Dr. Bobby was the doctor that was assigned to me, he's a great listener to all my health issue and recommends what needs to be done. He always gives hope as long as I follow the plan, which I did religiously. No more Fibromyalgia, no fatigue, no pains on my knees, less eating and lost weight. I have more energy and can exercise now. My incontinence was a lot lesser than before. The major thing is having a quality sleep every night, feeling refreshed when I wake up and full of energy. I'm back to who I'm 10 years ago. More power to Alterna Care and their team! Trust and Believe is the Key to a better health.

AlternaCare is the biggest scam in healthcare I've ever experienced. I was interested in the…read moreprogram based on the owner's testimony about his own failing health and recovery. I booked the appointment online and on the day of the appointment was contacted by a man named Brian who identified himself as a case manager. He told me a great story about the services they offer at the low price of $2114 which included two comprehensive health tests; a health assessment, analysis and 90-day comprehensive personal health plan; and five visits with an MD. He explained that after the first visit with the MD, I would be provided with a list of recommended supplements and food plan to address my health concerns. I was hopeful that this program would finally be the solution i have been seeking for years. However, my hope became disappointment when I received my plan and a follow-up call from Brian to "close" the deal. The recommended supplements, AlrernaCare's own proprietary blends not available anywhere else, would cost me nearly $4000 for this 90-day program. I was shocked to say the least. I don't have $4000 to spend on supplements, but of course Brian encouraged me to use my CareCredit account to pay for them, an account he encouraged me to open during our first meeting to pay for the tests. I immediately became very aware that AlternaCare's program had everything to do with making money and little to do with helping those in need overcome their health challenges and concerns. If you have this kind of money to pay out of pocket for a program like this, go for it. However, I urge you to be very cautious as you move forward and document your results, if you have any, during and after you complete this program. Now I'm stuck. I have a personalized health plan; but I'm unable to complete it as I can't afford $4000 for supplements which I can't substitute with other less expensive options AND I'm obligated to pay for the initial $2114 fee for the initial tests and doctor's visits that I won't be able to use without the tools to complete the 90 day program that I charged on my CareCredit account. I believe AlternaCare uses deceptive marketing practices to lure people in to get them to sign up for the 90 day program without providing them with the whole truth about the horrific and unreasonable costs that follow the initial doctor's consultation. They don't tell you that you will be required to use their proprietary blend supplements to receive the results they promise nor do they tell you about the embellished costs of the supplements. I hope this review saves people money and the disappointment that will follow for not being able to afford the cost of the supplements and achieve the optimal health promised.

I went there on a Friday in April 2026 because I had pain in one of my molars. They looked at my teeth and told me I had a cracked filling. They said they'd put a temp crown on, then do an impression of the tooth & send it to a lab to make a new crown, which would take 1 month. While I was in the chair, they also started doing a periodontal charting exam - which I didn't ask for & didn't want. They told me I had 'scaling with moderate to severe inflammation,' & advised I'd need a $736 treatment. A web search reveals the grading scale, which shows the 4's the hygienist was calling out require better hygiene, not almost $800 of treatment. I told them I didn't want all these things done, just my molar fixed. They were very pushy & kept insisting I needed this treatment. I asked if I could pay for part of it - just the crown - & they told me I had to finance the entire amount up front. Their total plan, before insurance, was $6,386. After insurance, $4,175 for 2 crowns & periodontal disease I don't have. Because I was anxious & in pain, I agreed to the total. I was thinking in the back of my mind that I'd get the amount approved, then get the molar replaced & refuse the other treatment. I didn't realize when they said 'approved,' it meant I'd be on the hook for the entire bill - and their finance company charges almost 30% interest. They did the prep & put in the temp crown & took an impression for the perm one. They told me it'd be 4 weeks before the new crown would be ready. I called my insurance company Saturday & the rep let me know the crown Sage chose - without consulting me - for $1765 - isn't covered by my insurance, but a comparable one is for $420. The treatment plan they printed shows the amounts covered, so they knew. I drove back to Sage Monday morning. I came in with all my notes & I recorded the whole encounter on my (concealed) phone. Georgia code 16-11-66 says it's okay to record if you're part of the conversation. The office manager tried to get me to go into a private room & I refused. I told her I want an itemized bill, I want the payment plan canceled, & I'll pay for the services already performed. She told me I had to pay the full cost for the crown, $1888.00. She told me they were charging me the full amount even though I told her that wasn't acceptable because it had been less than a full business day since the crown was ordered, & the impression taken would've had to be shipped to the lab where the permanent crown is fabricated. I told her I'd pay the shipping if she could produce a bill of lading. She rambled on about talking to their compliance dept & she couldn't take that money off the bill or cancel the financing agreement until she spoke with various people w/in her company. She said it would depend on if my insurance paid at the time of ordering or seating the crown. At that point she didn't know I was recording. When I pulled my phone out of my purse and videotaped her she was very angry & told me that's illegal, it won't hold up in court, blah blah blah. I gave the GA code number for 1 party consent. She then told me to leave, that I was aggressive, and when I turned and warned the patients (calmly, without raising my voice) in the waiting room to watch out for unnecessary services & items being added to their bill, she told the receptionist to call 911. I left & called my ins co. They said Sage put in a claim saying the crown had already been made. It hadn't, they don't have the capability to fabricate crowns in 1 day. A couple days after this incident, I got an email from Sage Dental telling me I'd only have to pay for the core buildup that was done to my tooth if I signed a waiver basically agreeing not to sue them. Yelp doesn't give enough space for me to give the rest of the story, but I'm pretty sure the only reason I got my money back is because I recorded the conversation. If you have no other option but to go to Sage Dental, make sure you don't get pressured into signing a treatment plan or financing agreement. If you have dental insurance, ask your insurance company to email you a copy of the plan benefits - which should include an itemized list of what they cover and the codes for each service - and bring it with you to any appointment. Double check that you're getting what's covered. See if there's a less expensive but comparable alternative. If they tell you that you have periodontal disease, get a second opinion if you can. Or maybe buy some ice skates. Dentistry is yet another victim of end-stage capitalism, and has degenerated into an experience akin to buying a used car from a slimy salesman. The predatory, profit-driven behavior is all about charging you as much as they can to make commissions.

