I purchased a massage, facial and foot soak package, and have been kicking myself ever since for spending so much money on such terrible service.
The deep tissue I received from a male masseuse was actually great. I like deep tissue massages, and I really liked the massage portion of my package.
The facial, however, was a joke.
The best way I can explain it is that it seemed like a masseuse was giving a facial for the first time.
I've had a lot of facials, in fact, I currently have monthly facials through a local spa for $50 a month and the experience was very comparable. I expected a $288 facial to blow me away, and I couldn't have been more disappointed.
Here's a number of reasons for the horrible experience:
1. The woman who did the facial left the room 4 different times during the facial. The first time was for about 10 minutes while my face was getting steamed, the second was for about another 10 minutes while a mask was on my face, and the 3rd and 4th times were for about 5 minutes each. Essentially, I was only really receiving services for 50 minutes vs 80 minutes. In my experience, an aesthetician will typically massage your arms, hands, and/or shoulders while your face is steaming or while a mask is drying.
2. There was virtually no facial massage when putting on the various products. She would put something on my face, go in circles a couple times, then immediately take it off.
3. The woman who did the facial was extremely aggressive when taking the products off my face. In my experience, an aesthetician will typically place a warm towel around your face, let it sit for a couple seconds to loosen up the product, then gently wipe it off. She put the towel on part of my face, while starting to aggressively wipe the product off another part of my face.
4. Throughout the entire facial, the woman who did the facial was extremely loud, so the experience wasn't peaceful or relaxing at all. She rinsed her hands and possibly other items really loudly in the room, and made a lot of noise while getting towels, using products, etc...
5. None of the massages she did do lasted very long, which was disappointing considering the number of times she left the room.
To top it all off, I typically notice a difference in my skin immediately after getting a facial, and I haven't noticed any difference after the Ultimate Facial.
I honestly feel a bit ripped off based on the almost $550 I paid for the Ultimate Hideout experience.
