The workers were nothing short of amazing and I'd highly recommend them but we got a $1400 upcharge for removing a second layer of shingles from the roof. I don't have a whole lot of heartburn there other than that should have been in the original estimate as it's not particularly difficult to determine whether a roof has two layers of shingles installed. The part where I *do* have heartburn is the almost $1000 upcharge for one sheet of plywood and twelve 1"x6" decking boards they replaced. Our quote says there would be an $86 charge for each sheet of plywood (they used one) and where we live 1"x6" decking costs about a dollar a board-foot. When we complained about the bill Caps did give us a $350-ish discount on the entire job but a roofing job that was quoted at $6.1k cost us a tad more than $8.1k. As mentioned the roofers themselves were nothing short of amazing,

The shingles were not what we wanted, as we had communicated to Shelley (owner) that we wanted essentially to replace what was there from an aesthetic standpoint. We were not at the property when the work was finally done, and when we came back we were very disappointed, both with the look of the new roof and the debris that was left behind (including many nails, one of which ended up in one of my tires, resulting in a $40 repair). I have never encountered an owner of a business that was less interested in customer satisfaction.
