Established in 2024.

After-Hours Bookstore was born from a love of literature and a deep desire to bring a bookstore back to the Imperial Valley. Frustrated by the lack of a local bookstore, I, Tiffany, set out to create a space where our community could find books that reflect their voices, interests, and stories. Thanks to the incredible support of family-owned Desert Paints, After-Hours found a home in downtown El Centro, transforming into a cozy literary haven after the paint shop closes. Every book on our shelves is handpicked with you in mind—titles that inspire, educate, and celebrate the Imperial Valley. This bookstore belongs to our community, and I hope it continues to grow alongside it for many years to come. This one is for you, Imperial Valley!

My name is Tiffany Rodriguez, and I’m the proud owner of After-Hours Bookstore. Born and raised in El Centro, CA, I still call the Imperial Valley home, where I live with my amazing husband, our gecko Julian, and the cherished memories of our beloved dog, Slash. Owning a bookstore wasn’t always my dream, but serving my community and giving back has always been my passion. My love for literature led me to this exciting journey of opening a bookstore right in my hometown. Thanks to the incredible support of family-owned Desert Paints, After-Hours Bookstore now has a home in the heart of downtown. I’m thrilled and honored to be your new local bookstore owner.
