This involved a vent pipe being run through the roof. -- This winter we had some leaking that looked like ice dams. We called Golden Group and they sent some people over. They quickly diagnosed the problem as something about the gasket around the new vent pipe (not ice dams, yay!). We thought we had a leak in the roof, they sent out a guy named Shane whom my husband stated was very nice and he came out within 4 days, went on the roof twice evidently to take pictures - told my husband what the leak was caused from (chimney) it needed a cover and diverter and yet never took measurements for said cover... the two times he was on the roof. He came back with a quote of 1400 but when my husband said we're selling the house - he would prefer to just do the minimal since the roof is new and my husband soaked in enough into the house within a year, then all of a sudden he came back with he needed to come back out to take measurements and that if it's not the standard top ... which my friend who's in HVAC stated was 9 inches (and said when I showed him pictures- it was standard) then it would have to be custom ...costing more. Couldn't quote a price - said maybe 425 if it was standard. But had to talk to his boss. Well wouldn't you know what the price would be if you were quoting 1400 for the diverter and top- and now you don't know what it is without the diverter aspect? It seems to me if the job is too small they'll make excuses 4 times as to why they didn't show up. Tell the truth, you'd be respected more. Not reliable. They don't keep their word. Wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.

He agreed to use them and, unfortunately, some of the shingles he received were stained (not Matt's fault). Throughout our whole issue with the shingle company, Matt was an advocate for us. We were very impressed with the level of respect, integrity and follow-through Matt demonstrated. I am certain other contractors wouldn't have handled this situation in such an admirable way. It's situations like we had that truly show the type of person you are working with and I'm so glad we hired Matt.
