I had a terrible experience at Adventure Driving School. I took the course a year ago and I only ended up finishing it about 2 months ago. It's a sketchy looking place but the price was low so that's why I went there. The in-class part was okay. It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible. They made me wait 3 weeks before I could start booking in-car sessions. First off, they will only do 2 hour sessions so you get it done in 5 sessions except that there is ONE in-car instructor, and he would not do a lesson on weekends or after 4 pm on a weekday. So I had to miss school every time because there was no way I could do a 2 hour lesson before 4. Next, they make you wait 2 weeks in between each lesson which I don't understand but nevertheless, if it had worked out that way, it would have taken 5 weeks, including the driving school, 10 weeks. It did not go as planned. He kept cancelling. 4 times he cancelled and the next available date was 3 weeks away. I had already had my G1 for a year so I could take my test already, but I wanted to get all the training and practice done before I took it (cause I didn't want to fail obviously), and the date I could take the test kept getting pushed back and pushed back. I am not entirely sure what the guideline is but I believe if I had to cancel a lesson I would have to give 24 or 48 hours notice. He would give like 3 hours notice, saying that he wasn't coming in today so I would have to call his secretary and reschedule. This happened so many times! There was one time where the secretary had said that he worked on Boxing Day and made me an appointment that day. I had asked if that was okay, since it was a holiday. And she said oh yes he always works on that day. What happened? He cancelled and said he wasn't going to work on that day. I don't even know if him and his secretary even talked because she clearly never knew when he was going to work. Except all he did was talk to someone (who I was assuming his secretary) on his phone the whole time that I was in the car with him so maybe they did. Anyway, it took me 10 months from the time I took the in-class course to the time I finished the in-car. And it was only FIVE sessions... My instructor was not kind, patient, or cooperative. He overreacted, lectured and was unreliable. I'm not sure what the rules are but on the last lesson he made me take a mock test and he said that if I failed the test I would have to pay and redo the in-car lessons. I passed, thank goodness but if I had failed I don't know what I would have done. I already paid for the course, I already took all my hours in-car, I don't think they can make me do it all over again. My friends went to different driving schools and they said that they did the mock test but it was just to see how ready you are for the real test, they didn't have to take it again if they failed, and some of them did. So... I would highly recommend not going here. My sister is currently in Aapex driving school and she says she loves it and her instructor is very nice. She has done 3 1 hour sessions in 2 weeks already and they are great at working with her schedule. Don't do what I did because it was cheap, pay the extra money and go somewhere where you'll have a good experience and it isn't a nightmare, it will be totally worth it. read more
