If a teenage boy declares that this is his "favorite shop in Indianapolis," that means a lot. If he…read morealso says that he could spend all day in your shop and not get bored, you probably have something good going. It's hard to impress teenage boys. I'm not a teenage boy (as far as you know), but I also think Disc Replay is quite neat. It has an amazing collection of used video games for a variety of platforms, like Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo DS, Gameboy, Wii, and even games for systems that old heads like me were brought up on, like the original Nintendo, Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. The prices for these used games are suuuuuper good. Like, I was seeing price tags with $1.99 and $3.99 on them. We picked up a Plants vs. Zombies Nintendo DS game for $14.99, which according to my kid was a good price for a game he really wanted. They sell everything from refurbished Meta Quest VR headsets to Tamagotchi, which I didn't even know kids played still! Wow! A blast from the past. That's another thing: If you're a person of a certain age and you want to wax nostalgic about your middle school/high school years to the teenager you brought with you, visit Disc Replay. In the back of the store are aisles and aisles of used DVDs and Blu-Ray movies. My teenager asked me if this is what Blockbuster used to look like. Bless his heart. I said no and patiently described the wonder that was Blockbuster. Kids today just won't ever know; it's a dang shame. But thankfully, physical media is still a thing, and if you want to pick up a DVD copy of You Don't Mess with the Zohan, you can do that here. The people who work at Disc Replay are friendly and know their stuff. They answered our questions, and you can tell they don't only sell video games and movies, but they partake in this culture, too.

I decided to buy a new console here, a big purchase. Very exciting. The store clerk tells me that a…read moremembership would make the purchase cheaper overall due to the membership points you get for it for next purchase, so I do end up getting one. After this, he offers an extended warranty as well- I refuse the extended warranty, and the cashier makes fun of this decision, refusing to go along with the purchase until I accept, and encourages my friends to also make fun of me. I still don't buy it, so eventually we continue with the purchase. He then tells me that one of my items a pre-order, so I would need to come back for it later. I remove this item from the purchase, but he initially refuses. He argues, "You're spending less money for it, since it's a preorder, though." After a bit of back and forth and confusion with this, I finally get the item removed without really knowing what he was talking about. I would later find out that he said this because you pay part of the price on pre-order, and the rest when you pick it up. *That* is why he phrased it as, "you're spending less money for it", because I would be breaking up the purchase into two parts... so he was telling a misleading lie. No, it's not cheaper to pre-order, even though he was egging me into it for being "less money". So that felt scummy. That, along with the warranty business, already felt already like an annoying experience. However, it got worse when I realized that he never registered my order to my Gamestop account. What this meant is that I was given the membership (For $25) but none of the benefits. I call customer support, and proceed to have the most infuriating customer support experience of my life. Over an hour. That's how long I spent in customer support. They attempt to hang up on me more than a dozen times, saying, "I hadn't waited for the order to appear, and should wait 72 hours after purchase". I made my call over a week from my purchase. They tell me to do "basic troubleshooting" to solve my issue myself over and over, and over again. I experienced emotions I did not think possible. I gave them my receipt, and they even tried to tell me that no points would be awarded, because my items were a "digital purchase" (referring to my game console). I feel like I'm in a courtroom or something. They say that they can't do anything without my order number, but I never got an order number, because the order was never registered to my account. That was the entire issue. Even with my receipt, and my offers to give them anything I have, they still refuse to use it to help. After about 45 minutes, it is discovered that the points were never registered to my account, but rather to a different, duplicate account. They then say that the issue should resolve itself and try and hang up. I have to interrupt them over and over to keep them on the line to do something, anything, to try and help. They continuously tell me that I should log in on different devices, and that would likely solve it, but I had already done that, and they continuously try and hang up on me through my increasingly desperate words. At the end of the call, they say, "ah, it may be a glitch in the system" and then say that they will "merge my accounts" and that it would only take "a few minutes". They then proceed to hang up. I have received no email or anything after this 24 hours later. I don't think I could ever effectively summarize this experience. I wish I had gone anywhere else. This reminds me of sketchy car dealership places. The clerks are salespeople, not cashiers, and I feel bad for them for it. I regret making such a big purchase here. Oh, and the membership points that would make my purchase cheaper in the long run, totaled up to $15 worth, for the $25 membership purchase. So even that was a scam. I should've gone anywhere else, and I recommend you do the same. Even if you think you avoid a scam part of your purchase, you very possibly would have fallen for another. There was no benefit to me coming here and I regret my decision wholeheartedly.
