I went in with a sore throat, sinus drainage and runny nose, for me these are usually signs of an allergic reaction to pollen or animals and usually result in eventually developing a sinus infection and bronchitis in left untreated and I have to miss work, but if I get a zpak or something it typically doesnt go that far. They did test me for strep, negative, but refused to prescribe anything because they were not sure what it was and said that if it were a virus an antibiotic would be like taking a sugar pill and that it was probably a virus and my body just needed time to fight it, not taking into account the many times i have been through this before and that Im 3 days in with no fever or nausea (doesnt sound like a virus) but even if it were they said they couldn't tell and instead of prescribing an antibiotic (the 'sugar pill') just in case, so I dont potentially develop an infection and miss work, they just sent me home telling me to buy some sudifedrine and musinex and see what happens in 3-4 days. My wife called the VA nurse and she prescribed an antibiotic for me. On a previous visit to the same Urgent Care in Ada my wife had all the signs of a UTI and was miserable, they tested her and later that day called and said her results were negative for a UTI and that they could not prescribe anything for her symptoms. Later that day we were in Dallas and went to a clinic, my wife tested positive for a UTI and was able to get medicine and start taking it. 3 days later the same Urgent Care in Ada called her to let her know that they had received further test results showing that she was positive for a UTI...

Having a medical emergency outside of your home state can be a nerve-wrecking ordeal. We came to…read moreOklahoma from North Carolina to visit family in Roff. Our 5 yo daughter hurt her hand so we went to the closest ER. We were greeted immediately, a nurse came out and triaged her right away, and we were roomed. The staff were all so wonderful, even bringing stickers to help soothe a tired and scared little girl. The doctor saw us right away, did a great job examining and interacting with her in the midst of her pain and then thoroughly explained what the course of treatment should be. Upon leaving, all of the staff thanked us and said goodbye. They were incredibly professional, polite and caring. As healthcare professionals, my husband and I were very highly impressed by this visit and the staff! Many thanks to our nurse, Missy, and Dr. Fisher for treating our little girl so well!

UPDATE: I am raising my review to 3 stars because I have been to this ER twice since this review…read morefor one almost cutting the end of my finger off and two almost breaking my toe.....I know, I received the heavy weight belt for klutz this year for sure. The reason my review has been raised is because both times I was in this ER it was a 100% better than it has EVER been in the almost 30 years that I have lived here. Not sure if they're making changes or if both times I caught them at a good time but I'd really like to believe the first. Both times I didn't have to wait hours upon hours. I got in right away. Both Dr's that saw me were knowledgeable and efficient. Their bedside manner was great and they were so great at explaining what they were doing and why. I was in and out and my nerves were eased right away. I only raised it to 3 stars because of the later incidences happening but I sure hope this trend keeps up at our ER because when people go to the ER they are scared or nervous enough without having to add all this other to the list. Absolutely horrible ER! The worst I have ever seen! My son tonight came in from work and took a hot shower. He has had a huge knot on his shoulder blade for 3 days. Tonight when he tried standing up he felt something like paper ripping in his back and he could barely stand after that. We sat in the ER for almost 3 hours before we decided to just get up and leave! During this time 2 other people also got up and left. During this time we saw 2 nurses actually leave to either go home or go on break! Every time the doors opened the nurses were either sitting down or standing around!!!! Really ? You got people in severe pain and sick and you have nothing better to do? This isn't the first time with this hospital doing this. About 9 months ago my son had a huge stomach virus and fever and had filled up 3 of those bags and he got there on a Saturday morning at 8am and didn't get back till 4pm!!! This is uncalled for! There's was a old lady who had even been waiting longer!!!! This ER needs to be shut down!!! Incompetent staff and just completely uncalled for! Admin will be getting a call! On another note when I walked in there was pornagraphic stuff (explicit) sex on the tv and the dad of the little was trying to hide her eyes! The mom was finally able to get the to tv changed. Also, the heater was on the bottom
