The Pick Up Chix

It was a big job considering the enormous amount of stuff she had, most of which would not fit in her new surroundings. We can all relate to how stressful moving and clearing can be: the process, the choices, the cost, the waste and environmental impact. It is emotionally and financially draining. Mychael and her team entered the picture ("The Chix") with an invaluable measure of competence and compassion. First, the response time was fast. I suppose Mychael is accustomed to families that are in or nearing crisis when they realize they need help! Second, the process was laid out clearly and within a short while we understood how the articles we could not move would be handled, donated, credited etc. Third, the team stuck to their schedule, worked with our building manager on permitting and reserving the elevator, consulted with us when they came across documents or personal items of legal or sentimental value. They made the entire experience seamless. I cannot offer high enough praise for the Pick Up Chix concept, ethic and execution. When I showed my siblings the video of a clean swept apartment -- after we agonized for weeks over how we would deal with my mom's stuff -- it brought tears of joy and relief to our eyes. I wish the Pick Up Chix would franchise. Thank you Mychael and team.

And the stuff, the stuff ‍ Mychael and her company took the biggest Stress part of the move and made it so we did not have to worry about a thing. And when I say we didn't worry, the end result was as if Mom never lived there. If you are selling and do not know what to do with all the furniture, stuff , and junk.. give them a call. There is a charge but what they think they can sell and what they can sell the item for, comes off the top Great company and great experience

I think this is the first review I've written in 10 years. First of all, I want to thank Tori for…read moreher professionalism, prompt responses, and for always answering our questions while helping our family through a difficult time. When my father-in-law passed away, we needed to sell the contents of the house, clean it out, and prepare it for sale. Tori guided us through the entire process and gave us great advice, but most importantly, she showed incredible patience and genuine humanity while dealing with different members of our family. We truly appreciated her support during such a difficult time, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, compassionate, and professional. Michelle Gilbert

FL, and have no local contacts, we found Tori thru the internet having searched for an honest individual w/ a good reputation who would do both the estate sale and cleanout. Tori was the person we hired after a meeting via Zoom. We also met her IRL when we went to FL prior to the actual sale. Tori was equipped to not only do the sale, she also would dispose of the post-sale remaining items via consignment, donation, auction and landfill as appropriate. Tori's marketing, actual 2-day sale and final dispostioning were done without any issues at all. Following the estate sale we received a lengthy receipt which accounted for everything. And, copies of receipts for donations are on the way to us too. Items on consignment will be sold over a period of time. Tori's fee is in line with other companies doing this work. I can't say enough about the professionalism and ease of communication with Tori who owns Cubed Consign & Cleanout. She and her team did a wonderful job. And - for those of us who live far away and maybe have strong emotional attachments to things to be sold - I don't think you can find a better way to handle this process. Thank you Tori and the C3 team.

Hopefully you don't need their services, but everyone will eventually have to deal with their…read moreparents passing away. Setting the grief aside for a moment, you most likely will have to deal with a house full of stuff. If you are like me and don't live in South Florida, this is a major problem. Going through all of the stuff can take over your life. I wasn't sure where to turn, but I found Bonnie and Melissa from B & F Estate Sales online. After reading some of the reviews on their website, I decided to have them come in and help out. It was a great decision. I liked that they have been in business a long time and aren't just some fly by night company. Bonnie has been doing estate sales for over 30 years. If they aren't run right, from what I've read an estate sale can be a nightmare. I decided to fly into South Florida to "supervise" the sale. Unless there were any major problems, my plan was to totally stay out of their way. I would think that some companies wouldn't want the owner there while the sale was going on, but Bonnie and Melissa made me feel welcome to be involved in the process and I found their business interesting. Prior to me coming into town, Bonnie and Melissa had gone through the house and started tagging items for sale. Bonnie is also a realtor, so I was very comfortable with her letting herself in and out during the week. I made a previous weekend trip to take some special things that I wanted to keep. I strongly recommend doing that first, so you know what is in the house. Plus it makes their job a lot easier if you can tell them - EVERYTHING there is for sale. That said, they did set aside some personal items, that they thought I would want, that I hadn't shipped yet. They aren't going to just sell something without checking with you first. To "enhance" the sale, they brought in a few of their other client's merchandise. My mother wasn't a big collector of jewelry or figurines. Those things bring in customers, so it was a good idea. Each person's stuff was color coded with a sticker, so none of the money got confused. I quickly learned that people will buy anything. Cans of unused food - Sold. An electric mixer from 1957 - sold. Corn Cob holders - sold. Clothes, shoes, old board games, packs of playing cards, eye glasses, bulky costume jewelry, Dixieland Jazz records, coffee tables, piano sheet music, old telephones, towels, old garden tools, unused batteries, paintings off the wall, an old sewing machine and, and, and... Now did I get rich selling all these things? No. Although it was cash in my pocket. For me it was about emptying out a house full of stuff, without it taking months and breaking my back doing it. My mother hated waste, so it also gave me some pleasure knowing that someone else was going to actually use these things. After the two day sale Bonnie and Melissa brought another company in that was responsible for the rest of the clean out of unsold things. Basically they see what's left for them to sell or donate to charity, then weigh that against the amount of labor it will take to move everything and clean the house. They write you a check for x amount and do the rest of the hard work. At the end you have a completely empty and clean house, ready for someone else to move into. After watching Bonnie and Melissa work during the weekend, I can highly recommend them. I would trust them again to do it without me being there for sure. I'm guessing most of their clients aren't there. I could tell they have lots of loyal customers who are familiar with their sales. During the sale there was only one person who was a problem. They came through the house and wanted to haggle over every little dime and started to raise their voice about it . Bonnie and Melissa put their foot down politely but firmly and asked them to purchase the items at the fair price or leave. After all this is someone's home, it's not some 3rd world country flea market. These things were important to someone who has passed away, so Bonnie and Melissa insisted that everyone be respectful. They were also constantly keeping things neat and reorganizing the items during the sale. I met lots of nice people during the sale that seemed to really enjoy talking about some of the items in my mom's home. To get this kind of clientele, Bonnie and Melissa spend time taking photos of your items and post it on their website as well as other estate sale websites. In their line of business it's all about having contacts and promoting the sale correctly. That's the difference between doing your own garage sale and having a professional company come in. B & F Estate Sales was a great choice for me. I'm sure they will be for you too.
