I called ahead to see if I could walk in around 6pm on a weekday for symptoms of strep throat/sore throat. I was informed I didn't so I quickly made my way over. The young lady on the phone was pleasant and friendly. However, when I got there, there were two young ladies at the desk who looked at me like I had 10 heads. Neither one welcomed me or said a word to me until I said something first. They both seemed so bothered. Overall the front desk staff was not friendly nor were they clear with their directions. The waiting area was clean and tidy. Seemed like I was the only one there. I didn't wait for long. I filled out the form and waited maybe 5 minutes and the MA, I believe her name was Maddison? Starts with an M. She was super friendly and easy going. She definitely knows the area well. I recently moved to the area and didn't have a pharmacy in mind. She quickly asked where I moved to and immediately suggested a cvs pharmacy I am familiar with 5 minutes from me. Shortly after she took my rapid strep test, the provider was in in less than 10 minutes. Dr. Paul Paganelli-- he was amazing! He listened to all my concerns and was super personal. He prescribed me antibiotics and I was on my way!! He made sure to walk me out and quickly sent the orders to my pharmacy. On my way to pharmacy, I received a text saying my prescription was ready for pick up! Amazing back end staff who truly cares. read more

AVOID, specifically Guy Nubar. I would not recommend this urgent care to anyone. I came in with a finger infection requiring drainage and left with an allergic reaction that has now lasted days, caused by a prescription the doctor should never have written. When I disclosed a medicine allergy, the doctor acknowledged it, asked what happens, and I told him, a rash. He then prescribed a medication that is in the same antibiotic family. He provided zero explanation for this decision and zero warning about what to watch for if I reacted. I only learned about the cross risk from the pharmacist the next day, but said as long as it was addressed by doctoe it should be fine. I subsequently developed a significant allergic reaction with painful oral lesions and lip swelling. Beyond the prescription issue, the doctor spent about 7 minutes with me total, clearly rushing to leave before closing. He told me he was sending my prescription to a specific 24 hr pharmacy... except he sent it to the wrong one, sending me on an unnecessary trip at night while in significant pain. The drainage he performed was also incomplete, requiring a hand specialist visit the following morning to properly treat what turned out to be a confirmed finger felon. The only thing he did correctly was write a referral to a hand specialist. Everything else was negligent, rushed, and caused me direct harm. But hey, at least he made it home in time. To the owner who likes to pop up in the reviews to defend their staff: I've seen your responses, and I'm not interested. Don't bother. No amount of "we take patient concerns seriously" copy paste is going to unswell my lips or give me back the days I've spent unable to speak, eat or drink without feeling immense pain. Save the PR response for someone who might believe it. read more

I'm so disappointed at our little help we got here. Yes, we got in quick and the nurse and doctor were friendly but that's as good as it got. Patient came in for flu/cold symptoms. The staff tested him for strep and covid. Doctor came back in the room and told us he had covid and then just let us go. No information on how to recover or what to do in general, no Paxlovid(med for covid that helps alleviate symptoms), not even a piece of advice. Doctor just casually said "wait it out" and that's it. Didn't even offer us masks or tell us to wash our hands while we were in the room now knowing the patient was positive. Beyond a diagnosis, zero help, advice, education was given. This is the first time the patient ever got covid so we could have used at least some sort of guidance. read more

AFC Urgent Care center is wonderful! The staff was friendly, quick, and professional. I had the best experience there this week. Over this past weekend, I went to the BMC ER because, I was sick and with the flu epidemic right now, I didn't want to take any chances. I sat in the BMC ER 5.5 hours, only for them to tell me, they didn't recommend that I take the flu test, and they said, if I did have the flu there's nothing that they can do to treat me, and that since I'm ordinary a healthy person, I should continue taking OTC medications and fluids. So they gave me a ibuprofen and a tessalon pearl for the pain in my throat. On Tuesday, I wasn't feeling any better. I actually had a medical scare, and I decided I needed to find a urgent care. I couldn't afford to go back to the BMC ER. I'm so glad and happy that I found AFC Urgent Care. I was their first patient of the day, and they got me in and out in less than 30 minutes. I was very pleased with the P.A. that met with me, she was quick, thorough, and she explained everything to me. Also, "Kim" one of the nurses that took my vitals was very friendly. I highly recommend this urgent care center. If you're looking for a great, quick, thorough staff to be treated by this is the place! Thank you, to the staff of AFC Urgent Care! You all are the best! read more

