trying to recruit more members of my family to see his shows because they were so intriguing and enjoyable, I wanted everyone to see it. Wow, what a great and interesting Seance Performance. This was one of the best experiences we participated in during our stay at The Stanley Hotel. We attended the 11pm performamce and booked it months a head to make sure we got a seat since it is limited to only 13 souls (18 years and older). I recommend to go see the show. We saw Fate & Futility. Aiden Sinclair was amusing and interesting in his latest incarnation and persona. There's a bit of comic element to his schtick. He's good at reading people.. It's entertainment and illusion but it's not magic. He can be a bit colorful in his use of language so be mindful of kids. He's good at telling a story. It had a 1900s turn of the century/Helena Blavatsky/spirituality/occultism vibe to it with references to historical figures and events. The show is interactive with the audience. He chooses people all over the audience; you don't need to buy VIP tickets, but be early if you want better seats. Arrive early and be on time, and don't eat or drink during the performance. Checked in to the Stanley hotel at 6 per the email directions I showed them my ticket and stated I am here for the seance at 8. I was provided a map to the location. It was under The Post, a restaurant. We ate upstairs at 6:45. We went down at 7:27. The attendant stated check in at 8. I stood there until 7:57. He then said wrong area. Head back to the main lobby. We got there at 8:03. The attendant then said in a snotty tone you are three minutes late we won't let you in and there won't be a refund. The manager of the hotel Stephen Kappeler stated they rent the property from the Stanley. The Stanley can't help. He said we should have been at the post on time. The manager didn't listen, still had the wrong information and there was absolutely no customer service. I really wanted to see the show. Drove there and paid for a hotel to be misdirected. read more

We came all the way from New York. We cut our hike short to be there on time. A hotel lobby tour guide misdirected us. We were actually misdirected several times. We ended up being 5 minutes late despite all the running around the property and they wouldn't let us in. We spoke to the magician's fiancé who is the business owner. She was so rude! It's funny because a ranger warned us about her (small town I guess, or maybe she's just a huge jerk lol). Anyway there are no refunds or exchanges so we lost out on our precious vacation time, a weird laughable experience, and $230. And they called the police on us and told us to leave! The money is whatever (I mean don't get me wrong that could go a long way, I'd rather give it to a shelter than to a greedy fake demonologist), but I'm incredibly upset that we cut our hike short only to be treated so poorly by a mismanaged hotel and freak-show. It's clearly a bunch of country bumpkins with misplaced sense of importance running everything in the town. Wait until they hear from our lawyer. Don't mess with NY, baby. Bet none of the ghosts told him to prepare for a legal firestorm. Update: I hope everyone sees the response from the business owner. Obviously they are extremely inappropriate and have difficulty controlling their anger. I'm flabbergasted by how unprofessional they are. It's one thing to leave a funny/sassy Yelp review, but so pathetic when the owner responds like this. They clearly need the no refund policy to keep themselves afloat, so I guess this was a donation. Go ahead and waste $100 per person for some fake ghost stuff at the Stanley if you want, but know that the person who wrote this response is the performer. Eight of you in a room with this person below! We showed up 20 minutes early for the show and could have made it to another waterfall, but left early to be on time. There's a difference between limiting expectations and good time management (us) and being disorganized (the ghost whisperer). Also surprising they are from NYC. I purchased tickets 3 weeks in advance from the show date. The show was on October 27th and I bought tickets October 3rd. At the time there was no covid policy listed. I came into town from out of state and when I arrived at the show I was denied entry because on October 20th, well after my purchase, they decided to make it to where only vaccinated people were allowed to the show and had to show a vaccine card. I don't have an issue with them deciding to go the vaccinated only route, that's their choice, my issue is I was never notified and they refused to refund me my money! Bad business and probably illegal to screw people over. I decided to look more into this and found that Aiden Sinclair spent 5 years in prison for fraud. I saw this show tonight at the Queen Mary. It was a great show. Great drinks prior, which were all specialty themed for the occasion but one of the best drinks I've ever had. The show itself was the perfect length and he did a wonderful job holding our attention and engaging us. He was very thoughtful to not make us participate if we didn't want to but all of us did. If i could give 0 stars, I would. I am extremely into all spiritual, medium, tarot, and paranormal type experiences. For that reason my boyfriend booked this show for the weekend of my birthday. Aiden claims we demanded free stuff and free upgrades, but we simply called to see what was included with VIP. His own staff told us that the seats are better, but that it wasn't anything to rant or rave about, so we stuck with the normal tickets we already bought. Aiden also claims that we lied about my birthday probably because I didn't post it all over social media (that he creepily stalked). No one checked my ID or anything. My birthday was March 17, we came to the show on March 21. Hardly a lie. We showed up, were escorted to our seats and the show begun. I wont give any spoilers but I will say what everyone else has said: It is really apparent that the volunteers were either the hotel's or Aiden's employees. They repeatedly skipped over the few people who were actually trying to participate MULTIPLE times to pick people in the same row. This was followed by inconsistent questions from Aiden that resulted in predisposed outcomes, and an apparent lack of emotion from the volunteers. If I picked the card that one girl did I'd be flipping out, but this girl literally didn't care and went back to sit by her "friends" without any emotion - probably because she didn't know them. And since we couldn't take it