Besides readily available items, there are many common island ingredients: okra, peppers (Scotch bonnets, sweet, pimento), dasheen bush, callaloo leaf, and thyme. Groceries include many varieties of grains, salted fish (dry and wet in bag), sauces and seasonings, spices, snacks, and canned and jarred goods, and among them, plentiful Caribbean imports. It feels rushed and unwelcoming, especially when you're being hurried out of the store, while other patrons don't seem to get the same treatment. That inconsistency is hard to ignore. The people actually making the sandwiches are decent and do their job well. Unfortunately, the experience falls apart at the front. The cashiers are noticeably unfriendly, which leaves a bad impression and overshadows the food. Good sandwiches, poor customer service.