Just had such a pleasant experience here! Came in around 3:30pm on a Sunday afternoon. Granted there were only 2 patients in front of me, but even with filling out the forms I waited maybe 12 minutes in the waiting room and less than 5 minutes between taking vitals and being seen by the medical provider. The front staff were friendly and answered all my questions, and the facilities were all clean and well organized. The waiting room provided free refreshments as well, such as small water bottles, for your wait. After my visit I even opted in for a quick flu shot (and quick it was) as it was covered under my insurance. My e-prescription was sent to my regular pharmacy, and I was provided with a post-visit care sheet with some follow-up information. Would not hesitate in walking in again for my medical needs, as this was very convenient given making an appointment with my regular PCP would have meant waiting nearly a week. read more

Thank you to the staff and providers for being so kind, patient, and professional during my stay! My 1 star rating is based off of a phone call I had with a miserable, unhelpful human being who answered the phone at this establishment at approximately 7:25pm this evening. As you can see, based on my rating, it was horrible before I even had the chance to go in. I have been sick for about 5 days now with the flu which I thought had cleared up. This evening, however, was the first time that white dots appeared on my tonsil and throat. I called this place immediately after finding the dots to see if they will give me a throat culture and antibiotics before I even bothered going in. I didn't want to pay them $25 to have them take a culture and then have to wait several days before being treated. If I wanted to do that, I would go to my regular doctor instead of some rando that I don't know. I explained to the insanely rude and disinterested woman who answered the phone that I'm a teacher, and I don't want to go to work with what one would assume at this point in time, is strep, and usually pretty contagious. And so I asked about the meds after getting the culture. She said "if your rapid test comes back negative we can't do anything for you." Ok... well what about if you SEE WHITE DOTS ON MY TONSIL? Can you use your brain and react accordingly? The woman had ZERO empathy, was clearly angry she had to be there and on top of it told me "If you can't make it by 7:50 don't bother coming bc we lock the doors and walk out of here at 8. So we won't even see you if you get here after 7:50." Ok... what a GREAT way to speak to a potential customer/patient who is sick and clearly trying to get some help so she can go do her job the next day. What the heck kind of customer service is that? And even worse- what kind of medical professional behaves in that manner? So much for empathy and understanding and so much for URGENT CARE. I won't be coming her ever. It was a complete waste of my time to even call them, although I am happy I called and didn't just go in and be spoken to in this manner in person. Don't recommend. People deserve better treatment than that, especially when they are sick or something is wrong and they are calling an urgent care facially. My advice to this place as a normal, caring human being: Get your act together or fire the jerk that answered the phone tonight. UPDATE: Somebody from this establishment responded to my review, and again- showed poor customer service. She didn't even apologize and she basically told me I'm wrong, and that I was not treated as described... along with a great grammatical error to make it funny. Are you kidding me? I'd respond but there's no place on here to do it. Including screen shot picture in case people can't see it. read more

AFC Urgent Care Braintree - Medical Centers Near Me - Braintree, Massachusetts

Went in with an exposure and symptoms. Explained exposure and all symptoms. Requested a PCR Covid test and was told that they do not do that anymore because of insurance issues. Told the CNA and the PA that I wanted the PCR to be sure as I am caring for my elderly mother that has lung cancer. Again the declined. Was told that they would give me antigen and strep rapid tests. The CNA barely went in my nose and I told her that. She told me that she did 3 that day the same way with positive Covid results. All tests came back negative with all of my symptoms. I stopped at CVS and picked up a Covid test and when I arrived home I tested myself and I'm positive. WTH I explained my mother's condition and the importance of me knowing. I was told it was simply a "viral" thing going around. No! It's Covid. Which kills elderly and people with compromised immune systems. This is the second time I was not taken seriously at this place by the same PA. read more

My son went to AFC for a Covid test back in September 2021. He paid $159 out of pocket. I was told by Blue Cross that AFC was reimbursed for the bill they sent in October 2021. Since then I have been trying to get my son reimbursed. I was told to contact Positive billing and for months I understood they handled this. I was finally told to contact AFC directly. I did and they needed proof that Blue Cross had paid them. Sent that email to Lisa who said she would be in touch. About a week later I called and was told there was no Lisa working there and that the check was sent out. A week later (Braintree is the next town from us) still no check. Needless to say, I am frustrated and hope to have this resolved soon. read more

