Scheduled our move with Affordable Movers at least 2 weeks in advance of our moving out date. They called us the day before to confirm the move and method of payment. Day of the move, Johnny calls around 7:00a.m to tell us they are behind schedule and if we would be okay to move on Sunday instead of Saturday. We totally understood and agree for them to show up between 2-3 on Sunday afternoon. They never called Sunday, so we reach out 2hrs before 2:00p.m. Call again around 2:30p.m. with no response from them. Call numerous times, each going to voicemail. Affordable Movers never showed up. This company was hired to move my grandmother's belongings from her house to a facility just a few miles down the road, to an assisted living facility. Well on the day they were supposed to pick up my grandmothers belongings they just decided to "NOT" show up; no courtesy call to apologize or at least a text letting us know. When we called them we were told that they were held up at a previous job. That was at least believable, but to just leave my 92yo grandmother and brother hanging was VERY RUDE. The representative told us that they could be there the next day if that was okay. It wasn't okay, but what choice did we have? The next day comes and to no surprise they didn't show up again. No matter how big or small the job is this company should honor their word when they say they're going to help people, ESPECIALLY AN ELDERLY PERSON!!!! Trash company doesnt even deserve 1 star. This Johnny guy is shady and complete trash. Says one thing and then charges completely different. He Over chargers and adjusts the time to benefit him. First he was late! And then claims the start time is when he calls. So he stated my start time was 10:15am when he called, he didnt get to my place until 10:25am. How does that make sense? I dont even know where your coming from how would my start time be the drive to me??? Also when they finished unloading my belongings in the storage unit it was 12:12pm. He stated I owed him for 2.5hours. So $175 for 2 hours and $75 for it being over, total pay of $250. Which is a lie I should have only been charged the $175, for 10:15 to 12:15... I call him at 12:21pm and he states the time ended at 12:25pm, how if we are done and I'm back at my apartment?.. hes a LIAR and will charge you over. Do not hire this shitty ass dude. I have texts for proof too!!! He says my cell phone time must be off.. stupid fool but the 10:15 call was correct just not the 12:21 call. Complete idiot and liar. read more

This so called moving company, is nothing short of a fraudulent business that steals money from potential customers. I scheduled them to move me on 02-11-2023, they were to arrive at 9am. After calling that morning informing me that they were running late, all they were doing was unloading at a residence. I waited, and waited and waited. Excuses. I waited because Johnny Vasquez kept telling me it would be just another hour. Then 30 minutes, only to finally say they were not coming 6:05 pm because he couldn't work with "difficulty" people. $250 deposit and he refuses to refund me my money. Money he stole from me.... Just recently widowed. Johnny obviously needed the money but to steal it only leaves to wonder what else they steal as they move other peoples personal items. Affordable Movers we're recommended to me so I didn't check out the reviews or the BBB. I definitely should have. The BBB has rated them with an F. Johnny Vasquez gave me an amount over the phone, gave me another price when he got to my apartment and then gave me another amount when they got to my new residence which was almost double from the first amount. Then he tells me his "boss" called him and asked if he needed to come to collect the money! It felt kind of threatening to me. Some pieces of my furniture were damaged, a few boxes had holes in them, plates were broken even though I wrote "China-Fragile on the outside of the box. These guys didn't care. When I got to my new residence I was waiting on them and finally called to see what happened to them. They said they stopped to put fuel in the truck. Who does that after you have already loaded your truck??? Just another way to get more money. When he was getting ready to leave he told me to text him my email address and he would send the receipt. I have yet to receive my receipt or even get any response from them. Please do not use these people!!!! They are liars and very dishonest people to do business with. read more

