Been wanting to write a review on Valerie since my plastic surgery a few months ago in 2015. Just been soo busy. I came from out of town to a great plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills CA and did not have anybody to come and care for me after surgery. I did my research on Yelp and found Valerie. Thank God! It was scary at first to hire a stranger to care for me in such vulnerable conditions and 6 hrs away from home! But when I spoke with her over the phone I realized how professional, classy, caring, and experienced she is and I took a chance. I do not regret it at all. We kept in touch throughout the process, the day I arrived to BH she called and to check on me. She volunteered to go with me to my pre-op appt. The day of the surgery, she picked me up and took care of me at the hotel for various hours that night. She came prepared with snacks, water, first aid kit, straws, and anything I could possibly need. I was hurting, nauseous, and extremely tired and sleepy. She woke me up every so often to give me my meds, water, and food. She woke me up before she left and asked if I wanted her to stay longer. She truly showed genuine concern for me and asked me to call her any time I needed anything. She called me every day for the next few days to check how I was healing. Also, she was great company, she is personable, humble, very intelligent, knowledgeable, and with a good sense of humor. In all honesty, side by side with my family, she is the best choice for after care. read more

I wish I had never met Valerie Mehlman, buyer beware! My experience with her was the biggest nightmare of my life. She didn't know what she was doing and had to constantly call somebody. At times she was downright rude to me! I can't say for sure' but 2 weeks after Ms. Mehlman was in my house My identity got taken. 2. months after she was with me, my house got robbed with no sign of forced entry. I was given pain killers after my surgery that knocked me out and I have no idea what Ms. mehlman was doing while I was sleeping! Since then , I have went back to the coordinator the plastic surgeon uses and she said they don't use her anymore because she's trouble. Do your research before you let somebody have free range of your house while you are knocked out! read more

I had scheduled a surgery and thought that my Mom would be able to help me. I stayed at an after care facility for the first 24 hours, but really felt I needed extra help once I got home. My Mom did not feel like she could do some of the things that were necessary. The coordinator at my surgeon's office recommended Valerie and After, After Care. Valerie was so right when she said that family and friends are not always the best choice to take care of you after surgery. Valerie stepped right up to the plate and took care of everything including my medication schedule, food and nutritional needs. She took care of all of my needs and made me feel calm, safe and comfortable. I would definitely refer them to my friends and associates! read more

Originally i was referred by my surgeon to other home health agencies. However they weren't prompt with the scheduling. Luckily I found this company through Yelp. When i called, Valerie was able to assist and book my appointment immediately. During the day of the surgery Valerie picked me up from my house early morning as we agreed. She drove me to the surgery center 40 minutes before the surgery to avoid the monday traffic jam. She stayed with me to make sure i made it inside the operating room. After the surgery, Irwin(Valerie's coworker) drove me home, assisted me as i walked towards my room and gave me protein smoothies to help with recovery. I needed someone to take care of me for my surgery, so I found Valerie from Yelp. She got back to me soon, and the scheduling was very convenient. The day of my surgery, she drove me to the doctor, and she also picked me up from the recovery room. She is such a sweet lady! The recovery process wasn't fun, but she is very professional and managed all my meals, medicine, and activities. I had a meltdown several days after surgery, she tried to calm me down, and it worked. Overall my recovery is fast and smooth thanks to her. If you ever want a nice recovery and some privacy, she is the one to help you! Valerie also provides a lot of information to give you the best advice. I am really glad I found her. read more

I have used Valerie twice now and just when I thought that the caring and service couldn't get any better, she outdid herself the second time a few weeks ago, and I am so happy that I met her and hired her.
