The receipt will only have boarding charges and any related charges (for food). For anyone wondering, the charge for someone to board a cat is $3 per meal time, $6 a day. Also, they may or may not make you sign a receipt to close the transaction. The visit for this review, they did not make me sign a receipt. I was just given an itemized receipt.

I went in to unfortunately euthanize my cat who was diagnosed with heart failure 2 weeks prior and was not responding to medicine and declining steadily with worsening respiratory status. He was calm and seemed ok for the most part until he realized where he was and began to get stressed out and whenever he was stressed his breathing got worse. The tech came in and explained the process and breakdown of payment with us, meanwhile my cat was getting more and more restless, going from spot to spot in the room trying to make himself comfortable. We asked the tech to please hurry to get the doctor and to get him the meds to help him settle down. The tech left and a few minutes passed before she came back with the vet. There was no sense of urgency to help my cat, and the vet, (who was not our usual vet) still did not have the meds ready, was just there to reiterate what the tech had already walked us through and walked back out. In that time my cat who was trying to hide behind the furniture started to sound like he was choking. I picked him up and laid him on the table. He was agonal breathing, eyes were open and fixed and gums were turning white. He looked terrified and all I could do was hold on to him and beg for it to stop while my mom stepped out and told them the Dr needed to come help now. Still no one came for an agonizing moment of time. Once the vet did get there she just looked at him. I knew my cat was already gone. She finally gave him the sedative and he stopped the choking noise. She told us "he's going fast so you might want to go ahead and say your goodbyes," though it was too late for tender goodbyes. My cat did not get a peaceful home-going. He was stressed and terrified. He didn't drift away, he went crashing. I didn't get to hold him tenderly as he went to sleep, I got to frantically hold onto him as he gasped for his final breaths. I sincerely hope that image haunts them the way it will haunt me forever, and no other family has to endure what we did.

Over that time, we worked with multiple veterinarians here and spent thousands of dollars, so we genuinely believed there was a level of mutual trust and respect. In the past, the clinic had shown some flexibility when large bills came up, which we appreciated as loyal, long-term customers. However, our most recent visit completely changed our perception. We were quoted $254 for routine blood and urine testing, which is already on the higher side. When we asked for just a couple of days to settle the payment--something that had been accommodated before--we were unexpectedly refused. Instead, we were pressured at the front desk to apply for a credit line on the spot, and we were not allowed to leave until we addressed the payment situation. The experience felt incredibly uncomfortable, forced, and frankly disrespectful. After years of loyalty and significant financial commitment, being treated this way was shocking. It felt like the clinic no longer values its long-term clients and has shifted toward a rigid, impersonal, and customer-unfriendly approach. Between the high pricing and the way this situation was handled, we've decided to take our business elsewhere. This was, without question, one of the worst experiences we've had at any veterinary clinic. We will not be returning.

I have had several animals vetted there prior to change in ownership and they were wonderful. Even helped me with my semi feral cat who gets bad allergy breakouts. They vetted him by picture and it worked. Otherwise, I have to trap the poor kitty with a coon trap. New vet won't prescribe the medication (saying it's illegal / a steroid) unless he is seen. Won't to do it with pictures even though we've been treating him for years this way (he's indoor for 9 years but still won't be picked up). So the cat gets to suffer OR be mentally anguished by being trapped. I guess the original vet wasn't worried about jail time. He was worried for the animal. Will be taking ALL my animals elsewhere going forward.

Please see edited portion below…read more Here was my initial rating: "( 2 stars) : All staff were professional, thorough, polite, friendly, etc. My complaint is they did not listen to me. I made it clear that I just wanted one service. But I had to pay approximately $171 for services I did not want, what I wanted should have only cost me $66.64+tax (per their invoice). I understand why they conducted the services they did, but...they did not listen to me. I may even use them again, but I will be prepared to ether insist on what I want (not what they want) or just be prepared to pay for services I do not want or go somewhere else." Not every business has the moral character to contact a client concerning a review and discuss. Dr. Sheets did just that. I'm grateful for that. I did assume that the services I did not want were being conducted by the offices policies, rules, etc. I now understand that the services they conducted were regulated and required by the Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners. I now give them 5 Stars and would recommend them!

The whole staff is very kind, they are easy to get ahold of, they have answered any random questions I've had and have an excellent reminder system for shots that are needed. I even like their vet records more haha. The price is very fair for the experience. The shots themselves are priced similarly to other veterinary clinics. Having been here several times now, I've never seen another animal booked as the same time as me. Which has created a very positive experience and my dog has never been stressed visiting here (like they were at another clinic).
