Lovely cottage to rent…read more We spent the night here to celebrate a friend's birthday. Super cozy living room, well-equipped kitchen and many bedrooms for your many friends! Going here is rather tricky though but when you have GPS on your car, it shouldn't be any problem. It's around 40-minute picturesque walk through the forest to the best white sand beach I have ever seen in Scandinavia. I hope we could go back again in the summer!

Still mediocre, yet we end up here every two years or so as we forgot how bland our last visit was…read more This year was no exception, the sunset view from the patio is beautiful, price way more reasonable adjusted with increase of everything else than it was 10+ years ago but the food is worse than ever. You get same mid quality seafood at any Ica Maxi deli at the fraction of the time and price and the non seafood options have gone from bland to horrendous. My daughter had the buns and chicken skewers and the bun was soggy, meat dry as bone and chewier than jerky chicken though with zero seasoning. The roasted potatoes where watery, the shrimp was small (probably under legal sell size) and many where crushed, oysters was a gamble, crayfish way overcooked and the aioli was sharp as a blade! I suspect the chef hasn't tasted it since our last visit. Two stars as even though the kitchen has given up on effort and pride of trade the service staff was cheerful and none of us fell ill from the seafood despite it being the hottest day of summer.

ystad's neighborhood ice cream shop! it seemed popular with both locals and tourists, good variety…read moreof flavors, decent price (~40sek for a small with two scoops in a cone). the shop is run by a mother and daughter, and service was friendly. i got the brynt smör kanderade mandlar (brown butter with almonds) which is their known flavor and mango lassi with cardamom. brynt smör is a bit on the sweet side but was tasty. mango lassi has a hint of cardamom. my mom got the coffee flavor which she enjoyed but said could be stronger flavor. a nice stop for ice cream if you're visiting ystad in the summer!
