    Beautifully repaired favorite hiking boots
    Glenn P.

How do I love this business? Let me count the ways. Seriously, I love Agabiti's Pennington Cobbler, and they're faster now than they have ever been. (Covid may have reduced the backlog.) (1) They fixed my favorite hiking boots. I should have taken a "before" photo. The soles were hanging off and they looked just awful. It was like bringing in a Gremlin and getting back a Maserati. See the photo. (2) Where else can you get this service? We're a disposable nation, but I spend a lot on shoes -- and, when I finally find comfortable shoes, I like to keep them. (3) It's locally run by craftsmen. Again, where else does this exist? (4) There's free street parking nearby. (5) They turned my boots around in one week. (6) I usually take my loafers to Agabiti three of four times until they can be repaired no longer. Then I wear them for yard work. I see that other reviewers frequently repair stilettos. There's something else going on in Pennington. Who knew? https://img.dotphoto.com/i/m/13A4D91B-43B8-4FAE-B464-7FA7A666DFB6/282824275.jpg

On Main Street, in the heart of the Borough of Pennington is an old fashioned shoe repair shop called Agabiti's Pennington Cobbler. The cobbler, owner Richard Agabiti, can be seen behind the counter busy at work. First, the facade of this store is very neat. It is bordered on both sides, left and right, by two up scale shops. When you enter the Agabiti's shop you are confronted by the aroma of tanned leather. Perched on shelves all around the shop are shoes and boots of every description. It is truly an old fashioned shoe repair shop and Mr. Agabiti fits the bill. He is a middle aged man wearing his green smock and holding his cobbling tools in hand. He is a very man with a pleasant and patient disposition. Despite be the only cobbler for miles around, his prices are reasonable and his workmanship is up to par. Don't look for a parking lot though, as there is none, except for street parking on the main street. The area is nice for you to walk around and look at the other shops nearby. I like this cobbler and his work. I rate this two thumbs up!

Took Chanel boots ruined by another cobbler and saved for another season! He added gusset and new zippers so they would match

A real hidden gem. One of the last few great cobblers around! Favorite shoes can stay favorite shows here!

This store has been there for ever and the years of experience shows when you get your shoes back. They definitely know what they are doing.

This place was the 1 that popped up with the best reviews. Indeed it is a tiny hole in the wall joint. It is very easy to miss. It's literally a little house next to the TD bank that's right next to Vito's pizza. You walk in & immediately the smell of rubber & shoe polish slaps you in the face. Eventually an old little man comes to to help you. He's very short & direct with his customer services skills but looks like he knows what he's doing from the wear & tear on his hands & face. I hand him my $300 boots from a couple seasons ago that I love & tell him I want to resole them & shine them up. Basically make them look new again bc all the salt & snow from last year really did a number on the soles. He looks them over & tells me, "It's going to cost a lot." I ask how much & he tells me $45. I tell him these are good, expensive boots that are worth it. You have to leave 50% deposit on your job. I decided to pay the full amount & that way I can just pick them up when I come back next week for them. I'll finish up my review next week when I pick them up & report on the work it self. But I'm sure it will be quite promising as these mom&pop places are always the best at doing these jobs. ******** As expected, my boots look good as new. Nicely shined with we soles that will last me another season. Thank you!!

I took my wedding shoes here after getting a recommendation from my dry cleaners. My shoes had gotten a little muddy on my wedding day. I brought them to Mr. Ercolini, told him they were my wedding shoes and asked if he thought he'd be able to clean them. He said he would try. I said that's fine and paid the $45 and left my shoes with him. When they were ready I picked them up, he handed them to me in box and I went to my car and looked at them and he had painted them. I called my husband in shock and reevaluated them at home to see how bad they were. They were terrible. They were patchy and chalky and discolored. I called him immediately the same day and asked him what he did, what products he used and that he painted my shoes which we had not talked about. He called me back claiming the humidity might have done something and that that was all he would say over phone and asked that I come back so I could show him in person which my husband and I did. We showed him the shoes and explained why we were dissatisfied. He offered to try and remove the paint. We agreed to allow him to try and rectify it. When we went to pick them up again there was still paint splotches on the shoes. They still looked terrible. When we pointed this out and voiced that it seemed he'd done irreparable damage he got very nasty and tried to gaslight us and push us off on another shoe professional. He said we were overreacting about a simple pair of shoes that don't matter. My wedding shoes. He denied there was still paint, he denied that he ruined the shoes. I told him I never consented to him painting my shoes and that he should have called me to confirm before doing a process we had not agreed upon. He did not stand by his work and he did not even offer the refund of the $45 service let alone the damage to the product. The entire experience was appalling.
