This place is off the main road, down a little hill, and well worth the "where in the world are we…read moreheaded" adventure to get there. Agritourismo locations specialize in locally grown (on property) foods and meats and from the time you step out of the car the smell of fresh earth, farmed land and livestock confirm that youre about to enjoy a true farm to table experience. The bread was warm, in various shapes, textures and varieties and clearly home made. The atipasto - an assorted plate of salame, lardo, cheese, chickpea salad, radicchio slaw and pear sauce. The salame was garlicky and soft, a testament to its freshnes and the lardo melted in your mouth. The pear miel served along side the cheese (I forget the type) was sweet, smooth and full of pear essence with a viscosity similar to warmed honey. Its the one and only time I've enjoyed dipping my cheese into fruit sauce! For my main course I ordered the polenta with pork stew, and it was so rich I had to share it with my partner so I could save room for dessert. My table mates had the same or the roasted pork loin, to which the only comment was "I could eat more" as they moved their quickly emptied plate. Lol The night ended with the Panna Cotta with kaki (persimmon) dessert and it was well worth the room saved. My partner had the Chocolate cake (an Austrian speciality) which was rich without being heavy or too gooey. From antipasto to pasta to main course to the deserts, the food was simple, fresh, tender and delicious! The only drawback were the smaller portions, which while I found to be a non issue - as I mentioned ,the flavors were so rich and satisfying I could barely finish my plate - but the men at our table found disappointing. Im summary, Casa Al Campo - if you can find it, go. If you can't find it, get directions and go. And if you are ever in the area make a point of going. It's well worth the adventure and your mouth will love you for it.

They keep this place immaculate and stocked with breakfast goodies. We couldn't get enough of the Italian style moka pot that we just had to purchase and bring home. Coffee never tasted so divine! Location is ideal as La Rotonda and Al Nani are in walking distance, as is Monte Berico. Running path out back is a perfect access point to so many charming points of interest. Surrounding neighborhood has a great market with amazing cheeses and cured meats (I miss my speck!). Also a couple of bars, pastry shop and a spaghettaria just a hop away. Perfect spot for day trips and a place to call home while exploring. UNESCO part is a 20 minute walk away and extremely simple to navigate. Rooms have their separate, private baths and shares a common kitchen area as an apartment. Ours had a great terrace we spent a lot of time having breakfast, or afternoon wine and cheese. Looking forward to returning to Vicenza and using this again as a launch point to more of northern Italy. Applausi per la vita!

There is a market down the road where we purchased cheese, snacks, wine on top of the plentiful breakfast items and coffee, tea, etc. that were stocked by host. Plenty of good places to eat within walking distance. Bob and Jenny could not have been better hosts. We felt at home but even better we felt submerged in Italian culture so close to town in Vicenza. They even have a service for travel to and from train / airport. I can't say enough about our amazing stay. This is a great home base if you are considering travel to Venice, Verona, Florence and Pisa.