I think this place is great for what it is. It's not a full-service ER (duh) but they can perform certain test (like EKG, X ray) and send samples to the lab. If you don't want to wait 3-4 days while sick to see a doctor, this is a the place to go for a prescription. I waited about 30 min on a Saturday afternoon as a walk-in. Not too shabby. The doctor was very polite and informative both times. read more

Judi Stanton I usually am a patient there every year from November to December. I have asthma and every winter I end up with acute sinutitus. Well this year I made it all the way to February. They have a few new doctors and physician's aids there now. They are all so accommodating in the Braintree office. The wait time is very minimal. I would recommend their services to anyone. The girls at the front desk are very pleasant. If a prescription is needed, by the time you leave the examination room and go out front the girls have already called your druggist and ordered your prescription. When you leave there, all your questions have been answered and you have received the best care possible. Kudos to everyone at the Braintree Urgent Care Facility. read more

I went for an urgent care visit today. I was extremely disappointed by the poor care service that the physician provided. I am a doctor and the least you could do for your patient is to examine my symptoms I complained about. The doctor spent not even 5 mins with me. He did not show compassion nor interest in gathering more data to diagnose me properly. I think this place needs to train his entire staff, beginning with the front desk who provided me the wrong information leading me to paid $169 for this 10 mins visit. We as doctors have an obligation to our patients to provide the best care we can as we are mandated by the Board of Health. read more

I After my review I had a response from the owner saying that Kaiser had done a review of costs for COVID testing. Left my son and I in the parking lot for an hour for a walk in appointment. Was told they were looking for Telehealth appointments so we could be seen via phone as my son had a cold. Poor kid fell asleep because it was taking so long and they didn't even check in with us to let us know why we were waiting. I was told many times to go back to the car and someone would call me. Found out that if you pay out of pocket they will Covid test you on the spot, but if you use your HMO (insurance) they make you wait due to "a shortage of test kits/tests". Be warned. read more

AFC Urgent Care Braintree - Over an hour in the car with my sick child. - Medical Centers Near Me - Braintree, Massachusetts

Typically the reviews I see on Yelp are very helpful, but our experience here cannot be deemed as anything less than terrible. Although the people were nice, the facilities were clean, and the wait time was short, the doc at AFC told us to go to the ER (just to be safe). However, after waiting 3 hours in the emergency room, two different doctors told us that this could have easily been treated at an urgent care center. Both places got the same amount of information, and yet the doctor at AFC apparently drew a wrong, and easily avoidable conclusion. At the end of the day, medical care is the most important factor when reviewing a place like this, and I must implore people to avoid this place for the sake of good health. read more

Stopped in here about a month ago to take care of a nasty cut on my ankle and a urinary tract infection that were conveniently (/very inconveniently) happening at the same time. The facility was easy to find and very clean. There was a little bit of a wait as it was quite busy that day, my only gripe and obviously not within their control. I was seen by Dr. Touchet and she was attentive, thorough and very kind. Once I was in a room , the nurse and doctor were in-and-out alternately as though through a revolving door- it all seemed very efficient. I found Dr. Touchet to be very knowledgeable and feel that I received care equivalent to what I would have gotten at my primary care doctors office (but I have recently moved and their office was too far to get to in this acute situation... hence the visit to the walk-in) Would recommend this location to anyone in a pinch in need of this type of service. read more

My husband went there first for the flu. We were impressed first off the cleanliness and modern decor of the waiting area. They have a nice little coffee/water station, good array of newer magazines that aren't all worn, and my favorite is the screen with the wait list on it so you're not sitting there guessing what number you are. The receptionist was nice and the best part WE ONLY WAITED LIKE 5 MINUTES !!! It was fabulous and we had some gorgeous blonde doctor who was so nice and took her time with him. We were in and out within 30 minutes max. Only issue is we had mass health and they don't take that so it's $169 but we did it anyway and it was SO worth it. A week or so later I ended up having an issue, Vertigo, and went to south shore hospital to try to save money since they take our health insurance only to wait 7hours and never got to see a doctor. (at south shore hospital). The next day we decided to just pay the $169 for us to go to this urgent care because we had such a good experience last time and it once again, had like no wait, was so easy and quick and I would rather go here than the E.R anytime, even if I have to pay the $169. SO WORTH IT !!! QUALITY !! read more

