Just needed a hotel to stay for 1 night in Milano that was close to the train station (Centrale)…read more Since Yelp is just starting to get used in Italy, I had to use another review system to find these guys. (Sorry Yelp! I hate cheating on you!!) Requirements I needed, besides location, were a private bathroom, separate beds, breakfast, and the most important, free WiFi. Hotel Mondial fit the bill and wasn't too bad in price.
There isn't an elevator, so be prepared to carry your luggage up the flight of stairs to your room. The room was clean and located overlooking the street. The room did have air conditioning. The bed was okay and not lumpy. The bathroom is small, but that usually is the case when in Italy. (This is my third trip to Italy and I have seen a lot of bathrooms.) So if you are a larger person, you may want to request a bigger bathroom because it can only fit 2 really tiny people. But I do appreciate that there was a bidet. I love bidet!
Breakfast was pretty small. Any coffee drinks were an added charge. However, there are pastries, breads, yogurt, and juices. If you do drive, I think you have to park elsewhere. But the trams and buses are close by as well as the train station and metro station. For WiFi, you were given a code only valid for 12 hours. It was fine for us, but if you stay longer, you need to request another code. They do take credit card, but the city tax must be paid in Euro.
