The hospital case manager recommended Home Instead when he saw my stress as we were trying to figure out who would care for mom when we couldn't be there. I scoured every website and checked other places out, but no reviews compared to the across the board positive reviews for Home Instead. Still skeptical that any place could be that good, I gave them a call. Every single interaction with them was professional, responsive, and thorough. The team assigned to mom was first rate: they helped her on her walks (mom was a significant fall risk), with showers, meals, chores around the house, transported her to a doctor appointment, reminded her to take her meds, etc. When we asked to change the schedule because of various other doctor appointments, they were flexible and understanding. Most of all, we really needed folks we could TRUST and Home Instead exceeded our expectations. The owners and staff at Home Instead should be beyond proud of the service they deliver -- in my view the gold star standard that other custodial care businesses should try and achieve. I'm so thankful Home Instead was there for us in our time of need. Because of Home Instead, we had piece of mind. Thankfully, mom is now able to be much more independent than the weeks following surgery. I believe that Home Instead aided the healing process and recommend them without a single reservation. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS, I WOULD…read more.. AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS... My 90 year old Mom had Right Knee replacement surgery in late April 2019. It went VERY well. Before she left the rehab hospital, they let her free roam because she was progessing so well. After she got home in early May, she was up and walking with a walker, getting in an out of bed with very little assistance, walking outsde up to 1/4 mile at a time. After a couple of weeks home, a Therapist from Armonia showed up and was very Rude, Loud and Rough. She told my mom that she was going to "break up the scar tissue" in the knee. So, she pushed and prodded and squezzed very hard. When my mom commented that she was very strong, she procalimed proudly "Yes I am!" My mom had mentioned that her grandson had just received his Master's Degree. The Therapist shot back with, "My Grandson has 4 Masters Degrees." Whether it's true or not does not matter. She acted like she just had to "One Up" the patient. We also had a Live In Helper who witnessed her rudeness and mentioned to the therapist that she was much later than the appointment said. The Therapist asked my Mom if "that Lady" had to be there because she didn't like to be talked to like that. Her attitude aside, the Therapist ended up damaging my mom's knee. She called me that evening saying she could not walk any more. A follow up visit with her Ortho Surgeon showed that the Patella Tendon was detatched and her Patella was well above where it should be. This required one more surgery the first week of June 2019 to repair the torn tendon, but that surgery did not hold together after she went to a rehab hospital.. That review will follow on that rehab hospital's website. (Las Palmas Rehabilitaion Hospital) But, all this and the third surgery are a result of the unprofessional skills and uncaring attitude of the woman Therapist from Armonia. So, my warnings is AVOID THESE POEPLE FOR YOUR PHYSICAL THERAPY NEEDS!

The local management is only concerned about money, not providing quality caregivers. They sent…read moreuntrained employees to my aunt's house and noted orientation on their invoice but charged for every hour. There was no orientation. Basically left the caregivers to figure out what to do. When one caregiver didn't bother showing up, one of the managers came and stayed with my aunt but did nothing to help her. Guess they didn't want to lose out on billing 6 hours @$25 per hour. Where does one find caregivers who are trained in how to help a patient, who actually want to help a patient, and who are consistent without the agency sending different people because of turnover? One so called caregiver actually yelled at my aunt because my aunt didn't have bottled water at her house. Good thing I wasn't there as I would have booted her out the door! Wish family could be there 24/7 but all of us work. Caring senior service deserves a zero rating.
