Great amenities: kitchen, makeup area and lounge - all clean and well maintained. Parking was plentiful. Further, location was ideal: the studio is in a low traffic, commerce area of Burbank, close to restaurants and downtown. An excellent studio: I recommend.

The majority of my experience with Argentum has been on their "hot sets" this is a service they offer to help actors get footage for their reels. Argentum sets up a set, and then shoots the actors in the scene. They use professional quality cameras, sound equipment, editing, color grading, etc... They also film on multiple cameras so that once edited the clip looks professional, and most importantly looks like something that could actually be seen on film, or television. Argentum also uses professional actors as your scene partners, and the actors will also work with you to make sure that you're getting the best performance possible! They're also happy to let you bring your own scene partner. The guys that run the "hot sets" are great as well. They're extremely helpful, and really work hard to make sure that every scene turns well. They're also just cool guys. I know that might sound silly, but when you're spending time with people it helps that they're nice. The price is reasonable for the service being offered, and the quality is high. For anyone looking to add some footage to their reel I would definitely recommend Argentum. I'd recommend them for other actor services as well.

Villain's Tavern is HUGE on Yelp... so if you've been to Villain's and saw the large warehouse in…read morethe adjacent parking lot... then you have feasted your eyes on Willow Studios: a 100,000 sq foot warehouse-converted studio building. Willow Studios' website boasts and features photos of elaborate standing sets (this means sets which are already built-in and don't require set designers or set dressers-- think "pre-made") such as jail cells, kitchens, loft apartments, showers, etc; and also contends to having many props and furniture available for production use. Well... I was here for a very long music video shoot from 7pm-5am with multiple set-ups and since I had one of lead roles, I saw many aspects of the building and let me tell you: it is not like the website demonstrates. It IS very spacious and does have some of these standing sets but they are somewhat shabby and still require a set designer to spruce it up in a major way. The props and furniture are outdated, not matching, and basically just look like a garage or attic with old furniture. The "basement" standing sets which means the actual warehouse, is creepy and looks like the set of the "Saw" movies so it's great if you are seeking such production space. The ceilings however, don't provide proper set-ups for a lighting grid. It is very relaxed though and there isn't any studio personnel or up-tight folks trying to invade your shoot and boss people around. Willow is ultimately an abandoned warehouse building which you can rent out for your production at leisure. Plus, there is a Thai boxing studio on one of the floors, so you can always bust in on the class if you need an extra for a boxing scene.
