We wanted a relaxing trip to Sardinia where we could have no worries, recharge by the pool or at the beach, and of course wonderful Italian food. We found all of that at this resort.
This is a wonderful place. A hidden gem where no one would expect to find a secluded escape. This resort is part of the much bigger Arbatax Park resort that is designed for families but this specific hotel is perfect for a couples retreat.
There is a covered pool at the hotel and a short decent into the park itself offers you a selection of bigger pools and beaches. Yes, you will have to walk uphill and take several sets of stairs to get back to the hotel so if you are out of shape, then this might not be the place for you.
The good: the view, the food, the staff, lots to do
At 35 euros per person for one of the best dinner buffet's I have had, this place can not be beat when it comes to the variety and quality of the cuisine. Each night was a different assortment of pastas and main plates. Silvia and Denise at the front desk were super friendly and helpful. Renato, behind the bar, is a whiz at cocktails and knows all the best local wines.
The bad: communication, the rooms
It would have been good to know all the events and festivities that were available for the park when we arrived; or that reservations are often necessary if we planned on dining at the hotel. Our room was the only one with a big patio on the ground floor facing the ocean. Beautiful patio but the room gets almost no sunlight. Not a big deal if you don't plan on staying inside. The air conditioning is also very loud and results in some humidity and dampness in the room. read more
