Mr. Harold was professional, friendly and did a great job on our front door after it was damaged. His quote was more than fair and I even offered another $20 because of his generosity. He offered to touch up the door frame with paint at no additional cost, but unfortunately we were out. If I could give 0 stars for this company, I would. Over a year ago I met Harold W. Kuykendall, owner of Affordable One Stop Handyman at a rental truck place and he gave me his business card. I just closed on my house on March 23,2020 so I called him to give me a quote on installing 2 ceiling fans in my bedrooms. He finally responded and I texted him my address. He came the follow day, March 24, 2020 in the afternoon(he was hours late). After he decided to give himself a tour of my home to find things he could potentially repair, I asked him to look at my side door to my garage because it appeared to be stuck/ a little difficult to open. He came around to the front entrance door and put his body weight on my door in which he completely broke my door frame. I had two witnesses there who saw also saw this unprofessional action. He promised he would return and bring the supplies needed to repair my door frame. After he left my home, I never saw or heard from him again. I called and left messages and texted but no Harold the handyman. I continued to call and over a period of 3 weeks, after calling again, he responded and claimed he would stop by after he finished a job in Arlington,TX. I called him that evening, and once again he stated he would come later that night or the next morning. I said the next morning and guess what he NEVER showed Nor called/texted. Once again I called leaving a message and texted. He finally called and lashed me out, telling me some family problems were beyond his control, which has NOTHING to Do with his obligation to repair the door frame he broke. He then stated he was not going to Argue with me on the phone" and that I must have"woke up with an attitude. I only had one word to say which was "wow." I didn't get an opportunity to say anything else because he did All the jabbering. He hung up the phone after he argued with himself. He sees himself innocent of all charges and refuses to repair or pay for the door damages HE KNOW HE MADE. And guess what else, he calls himself a pastor of some One Church International, unbelievable!!! God forbid..... Now here is a person claiming to be a handyman: came to my New Home, busted open my door and Broke MY DOOR FRAME, No CALLS, ( only 1 return call but arguing at me) NO REPAIRS to my New Home and I HAVE an ATTITUDE? What????. This person is stone crazy. If you need a handyman, I DO NOT RECOMMEND Harold Kuykendall @ Affordable One Stop Handyman. I'm sure I am NOT the only one he RIPPED OFF. I'm just bold enough to stand up to his lies and unprofessional work ethics. I contacted my lawyer so looks like we Are going to court. Cedric was a bit late for his appointment, but he was able to start immediately and complete the job quickly. But most importantly, he saved us a lot of money. He only charged us $200 for a job that I had feared would have cost us upwards of $2000. After an accident had left the interior door to our garage unusable, I was eager to get it fixed. We had left messages with a few other contractors from Angieslist but everyone was busy for the next few weeks. We were just about ready to give up when our real estate agent recommended Cedric to us. Not only was he able to begin right away, but he finished the entire job the same day that he started it. He replaced our door and wooden doorway, some structural wood inside the walls as well as the drywall. He had to take a couple of trips to Home Depot to get supplies, and the temperature in the garage was extremely hot, but he never complained. I really wanted to get everything done the same day, so I told him that I did not really care about the finish in the garage, since we will likely paint the entire house before we put it on the market. He agreed and stayed until 7pm to complete the entire job. Everything was structurally sound and he did not even charge us extra to install an additional lock on the door.
