My ex-husband wanted 50% of our daughter's SSI ; If you know ANYTHING about SSI, it is federal law that you can NOT give SSI monies to ANY individual under ANY circumstances, including another parent, when you are your child's "Guarantor", or your child will lose their funds completely. Christy, was NOT prepared and lost my case to an appointed Commissioner on the bench. She looked at me and said "That's the way it is", when the Commisioner made the order. I then hired a different attorney, who turned that train around. Now there are laws in place that protect disabled individuals (children) from having their benefits play apart in divorce monies. SHAME on Christy. My experience: She doesn't NOT fight to protect your children. She doesn't fight to make sure the law and your rights are upheld. I believe she perhaps collaborates with opposing counsel to determine the outcome, without you knowing. She was not a good attorney in my case. This was my experience with Christy.

By 16 my mother was homeless, and that meant so was I, after a year on the street I became pregnant, now with no education, no stability, a baby on the way & no relationship with my father because of the long court process and the manipulation of the courts by my mother and Ms Vance herself. I was left alone and abandoned by the person who was framed "FIT" . I'm not 28 and I haven seen my mother in years , i've worked extremely hard to repair the damages in mine and my father's relationship, I'm a great mother, but a struggle with my own traumas, and I do feel like my trauma's were at the end of the court system and Miss Vance herself, I know you probably hear a lot from parents who feel like they were wrong by attorneys, but do you ever hear from the kids who were affected 15 years later and I'm still struggling, I still have nightmares, I've been through things that could've been avoided. Had my attorney been more involved and maybe listened more to what I had to say instead of what my mother had to say. I do not feel like the intentions behind what happened to me were good. I feel like they were done in bad faith. I don't believe that if I had of been placed with my dad that my life would be the way it is today. I feel like I was robbed of a childhood by the court system and by the attorney who is appointed to me, the people who are supposed to protect me and make sure I was OK when my mother did not.!!! miss Vance hope you know you have affected me as a child, and it has followed me into my adulthood in ways that cannot be fixed, I still think about you to this day and I will never forget your name. And that is not a good thing.