Went to this urgent care facility and they refused to see me for a health issue related to antibiotic use after a hospital stay. I was not treated nicely and after telling me they would see me, they had me come in fill out paperwork and then a second person came out and was rude and said they wouldn't see me. It was such poor service and treatment and I was shocked. I went to a different urgent care not associated with AFC and it was a completely different experience. Thank god I received the medical care I needed and avoided having to go to an emergency room. I would never go back there again. I will also contact the attorney general's office about this. read more

Yelp to my rescue again!! This was my first experience with this urgent care and I found this place very clean, organized and professional - what more do you need ? I got terribly sick over the weekend so took off from work on Monday to go to an urgent care. I jumped on to the Yelp, found this place with good reviews. I made an appointment online to reserve a spot (Highly recommend doing that so it saves you some time). As soon as I walked in I was greeted by wonderful front-desk staff, was asked if I made an appointment online and I was made sure that I had minimum wait time. The paper-work was pretty basic (1-2 pages), and a 15 minute wait got me right in. The nurse was right in to see me and got the basic tests done. The doctor (Dr. Kelly Lannutti) wasn't far behind her. Both were very competent and thorough. Dr. Kelly was very clear in her explanation and was very patient to answer the concerns I had. I was in and out within an hour. I would without hesitation recommend this urgent care. I can confidently say this one is absolutely the best in south shore. read more

I would steer clear of here. I went in for a painful lower back and it was a total waste of my time. I could barely walk and it hurt to sit and move even slightly. The woman at the front was very nice. I saw a nurse practitioner, some guy with long hair, that kept calling my "hun" (a bit sexist) and kept asking what I wanted them to do for me... Um, I came there to see what YOU suggest. When I mentioned I wanted to rule out kidney issues he looked at me confused and asked me "why are you worried about that?". I always thought lower back pain could be related, but again, I am no doctor! I also mentioned I had pinched my sciatic nerve in the past and the pain was a very sharp pain like when that happened before, but he seemed to be barely listening to me. He was less than helpful and didn't even do any sort of exam on me. I got a shot of an NSAID (anti-inflammatory) in my butt and was told it was probably just a "muscle strain". I've had muscle strains before... I work a very physical job at an animal hospital... this was not my usual on-the-job-soreness or pulled muscle. The NSAID shot did absolutely nothing to help ease any pain so I ended up going to the ER where I got a full exam, a possible diagnosis that made sense (potential bulging disc that pinched my sciatic nerve) and some pain meds. I may need an MRI in the near future. The only helpful part of the visit was the prescription for valium, which may help relax my muscles a little bit. Hopefully. read more

I did my physical yesterday for travel nursing and had my PPD read. You cannot even understand what the PA wrote on the physical form. It is not my priority for this complaint. They wrote the incorrect date for reading the PPD, which made it seem as if it was read before the time frame, and I had to inconveniently come back today to have the correct date recorded. I was greeted by the unprofessional secretary with the long false eyelashes, "what is it now." They emphasized that my employer had already called about the PPD and Physical, as if to say you are bothering us. I met a man outside while getting my license, hastily getting to his car while verbalizing loudly to me, " they are very unprofessional, especially the one sitting to the left, I made sure that I got back my fifty dollars." They could not even rewrite the PPD information on a new form, giving the excuse that the person who read it yesterday is not at work today. They wrote a 2 over a 1 which makes it look so tacky. This is the first time that I came to this urgent care center, and I have not had a good experience with them. The front desk staff should be the face of the establishment and they are the opposite. They are unwelcoming, rude and unprofessional. This is a place where the public is coming to get help, so attitudes need to change. The customer is the priority. I will make sure that this facility gets flagged by my employer, and that they hsend no one else here. read more

I thought I had tonsillitis, so I took a day off from work and called CVS minute clinic to make sure they can help before I went and sat there waiting for howeverlong. They said they could check for strep, but when I asked if that is the same as tonsillitis, they were not sure. So forget that. I jumped on yelp and found this place, which is actually closer to home than CVS, and they answered the phone quickly, and said "of course!" they could help with tonsillitis. I went over, was in and out within an hour (I think it was a lot less, but I was feeling pretty gross and woozy). Had my script sent to Target, just a few minutes down the street. He was fantastic at his job. I was out within 15 minutes minus 1 pretty good size piece of wood. I would recommend this location to anyone seeking ER type care.
