Everyone is helpful and always answers your questions. What I like is that they are very punctual about their times. So, take it with a grain of salt and a slight of comfort when I say this. These people certainly know what they're doing. And they are, like....twenty times more efficient and professional than the bottom-of-the-barrel dentists they seem to employ on Fort Bliss. Not much of a bar to hurdle over, I know. But it's still worth mentioning for those who may have their fears and doubts as I did. Like another certain Elite bloke who reviewed this place eons before me, I, too, am a complete chickenshit when it comes to going to the dentist. Thing is, I couldn't put this off any longer because that would only lead to more expensive and painful procedures down the road. No, I was not in any pain. I was just here for a routine exam, since it had been a year and a half since I last saw a dentist. Now, I caution you to check with their front desk to confirm they will accept whatever insurance company you go through. I mainly found these guys through mine, after metaphorically searching the four corners of El Paso to make sure I wasn't gonna have to sell my left kidney in exchange for filling two molars and a periodontal cleaning. Let's talk about the office. This place is immaculate and features the latest dental technology. In fact, if you compare Fort Bliss's dental clinics with this one, you'll think you've gone backwards in time with the former. I think VDA (yes, that's what I'm calling them) has about...10 or 20 years edge over Bliss any day. Okay, okay....I promise that's the last roast I'll cast against military dentists. Maybe. Probably. Moving on.. The staff are amazingly professional and, more importantly, non-condescending. For once, I didn't feel judged when all the usual issues came up (I.E. floss more/better, get a better toothbrush, blah blah blah). They actually had a lot of good tips to offer that I didn't know about, even with my own independent research. Because of their recommendation, I just purchased an electric toothbrush for $128. Yeah, yeah...you probably think I'm booji. But...I'm old and my choppers now require special needs. In other words, I'm not taking any more chances! You'll hear a lot of people talk about Dr. Ramirez. Lemme tell ya...this dentist is a chill dude. Like, surprisingly chill! He seemed impressed that I already took initiative in some areas of concern regarding dental hygiene. For instance, he seemed surprised I arrived there for a genuine exam and not because I was experiencing some mouth pain like I suspect most people do. Very rarely does a dentist actually praise their patients for giving an effort. Usually, they just berate them for not flossing enough or using the wrong toothbrush or lecturing them on how they don't brush properly. As for the procedures themselves, they're about as gentle as they realistically can be, given the circumstances. I won't say that I didn't still experience some slight discomfort. But bare in mind, I'm a total wuss when it comes to this sort of stuff. So, again....take it with a grain of salt. Your mileage may vary. So, would I recommend them? Hell yeah I would! And this is coming from a 20 year veteran who previously only ever got dental work from military doctors. That's all I'll say about that. VDA is easily worthy of 5 sparkling bright white smiles from their nervous as hell patients out of 5.

I visited Devine Dental and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience from the moment I…read morewalked in. First, the front receptionist was very rude and unprofessional. I was seen by a female dentist who initially discussed the possibility of doing a retreatment on my tooth. However, as soon as I questioned the possibility oh my tooth being broken, the conversation quickly shifted toward removing the tooth. I requested a second opinion from the owner. While waiting, my spouse overheard the receptionist speaking out loud about me to a dental assistant, saying, "Oh well, the doctor doesn't do retreats, he likes to pull. He's going to pull!" followed by, "Don't worry, I'll talk to her." Hearing that staff discussed me this way was incredibly unprofessional and made an already stressful situation even worse. Throughout the visit, I felt pressured to proceed with an extraction. The following day, I spoke directly with the owner and explained that I did NOT want to lose my tooth. I wanted to explore every reasonable option to save it and requested to see a specialist/endodontist. Instead of being referred to a specialist, I was again encouraged to proceed with an extraction, which I was told would cost around $3,000. The owner got defensive when I told him the female dentist had said the reason the last root canal they did failed was because they didn't seal it correctly, in which he replied "i don't know who told you that, I see it right here and it sealed" and then, "ALL ROOT CANALS FAIL," and that seeing a specialist would be more expensive. What concerns me most is that I never felt like saving my tooth was genuinely being explored as an option. I questioned whether all appropriate steps had been taken to determine if my tooth could actually be saved. I am SO grateful that I trusted my instincts and went to an endodontist for another opinion. My specialist determined that my tooth was healthy enough for retreatment and that I did NOT need an extraction. I was able to save my tooth for less than then the cost of the extraction only. Based on my personal experience, I strongly encourage anyone being told they need an extraction--especially when the tooth may potentially be saved--to seek an independent opinion from an endodontist before making an irreversible decision. God bless my endodontist and shame on Devine Dental! I'm convinced they push for extractions so they can stay number 1 for dental implants.

Staff who is sending out text should work on their customer service skills. She expected me to leave school to be able to pay full amount before my appointment then changed it to $50 deposit but the last time I payed for a crown they charged me the day of! Save your money for a dental office with manners I would've paid it by the end of today if they would've just extended the deadline today but she just wanted to reschedule me even after I've been getting messages of available appointments. I have two different opinions from dentist and endodontist. Plus, the crown he did on #30, he left the cavity in, so I had to have that done. I have had to pay out of pocket since my insurance only pays for crowns every 5 years. I even had to pay out of pocket because the office clerk said they were in network and were not. They are really incompetent, greedy and dishonest in my opinion.

He did not tell me who he was...I had to ask. He looked in my mouth and literally could NOT SEE that I have a bracket on one molar. When I told him about it, He then encouraged me to continue my orthodontia with him. I declined. WTF??? He also did not see the decalcification that was ON MY FRINT TOOTH. Is this dude blind??? That shows you the extent of him actually looking in my mouth. The hygienist then came in and said I need a special cleaning that costs way more than the usual. Last time I checked a cleaning was a cleaning. The dentist told me that I have THREE filings that need to be replaced. (I'm going to a new dentist that I have to wait 2 months to get in with. My suspicion is that my fillings are not cracked but they use this as a way to make money. I'll update this review when I have my 2nd opinion.). Then they handed me a $4000 bill (about $1200 with insurance) and said, "can we get started? We have payment plans!" . I will not be going back. These ppl at this office are SO BAD. Do not under any circumstances go here. I felt like they found their cash cow or something. Seriously... if you want to handle dental services like this, you ought get better reviews. THEN, after I found a new dentist, I called them to get my X-rays and they literally charge $50 to have them EMAILED. If your teeth are absolutely falling out of your mouth....go see a different dentist. I called my insurance to see if this is legal, it is...but highly unethical. But I imagine that $50 is the only way they are making money these days. In retrospect, they were able to get me in to a SATURDAY APPT in TWO DAYS. And the place was COMPLETELY EMPTY when I got there. The new dentist I found can't see me for 2 months because he's so busy. I have now seen it all. Oh and do NOT SIGN the video consent form. They literally wanted me to sign away the rights to my own image in pictures and videos. WHY WOUKD A DENTIST WANT YOU TO SIGN AWAY YOUR LIKENESS ONLINE. They could post ANYTHING about you and you would have zero recourse. The fact they have that consent firm shows that they are likely using others likenesses online.

The construction of the crowns was like made in China (very poor). On my three visits I did not see other patients at the dental clinic. She charged the VA about $1000 dollars for each crown. Her English is poor. I do not recommend this poor dentist for any veteran.
