Once in a room the process was rather quick, vital signs, history, treatment plan, procedure, patient education and discharge. The staff's character and personality is where they excelled. The staff recognized that there was pain and anxiety and was able to deal with that while making the patient feel comfortable. I have never been to a clinic and seen that kind of great service. They also have reasonable cash prices as well.

As a result, I contacted the Veterans Administration Community Care line for prior authorization and was provided a referral number (which covered 100% of my visit) for a VA " In -Network" service provider ( American Family Care, Enterprise , AL. ) under the Veterans Administration Missions Act of 2018. After arriving and completing the required documents, I provided the receptionist a copy of my VA identification card and referral number as provided by VA. Approximately Ten (10) minutes later,. the receptionist called me up and requested a debit or credit number to be placed on file for my respective visit. I informed the receptionist that my visit was fully coveted by the VA, and that I only had in my possession my VA ID Card and the referral number from Community Care that guaranteed full coverage for my visit. As instructed by Community Care, I also informed the receptionist that I was seeking care under the Missions Care Act of 2018. The receptionist then stated, " Without a debit or credit card being placed on file, you cannot been seen." I immediately called Community Care regarding this issue, and was again instructed to tell the receptionist my visit was covered at 100%, and was instructed to give her their number (877-881-7618) for verification purposes. After being denied a second time, I requested to speak with a supervisor regarding the issue, and provided her with the same information as received by from Community Care. The supervisor stated the same, informing me ,"It is AFC's policy to deny patient care if the patient does not provide a debit or credit card to be placed on file." It was at this point, I left the establishment and called Community Care for an alternate In- Network service provider. I later received a new referral number for Ivy Creek of Enterprise, AL. I provided the receptionist at Ivy Creek my VA ID card and referral number(which she verified by calling the aforementioned phone number), and I was processed, treated, and released within Thirty (30) minutes after my arrival time. It is my opinion, that American Family Care fail to fulfill their service agreement as an In -Network Service Provider for the VA. Due to the fact that AFC's local policies conflict with how outside care is obtained under the VA Missions Act of 2018, and feel they should removed for the Veterans Administration list of In -Network providers. As a Veteran who has faithfully served this country for over Two Decades (Four Campaign Stars), I was denied care when I needed it the most. The allergic reaction I was experiencing could have easily turned deadly, but in lieu of being treated, I was repeatedly denied care (due to local policy) after completing the steps required by VA Community Care to be seen by an In Network provider. It was apparent that life, limb, or eyesight doesn't matter to this facility. As a result, I feel AFC should be removed from the VA''s Community Care list of In-Network providers and recommend that if you are a Veteran interested in being seen under the Missions Act of 2018, that you DO NOT USE this VA In-Network facility. This…read morereview is based on multiple hospitalizations due to complications from a hip fracture, culminating in an ER visit yesterday. These visits range from the end of December 2024 through 25 August 2025. This has nothing to so with surgery itself, but the med surg wards I was on and the ER. I was rarely treated courteously by nursing staff. At one point I was brought to a room from recovery and they pulled the catheter half way out transferring me to the bed and REFUSED to do anything about it because my nurse was busy. I'm fresh from surgery and never saw a nurse for well over an hour and then had to be given medication for days so I could pee because it damaged my urethra. I rarely got meds on time (critical meds) yet when they found out I had my own, I was literally attacked by a nurse trying to take them away from me. I threatened to call the police and have her arrested for assault. This is medical so many of you might not understand but I'm steroid dependent and have been since 2010. I will literally die if I don't get them but pharmacy, hospitalists and nurses thought it was no big deal and no reason I needed to be on a schedule or get them in a timely manner. One hospitalist actually told me to quit worrying about it, that my adrenals would kick back in before I died...AFTER 15 years of not making my own cortisol? This was after somebody decided to discontinue them altogether. I'm supposed to respect them? This was a fight every single time. There were many times, if I hadn't had my own, I would have gone into an adrenal crisis. I had a Pure Wick each time and they constantly let the canister overflow and wouldn't change me when I got wet. I even developed a bedsore because I was left so wet for days. Then they'd get mad at me for being wet saying I was drinking too much (and gee had IVs running too) but apparently it's easier to tell me to quit drinking water than to empty the canister or give me dry pads when they got wet. So called hospitalists had major god complexes and I was treated horrendously by them too (there were 2 exceptions that were decent) telling me yeah, I'm complicated but they don't need to consult an endocrinologist because they know it all anyway. That they knew more about my body than I did etc etc. I'd need a book to write about all that happened during 3 surgeries/hospitalizations. BTW...Flowers was just as bad. There is no humane knowledgeable care available in Dothan on med-surg floors. Dr. Tacket was an exception and was awesome and there was another when I was in overnight once, but I don't remember his name unfortunately. The rest of them were obnoxious know it alls who couldn't stand for me to know my own meds and body etc. Anyway, I went to the ER yesterday and was treated worse than a dog turd on the side walk with the immediate assumption I was a drug seeker. I was put through 4 hours of absolute humiliation culminating in being told I was going to have to use a bedpan IN THE HALLWAY WHERE EVERYONE COULD SEE ME. I wasn't worthy of dignity apparently. I told my family to come physically restrain me if I ever said I was going to the ER again. I may be old and broken but my mind is sharp. After everything I've seen I have to wonder how many deaths from "natural causes" are really the result of med errors, neglect etc. Take this review as warning. I am a retired RN but would be ashamed to admit it with what I've seen of nurses since December. Yes, there have been a few shining lights here and there but overall every single hospitalization and ER visit has been nothing short of hell.

Her internal bleeding went undiagnosed for about eight hours despite glaring signs. Once imaging was finally ordered and active internal bleeding was confirmed, surgery was delayed for roughly seven more hours. In the meantime, the doctor ordered mass blood transfusion in an improper way that worsened her condition instead of stabilizing her, while failing to move the central line that was improperly placed and that the radiologist recommended be repositioned. HCA Healthcare has faced no consequences, and there is no way for people researching physicians through the Florida Department of Health (DOH), the medical licensing board, to see what happened to my daughter. Because she was 25, unmarried, and had no children, Florida's 'Free Kill' law strategically blocked me from pursuing legal recourse to ensure the hospital and its physicians are held accountable so the harm does not continue.