anymore we left quietly so to not ruin it for anyone else. We left a review here on yelp. Obviously not a great one but we assume that people will decide for themselves whether they want to attend. WELL if you're questioning it please do yourself a favor and take a look at the response to my significant other's review. Aiden went as far as to create a fake Instagram (@graveconnections) in order to stalk me and my boyfriend with the intent to scare us into thinking he knows what we did prior to the show as though he's some psychic. He called my boyfriend plenty of names as well as went as far as calling me dim-witted. Mind you, we never asked for a refund for the show. I am completely disgusted and creeped out at the audacity of this man. To Aiden: I am a full on intuitive who has many years of paranormal communication and personal experience under my belt....and I KNOW you're a fake. I was robbed $118 to watch 4 lame tricks that could be figured out. He even messed up one of the tricks lol. We both yawned at some point and showed my disinterest by putting my elbows to my knees. The funniest being the woman who he told to plug her ears, so she could tune out the audience , but he proceeded to give her Audio instructions , lol guess we are all stupid ! Every time he asked an alleged random guest to look at every person with a hand up they literally looked at maybe 1/4 of the people and amazingly selected a stranger . Another lol . I really hope all ticket sales and money donated after the show went to Ukraine because that in itself was just icing on the cake to ask for more money as a donation after charging stupid money for a boring and an obvious phony presentation . On a separate note it would be nice to see your $10 parking fee used to repair the parking lot full of dirt and potholes or the elevator . Go to the Stanley and see your money disappear! I'm a huge nerd about Victorian séances & occult spiritualism so this show was right up my alley. So fascinating to see some classic spiritualist techniques still in practice. I want to say that this is absolutely amazing show, one of the kind and it's a vital part of the stay here at Stanley Hotel. I am pretty skeptic about anything illusions related, but some things I've seen and get to personally be a part of made me question my own beliefs. Every show is different, but ours featured artifacts from Titanic itself. I don't want to reveal the show in the detail, but oh my what an experience. Very much enjoyed this show of illusions of the passed. Aiden made it comfortable for all and he is very much in tuned and compassionate with the people that have passed Here. I was chosen to do the Key with another to have Jackie turn the KEY, I felt it turn on my finger. I did feel a sense of a spirit there. And that sense was sadness. This is a must see if you're looking for something atmospheric, mysterious, and memorable. Like all great stage shows, your imagination plays a key role to the great illusions put in front of you and we were really drawn in to the spectacle of the performance by Alden Sinclair. As a member of the Magic Castle in Hollywood, I've seen countless magic acts, illusions, and magicians. There really isn't anything quite like this and you can tell Alden and his crew did their homework and really captured the tone and storytelling.The magic is first rate and will give you something to talk about later. Set in the famed Stanley Hotel, the one that inspired Stephen King to write The Shining, it takes advantage of the history and the creepiness to provoke a really spooky setting. Also, I should note that this isn't a typical "saw the woman in half" or "pull a rabbit from the hat" type of show. It's a supernatural, stage seance with stories, cursed artifacts, and supernatural mysteries. I had booked the show as part of a ghost adventure get away for my son who has been getting deeper and deeper into the ghost world. He's 12 and has cerebral palsy with epilepsy. I believe the misfires in his brain give him a special connection to a world beyond our everyday life. We traveled for 7 hours and spent a significant amount of money not only on the room but also on equipment for ghost hunting like gopros and audio recorders. It wasn't until check-in when I realized the room they gave us wasn't the room I had specifically requested. Instead of informing us that our room was unavailable, the hotel just reassigned us. My son was very much looking forward to that specific room, had researched it and spent hours going through videos of investigations done in that room. He was in tears when he found out we we were not in that room. He cried and said he just wanted to go home. I was also upset but told him to just try to make the most of it. That night, we attended Aiden's show, we had front row dead center seats. My son was chosen to make contact with a little girl who was going to magically guess who had a particular marble. He made contact as described and was absolutely blown away. He spent the entire weekend talking to that little girl with the pendulum he purchased at the show. He had an amazing weekend and it was all thanks to Aiden and his interaction with my son. He turned my son's weekend from tears and disappointment to what he describes as "the best weekend ever". I can not express the gratitude I have for Aiden, he didn't know my son was upset but just him being the amazing interactive performer he is, has changed this boy's life forever. thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Really, really, boring and only a history lesson about the Titanic. First red flag, started show with PowerPoint presentation on a small frame. This show was dull and not anything like as advertised. Said to be a seance instead it was basically a 90-minute history lesson on some potentially fiction guest of the Stanley hotel who is long dead. Mr Sinclair talks a lot. Got through about 5-tricks. Sat on the stage for 20-minutes while guests piled on with a blindfold and in the haze of some red light. Apparently he was in a trance. Silly. As for participation. There was some. But most often skewed to the selection of guests in the 'VIP' section of the audience. In addition the Stanley charged $10 for parking to this event with $5 being a restaurant credit. For the low price of $35 you could take a massive mixed drink growler downstairs to the show. Wish I had purchased as it would have livened up this dull show. I've seen some google clips of Mr.Sinclair's magic show that he did on America's Got Talent. They were good. This was not it.
