Driving along the way to Villasimius we noticed a sign for Agriturismo, our bellies were screaming for food so we decided to take a chance and followed the sign into a small gravel road. After about a 2 min drive we found the Agriturismo. We were greeted by Angelo who asked if we had a reservation (we had not) not a problem he sad and quickly set a table for us. The Sunday lunch had two alternatives. One set menu for 18eur and one for 20eur, both including a pitcher of Water and a wine carafe. We had forgotten to withdraw cash earlier so we just had money for one set menu. However this was not a problem, Angelo started bringorna out plate after after with Sardinian starters such as a cold cuts, pickled paprika, Sardinian pancake, eggplant, fresh ricotta cheese and homemade bread. As we ate the seated around us started to fill up with bustling Italians. After the starters we were served Sardinian gnocchi's with tomato sauce. A beautiful dish and exactly what we needed. After dinner we had two amazing espressos. It was so much food that we both were full on just sharing one menu, and my boyfriend drinking all the wine in the 35C heat was pleasantly tipsy the rest of the drive to villasimius. Trough the whole lunch Angelo was the perfect waiter, attentive and friendly. We highly recommend this restaurant for anyone passing by or staying in the area, just remember in Sardinia cash is king! read more
