Long…read morebefore Covid, i had Home Care agencies in my dads home,had a tough time keeping good, reliable aides. A few were caught stealing. One was sleeping and eating in a back room. When covid started, I moved my father out of an assisted living facility. His health had declined but he insisted on his own place. Assisted living was a happy medium. Had issues with them as well. Messing up dads medicine. "Forgetting " to come get him for meals. Dad has some dementia, so he needed help remembering things. Him landing in ER was final straw. I moved him into my home to care for him. Covid hit and outside care was difficult to find. Fast forward 3.5 yrs later. I've been thru 3 different HH agencies in this time. Bottom line, HH agencies in general and those that work for them, are just awful!! Phoenix in Columbia Missouri, ranks up there with the worst of them. Aides are not trained if they are new. Their vetting of potential staff =aides is a joke. Communication from management- all the way up to their corporate office, is a bigger joke. They are despicable!! This is a larger company with multiple locations. I'm not sure how they stay in business!! They billed for days no one was at our house. I have gone weeks when their staff either quit. Just Not show up. Most companies would call their clients to let them know no aide was coming. Not Phoenix. Multiple times I had to call them to ask where aide was. Lots of sorrys. Kept giving them benefit of doubt. They had one aide I loved, but she quit because the company was not paying her properly. They were sending her to clients homes who were in hospital or not home. I could go on and on how terrible of a company Phoenix is but everyone I talked to had the same experience. I went thru lots of aides because they quit left and right. Don't leave your loved ones in their hands. They say they are a good Christian valued company. NOT!!

Used this company for my 88 yr father. I went away for 3 days out of town. Came home to my father…read morein the same clothes he was wearing for the last 48 hours. Not only did they not change his clothes, but he was in the same dirty disposable underwear for 48 hrs. No socks on his feet, but they left his shoes on him during the middle of the night! I have cameras in house and it's all recorded. Company fired one tech, but not the other one. Both were at fault. The tech they didn't fire left my dad in thigh high plastic sequential leg pumps. They were only supposed to be on for 60 mins. Per video, they were left on for 2.5 HOURS! My father couldn't get up if he wanted to since he can't get leg pumps off himself. They also left him in his room- except for meals when normally he sits in living room most of the day. They also didn't check on him for hours at a time! Again, all on video and shown to supervisor. This was in the Columbia Missouri franchise. Funny though that when I posted something about this on the BrightStar FB page, people told me to reach out to the main headquarters. I did, and NO ONE EVER GOT BACK TO ME! Shows you how little they care what goes on in their franchise business. I was told by the VA, who contracts out to them,to hotline with the state. I did that and the agency dropped my father as a client. They even billed the VA for that weekend services!

When she was getting ready to be discharged they called her doctor and they canceled her services with them. They had not contacted my parents to talk to them about how they were not going to be able to take care of her anymore because they didn't feel that they were capable of doing so. When my doctor tried to talk to them about continuing to take care of her they would not listen they would not even consider the fact that they were the ones taking care of her and now they no longer are. They left her high and dry they were rude, they were incapable of conversation they are pathetic and I would not recommend anybody to them or anybody's loved ones to them for they do not need to be in business. It is their job to provide home health needs to those in need and my mom is one of them.
