Absolutely nothing and that's the experience I got when booking with Sea Sydney Cruises. I pre arranged my trip as there is limited room on this 52 foot motor cruiser and you want to make sure you have a spot. The boat picks up at the Commisioners steps, down on the Quay, and as soon as all 10 people arrive for the trip, the boat is off and headed around the harbor, pointing out all the sights along the way. This is the perfect way to see the city of Sydney! Your ticket price includes beverages ( beer, wine or soft drinks), lunch ( on the day I was there is was a 3 course experience with a shrimp appetizer, salmon and steak with salad as the main course and cheese and fruit for dessert). They serve lunch while anchored in one of the bay's and you can swim or kayak while there as well so be sure to bring your swimsuit. The boat has a sun bathing area in the front, a shady area up top, and cushioned seating in the back to enjoy the weather and the views. There is also a bathroom on board so no need to worry about that! The staff is terrific. Terry was our guide and host and he was knowledgeable, personable and at times, I felt like I was out on his personal boat, so how cool is that? My trip lasted about 4 hours and as we pulled back into the dock, I was sad to see it end, This, truly, was one of the highlights of my visit to Sydney!

What a great evening - we loved it!…read more We booked a Sunset Dinner Cruise prior to leaving the US for our NZ/AU cruise. There were 4 of us in total. We arrived to the marina early, went to the Captain Cook Cruises desk and got our tickets, then had cocktails outdoors nearby. As the line to board got longer, we finally joined it. Once they opened up for boarding, the line went very fast. As we had window seating, there were no worries and we got a fantastic table location. Drink and dinner orders were taken right away. Bread was served shortly and it was really good. We asked for more and they brought more. Dinner was excellent as was the harbor cruise. After passing the Opera House, we docked near the International Cruise Terminal and most passengers got off. There was one more stop that some stayed aboard for. We stayed. As this point, the sun was setting and the skyline was lighting up with building lights. We went to the top, open deck with fresh drinks. Some of us sat on the deck chairs and us shutter-bugs moved about the deck taking pictures from both sides. We got some amazing shots. The dock we ended at was not the one we started at and we knew ahead of time. We disembarked and grabbed an Uber back to our hotel. I've read a lot of reviews about this cruise. Thanks to the guidebook I managed to find a tour to the blue mountains in a small group…read more Unfortunately, the tours will only start from most of the hotels in the CBD area and I had to purposely stay overnight at a cheaper hotel to join this tour which starts at 7am (timing depends on pick up locations). The downside of this tour is some customers arrive late or didn't show up which took a little bit of the time. First stop, our tour guide as well as driver brought us to Featherdale wild life park. Managed to reach here before 9am (their opening hours) so we managed to feed the Kangaroos, pet the Koala and Wombats, take quick pictures of the animals in different habitats and shop for a bit. Next of was the scenic world where we experienced the railway, cableway, walkway (trail) and skyway. The tour guide leaded us for the cableway and skyway which helped us in maximizing our time there. He then gave us food vouchers (that was included in the tour package) for our lunch and told us to be back around 2 hours later. After scenic world, he brought us to echo point and Leura village. Echo point, you can take pictures of the blue mountains and shop for souvenir while Leura village you can stroll along the shops to sightsee or go to a cafe to enjoy baked goods and cup of coffee. I managed to do both. Time management was definitely an important factor here. We then headed to the Olympic park where we could take picture and use the restroom and along the way he gave us a brief history of the places we passed by. Our last stop was at the river cruise from homebush bay. It took us 1 hour to get back to Circular Quay wharf and the tour guide bid goodbye there. Price wise, it was on the expensive side ($145) but with the code guidebook, you could save $10-$20. The tour ended exactly at 6pm (including the cruise ride to circular quay). Definitely recommend this tour group to other tourists :)

This time, in addition to seeing Sydney, my friend and I did the Blue Mountain excursion, this being a priority. The concierge at the hotel suggested the Blue Mountain tour with FJ tours since it was all inclusive. It was a full day-we left in the morning and did not get back until after dinner. We made a stop at the Featherdale Wildlife Park which was wonderful-we were able to see the wallabees and the kangaroos up close, pet them and feed them. We then went on to Leura for lunch, [Loaves and the Dishes] Echo Point for a photo op and then on to the 3 Sisters. We had rides on the Scenic skyway and the day ended with a cruise dropping us off either at Darling Harbor or Circular Quay. A great day and well worth the time. I would recommend.

We wandered down and found they actually did 2 hour dinner cruises and had one leaving in 10 minutes. Perfect. We boarded the Southern Swan and sat back to enjoy the sights and sounds of Sydney harbor on this fabulous 1922 timber barquentine. The crew was lovely, very helpful and full of information about the harbor and the sites we were passing (Governors House, sharks island, Sydney Opera House etc) The food was very good, better than most dinner cruises on much newer ships. Some sausage or spinach and feta triangles as appetizers were passed around first. Three different salads, two casseroles, one a mild chicken curry and another lentil and veggie one for the vegetarians - all gluten free served buffet style. Brownies for dessert. Drinks were available for an additional cost at the bar or as part of a package. The best bit, should you choose, you can even help raise sails (hubby did that) or even climb the masts. A great way to spend the evening. Thanks to Captain Pete, Howard our host and the wonderful crew members who are mostly international visitors who sign on for up to three months, volunteering for room and board onboard. My wife and I just completed the nearly 5500 Km trip from Perth to Sydney. This is definitely not a…read moretrip for anyone in a hurry, but it's an opportunity to meet new people, make new friends and enjoy delicious meals, wines and cocktails while enjoying what is essentially a land cruise. Without question, the entire train staff from embarkation in Perth and throughout the entire trip was friendly, helpful and efficient. We enjoyed the extra space and perks of Platinum Service, but Gold Service should please just about anybody except a claustrophobic. Meals in the Queen Adelaide dining car were varied and delicious, and the staggered seating and advance reservation service meant no standing in line at any time. On our journey nearly all passengers were Australians. For many it was their first trip on The Indian Pacific, but there were also many repeat passengers as well. While the scenery isn't like that of the Canadian Rocky Mountains or the Sierra Nevada, it's unlike anything else on this planet; it's 100% pure Australia. Short stops in Kalgoorlie, Cook, Adelaide, and Broken Hill are less than inspiring, but guides at these stops are locals doing their best to show off their local history and community with great pride. If relaxing rail travel is on your bucket list, don't miss this great travel treat. By the way, the few stops are best enjoyed traveling westward as the scheduled arrival times are more convenient. Also, you get the added benefit of moving your timepiece backward instead of forward over the span of the time zones! Last (although not taken advantage by us), you can even arrange to bring your car along in special auto carriers on the end of the train.