MILITARY FAMILIES BEWARE!!! We went with Johnny at the recommendation from the Uhaul Storage Unit and didn't think to look up reviews because of that. Looking back, I wish I had because he completely took advantage of my husband and I. I was with the movers while my husband was checking in on base. When the movers were just about finished, I asked my husband to drop by with cash to pay the owner (Johnny) while I left to grab some lunch. The owner then quoted my husband a price that was over $220 over than he had originally quoted to me before we hired him. My husband paid him because he trusted that he was not trying to take advantage of him, and then they drove off. When I called him back to ask why he overcharged us, he made up some extra charges and fees that he had never discussed with us or told us about. Unfortunately my husband had paid him in cash (at his request) and so there really wasn't anything that we can do. To make it worse, my husband was in his military uniform at the time, and I had just told the owner earlier that morning that I had lost my job because we received PCS relocation orders, which made me even more upset that the owner (Johnny) took advantage of us like that. One star is waaaaay too good for this company. By far the worst moving experience of my life. If u like having the price jacked up with out notice simply because "you have a lot of stuff" then this is your company. I didn't realize when being paid by the hour the rates go up because they actually had to work during those hours?? They took the longest amount of time to move me and got the least amount done. I have never had to make multiple trips myself. They took longer and didn't get to he usual stuff other companies easily completed. They kept numerous items in the truck and left with them because they were "tired" and they refuse to bring these items back to me. Refuse to give me Their insurance info so I can have them replaced. I question if they even have insurance at this point. They r disgustingly in professional and called me "sweetie" . Johnny invited himself up for a drink after the move which was shocking g and clearly out of line. He was in the phone the entire time his guys were working and then brought in a fourth guy without confirming I could cover the cost. Got some lame excuse of prior day move the owner didn't have keys so they had to go unload that morning. They would be there at 10. 10:30 I call. "Still running behind". I recommend not hiring this company. I recently hired Affordable Movers and was disappointed after being charged for a hidden fees. When I first called Johnny Vasquez I specifically asked him what his rate was and he replied, it would be $75.00 per hr. per man and he would have a 3 man crew. I explained during our phone conversation and two different text that I had two large pallets loaded with equipment and asked if he had a pallet jack and his response was yes and that he would bring one for the job. When they arrived they had no pallet jack but claimed he could pick one up near by. After his 2 employees argued that they could lift the pallets on to a 4 wheel dolly and failed, I explained once again that these were 2 heavy loads and this is why I had requested a pallet jack for the job. After finally struggling with the first load for over an hour on their sub par pallet jack they found they had to lighten the load on the second pallet in order to load it. When the job was completed Johnny claimed he was charging me an extra fee for the loading of specialty items. When I asked what he meant by "specialty items" he mentioned the two pallets. Once again, for the third time I had to explain to him that I had been up front about the two pallet during our first conversation on the cell. He had never mentioned there would be extra fees for "specialty items". I told him that's wrong and not a good way to be be conducting business. He apologized and said he would remember that next time to which I replied, there probably won't be a next time if that's the way you're going to run your business with hidden fees. I could have called him out on it as we had nothing in writing but I gave him the benefit of the doubt although I found Johnny to be shady and disreputable. Moral of the story, do not take this man's handshake or his word and next time, make sure to get in writing! read more

They told me it would be taken out if their paychecks and they couldn't afford the hit because of their personal circumstances. It makes me upset thinking about the way I got hustled. When hiring Johnny beware. I had originally hired another company, but they had a last minute major emergency so they referred us to these guys. I called Johnny and asked him his price he said $85/hr 3 men. I thought it was a great deal and expected to pay between $450-$600 since I packed my entire house and boxes were ready to move. 3 bedroom, smaller furniture, with only 2 us living there no kids. Well Johnny, the owner, said they also had no minimum hour charges or other fees as some other movers do. He split my home in half did one half one day and one the other. The first day he took 5 hours which should have been $425+ tax. He ended up charging $595. Claimed he had minimums now and some other fees he said he didn't have previously. I called him out on it still not adding up and said he'd correct it the next day. Well. The next day he only took 3 hours and charged for 4 and didn't correct anything. I paid almost a grand for a move that was budgeted at max $600. Even Two Men and A Truck and some other movers who charge more than him had quoted me much less than him. All this to move a packed house to a storage unit. We also have white furniture and he did not wrap any of it except my sofa, fridge, and one huge glass. All my white furniture was damaged and he dented my dryer. He damaged a water line at the house and I had to get it fixed. He tried to have me hire his cousin to fix it. Uh no. He kept asking me the worth of homes in the neighborhood. I guess if he sees it's a nice place he charges more. I definitely felt very much scammed. Hundreds of dollars of my valuable personal property was missing after my move. Johnny Vasquez and his crew of 3 loaded and unloaded everything from residence to residence. I discovered my missing items when I was unpacking. I called Johnny to report my missing property only to be disrespected by Johnny. He constantly interrupted me, he refused to take responsibility, he denied my claim and refused to release owner and insurance info and disconnected the call, he hung up on me. I contacted BBB to file a complaint and discovered that this company rated an F. I also discovered other online negative reviews ..one for not responding to other complaints and another complaint of a credit card overcharge . I rate this company minus 5 stars. read more

this company is horrible. i booked a week in advance and never showed up. he kept making excuses. i kept calling and texting an no response. so the whole day was loss. so my son says he will help carry my king size mattress for me and falls and injured his ankle. johnny is responsible for my sons injury. johnny finally calls me late that evening to give me another excuse and says will call me in the morning to move my things. again didn't hear from him. so i called another company american movers who helped me move same day. they were quick and awesome!!!!! they kept in touch with me through out the day. oh yeah before i forget american movers were also assisting another client that was going through the same thing with the same movers. don't ever use this company!!!!!!!!!!! read more

DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!! Not only is the owner, Johnny Vasquez, unprofessional, he is an absolute low life! We originally scheduled our move with Awesome Moving (don't call them either), but on the morning of the move Johnny called to say that Calvin of Awesome Moving had passed the job on to him. With such short notice we didn't have much choice but to but have Affordable Moving moves us. The problem started the evening after the move when I could not find my Samsung tablet that my daughter had left on the sofa. I called Johnny and he claimed he didn't know anything about it, that his crew wouldn't have taken it, and even suggested that I made up the missing tablet to try and get some money out of him. I hung up on him when he started yelling at me. I thought it was all done but later that night, around midnight, Johnny texted me and said that if I posted any negative reviews, he would tell everyone that he found drugs in my apartment. So not only is he claiming no responsibility for my missing property, now he is using threats to try and intimidate me!
