Pitches are hidden away and branch off from bumpy walking paths and are surrounded by woodland. The pitches are so far apart from each other that you'll often forget you have neighbours. An awesome option which I tried for the first time here, as we were only staying for one night, are the pre-erected tents. It felt like a bit of a cop out but was an absolute godsend. When we arrived, we were shown to the load/unload point nearest to our spot. Depending on where you're located on the site, you then use their huge wheelbarrows to lug your gear to your spot which could be anywhere from a 1-6 minute walk-ish. Most, if not all of the pitches come with a handmade canopy area and some kind of hand crafted seating arrangement / bench area which can vary in quality dependant on what you've paid. The pre-erected tent that we paid for came with EVERYTHING. A washing up area with water butt, bowl, washing up liquid, tea towels; a kitchenette type arrangement with gas, cooker (2 hobs), kettle, and a big cupboard which contained all your kitchen utensils and cutlery etc. Oh, and a coolbox too! Although it was a bit knackered due to squirrels trying to break and enter... We also had a real charming dining area with a big table and benches which where made by the owner's son. SO impressed. Additionally as part of this package we got a fire pit/grill thing so we obviously had a BBQ for dinner and breakfast. Fuel is available to buy from the reception for a decent price. Everything here is GREEN - they really pride themselves on being environmentally friendly. They're big on recycling and enthusiastic about respecting your surroundings. Some of their rules can be a bit confusing, mainly if you've had a few beers before visiting the bathroom... There are two toilets in a cubicle. One for 1s and another for 2s! Also no flush, just a jug, and some sawdust. Totally fine though. On site there's a little cafe which is only open at certain times, I didn't get chance to visit but seemed lovely. There's a communal washing up point for the visitors who don't have their own, and a freezer for you to help yourself to ice packs for your cooler - they've really thought of everything to make your stay as easy as possible! The owners are great, too. Dead interesting characters and so friendly and helpful. And they own goats, dogs, and chickens! Think they might be my idols. Living the dream.

Shop with everyday essentials, including beer, wine and scrumpy :- Padstow is a mile walk along some fields.and then pavement. Quite a steep walk down so to get back you can get the bus from the old train station. The 555 stops at the entrance to the park. This bus goes all the way to Bodmin. At the end of the field is a Tescos. The toilet and shower blocks are spotless. Grounds are well maintained. Children's play area. Dog field.

It is situated up on the cliffs above the small broad haven beach, the otherside of bosherston lilli ponds. Its has so much charm and beauty. A couple of seconds walk and your on the nation park coast path and greeted by the most wonderful views, the best in wales along side the views of the preseli mountains as reviewed on this site. It is near millitary ground st Martins, but they are hardly ever using it, there is a little station box on the coast path that if it was in use would have a barrier down etc. But this is never the case. The campiste has a basic toilet block with 3 toilets for each, but no showers. This is no problem realy and olny adds to the natural and rustic charm. And having the sea so close, your always in it, so a salty wash is always best!, But if a shower is in need of, there is a shower around the back of the toilet block in the national trust car park that is just over the hedge to the campsite. This is a only cold though and meant more for a rinsing after being in the sea. The owners who own the most stunning farm house and out buildings that have been converted and can be rented, are extremly friendly. and do regular checks of the campsite and facilities. They walk past, give a wave, and have a chat. A realy friendly family ortientated place. One time i was there, there owner made me stop putting the awning of my camper van and made me watch the setting sun with him as it dissapeared over the disstant horizon. Perfect! The views are breath taking.. and the campsite at night is beautifully quiet.. This really is heaven! hearing the sea crashing, and watching the stars that are mega mega bright above, whilst sat in the doorway of the awning with a drink in hand and haveing a good chat with friends!!! yep, sure is heaven!

They look expensive. There is an outside pool, that I didn't have time to try, not scared of shrinkage, (honest). It's next to the bar and takeaway food outlet. The kitchen also prepares the food for any bar customers that want a meal. The weather was still lovely so I sat out on the covered decking and had a lovely chicken burger to go with my pint. As the name of the site suggests, there is a river running along the side of the site and it's a pleasant place to walk the dog. The children have a games room with a pool table in it and coin slot entertainment machines. The toilet and shower block is very well kept and the pitches are all well spaced out. Good wee site for stopping off at on the tour of Britain.

Welcoming very friendly, rates very good and the site facilities are perfect for a campsite. Little social club with amazing home made food at great prices. Take away facility. Swimming pool. Little shop for necessities. Definitely will be coming back. Great location and a small walk from the park and ride into Plymouth city centre, and a 2 or 3 min drive to the A38.

The roof top bar has reasonably priced food, basic entertainment and beautiful views out to sea. While we we there they used the large playing field to put an absolutely massive bouncy castle in. They also have a few security guards wandering around who are courteous which is a nice peace of mind. Only very slight negatives here are that the pitches are relatively closely packed together so if you have small kids and have a noisy pitch next door or vice versa it may be a challenge. However, it's really a lovely site in a lovely location and that shouldn't put you off. Some reviews mention the proximity of the cliffs but they are at the end of a long walk and a beach so unless you aren't watching your children for ages is not a problem at all. Take your fishing rods as the beach is great for Mackerel fishing so good to spend some time fishing with the kids. People were catching loads without effort.

My parents sited their caravan here by chance, we will now camp there for several weeks and many weekends through out the year. Owned by fantastically friendly people too. Build camp fires where you wish, play in the river, go horse riding or on picturesque walks through and around the Doone Valley. I'm a photographer / walker and I absolutely love it here, so does my other half and our 4yr old daughter as well as my parents.

We were totally shocked when we arrived at out holiday caravan for our four day stay. A 10 berth caravan for the two of us with TV, DVD player, CD player, microwave etc etc. and, more to the point, clean. As I have said, surrounded by trees and greenery. It was great, at dusk, to see the bats flying around and, as a special treat, a flypast by an owl one evening. I cannot comment on the bar, swimming pool, restaurant or entertainment as we didn't use any. However, a quick view into the covered swimming pool, it looked really nice.