This inconsistency and lack of follow-through have left us disappointed and seeking dental care elsewhere. We've made several attempts to resolve this. I have even sent the voicemail back to the office so that they could listen to it. How can the office manager personally call us and say they're taking care of a certain item on our account, and then just refuse to honor her own words. A Dentist you can Trust -- He saved me $375 in unnecessary fillings! (Also, an especially fabulous…read morechoice for cash-paying patients!) When I first moved to Georgia and really didn't have any recommendations for a dentist, I'll admit, I initially let my pocketbook make the decision. Since I don't have dental insurance, I called a ton of dentists in the area and asked what an exam, cleaning, and x-rays would be for a cash paying patient. Much to my chagrin, most of the dentists in the area charged cash-payers exactly the same rate as they "charge" to insurance. For anyone who knows anything about the insurance biz, you know that this "charge" is negotiated way down by the insurance company and thus is far more than the dentist ends up being paid by insurance. When I called Carson and Moynahan, I was pleasantly surprised that their cash-paying rate was totally reasonable -- it was literally *half* of the cost one dentist's office gave me. Sold. I went and was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the office (clean and well-maintained). I was even more pleasantly surprised by the experience (17 years in the biz, I think?) and the quality of the hygienist, Jane. She was very passionate about oral health, and her enthusiasm got me flossing daily again! (Well, for several weeks, anyway... you know how that goes... :) Jane and her assistant were more thorough in doing and recording my gum exam (you know the thing where your gums get graded from 1 to 5?) than with any other dentist's office I've ever been to before. (I've lived in 6 states, so I've been to many dentists in my life.) Dr. Moynahan was great as well -- he did a thorough exam and was excellent and took his time in addressing all my concerns, which is a big deal to me. (I tend to ask doctors a lot of questions because I'm kind of a medical nerd.) I was charged exactly what I was told I would be charged when I asked over the phone -- no surprise extras. It was a great cleaning, but I really didn't think much of it afterwards because I've been blessed (knock wood) with teeth that haven't given me problems as of yet (asides from cavities that I only had in childhood). . . That is until today when Dr. Moynahan *really* impressed me. You see, in the time that lapsed since my visit with him, I was lured over to a dentist literally 2 minutes from me by a $59 "New Patient" deal for x-rays, cleaning, and exam. This dentist told me that I had *2* cavities and I was shocked -- it's been probably 20 years since I last had a cavity. My intuition told me that there was just something not right about the situation, so I decided that I would pay an exam fee to go see Dr. Moynahan for a second opinion. (The estimate I was given for two fillings PLUS the extra exam fee still ended up being less than having my fillings done at the other dentist, so having the second opinion done was an easy decision!) So I was honest upfront with Dr. Moynahan about seeing another dentist, but I didn't tell him who it was or what he said besides the fact that he found "something" and that "I want to see what you find". He said, "Okay, I'll be extra picky", and then reviewed my chart, reviewed my x-rays from the year prior, and did an oral exam. He mentioned some exposed root areas I already knew about (but didn't recommend treatment if it wasn't bothering me) but did not mention the words "cavity", "pre-cavity", "sticky spot" or anything that would even suggest even the beginning of decay. I then told him that the other dentist found two cavities and where he said they were. Then Dr. Moynahan looked again. He said he saw some discolored spots, but nothing that the probe stuck to and definitely nothing, in his opinion, that needed a filling. In carefully wording his statement to avoid calling the other dentist a liar he said [totally paraphrased from my bad memory], "Hey, doing fillings puts food on the table, but there's no way I'd recommend filling those spots. I don't see them getting any worse, and while fillings are great when needed, I'd much prefer to let mother nature do the work -- she does a better job at it. You'd lose more enamel [from the prep work for the fillings] that would make filling something like that not worth it. I recommend just keeping an eye on it." (Again, totally paraphrased from my non-dentist memory.) So there you have it. How one bad experience with one dentist led me to see what a gem of a dentist I already had.
