Being out of the way is a big plus because it is a much quieter and peaceful place to eat a meal (they also have outdoor seating) than the other kebab places closer to the city center. Even though it is a little off the beaten path, it is only a couple minutes' walk from the center and is on the way to the Temple of Artemis, so it is a great place to stop and eat lunch. Their kebabs are served as a whole meal, with rice, vegetables, fries, and bread, so you definitely don't leave hungry!

So I sat down across from the old Roman aqueduct at Ejder Restaurant. The outside atmosphere was amazing. Kids riding scooters in pajamas, teen girls giggling and looking at phones, old men playing backgammon, and small-town nightlife with actual locals. I ordered some cheese cigars, a stuffed eggplant and a beer. Everything was delicious. In fact, it was too much food and all in less than $25. Sometimes I need to step back from the Michelin experience and go eat with the locals. This was a really rewarding experience.

Got here around 1 on a Thursday afternoon and it was quite although it slightly picked up by the time I was done. Spacious and mostly indoor seating. Ordered a Spicy Kebab and a lamb shish kebab for take away. Started with the Lavas bread freshly made in the wood fire oven. So light, hollow ballon resemblance and hot, paired perfectly with the delicious Haydari (yogurt sauce.) The spicy kebab (the most popular for the Turkish as my server shared) was similar to one that I had in Bodrum. Perfectly grilled, tender beef and spiced just right-seasoned and not really spicy. The Lamb shish kebab was also very tender and just right grilled. Loved the rice that came with the order. Paired it all with an Efes-local Pilsner Beer-crisp, cold and tasty. Service was attentive and upbeat. Make the short walk to this spot for some authentic, local deliciousness!

After being seated for 15 min we had to ask someone to simply give us a menu. We ordered food, juice and 2 Ayrans. Juice came after 20 min and Ayrans never came. The "special bread" which was Advertised As Their specialty never came. We told them multiple times about it but they ignored us by deceivingly saying that "It is coming" or avoiding our table. The 2 kebabs eventually came after 40 minutes. Then one of the servers accidentally gave our 2 other dishes (2 PIDE) to another table. The people on that table ate and touched the pide. After 5 minutes the waiter realized they made a mistake. Instead of giving us a full fresh new Pide they moved the eaten Pide from the wrong table (that was already eaten from) to ours. Everything happened in front of us and they thought we were not paying attention. We confronted them that we don't want it because those people have already eaten it. Yet, they ended up serving us the same exact thing by making a fool out of us. They pretended to take a fresh one out of the oven but it was the exact same one. When confronted, the owner walked away from us, with no apologies. We saw them give that same long "special" bread to another group who came after us (who were also more white appearing). Only when we mentioned that we were going to post a reveiw on google he said "I'm sorry brother". Food is ok nothing special. The guy and this place is a total ripoff. Travelers please be aware. Please don't come here. Be very careful the 5 star reviews are a scam. They are cheap and this can happen with anyone. I never write reveiws but this is the worst service I have encountered.
