Dr. Gamboa writes about his ER patients, one of whom came in, a young man who was wheeled in after his quad flipped over in the sand dunes of Imperial Valley. Great bookstore and a good read for people who can see past labels and delve into life, and the instances when all one's assumptions and ideas about our own invincibility are called into question. The book is written by a well-respected surgeon who has been humbled by what he has seen in life and death situations. He draws the reader to come to regard what becomes an inevitable conclusion as science steps beyond the unknown.

I found the new store bright, updated and lively (as much as a bookstore can be). It's also located in where I call the "hub" of the Foothills; centrally located near interesting stores and main roads. This should help greatly when the Winter Visitors arrive in droves to Yuma. I look forward to returning visits. I'm happy for its new location. For those with at least a passing interest in all things book related, I'd recommend checking the store out.

Love the smell and atmosphere of a used book store. Makes you wonder how many people owned the book you purchased and how far in travels it got before landing here at Bandana books. Could have spent hours in there but was rushed for time,had a piercing booked. Owner was so helpful while he poured/drank his Coke soft drink,lol. Ended up finding a beauty.
