I have been going here for 4 years now and I am always pleased with the doctors. Dr Natividad and the PA always spend ample time answering questions and they feel very thorough in their work. It is nice they have a quest representative there to get bloodwork. I will say it is best to call the office directly to schedule instead of zocdoc. I have booked a few times through zocdoc and the office always calls to clarify because zocdoc incorrectly displays the information. read more

Very disappointed in service. Went to Schaumburg office for sleep apnea. Went thru process but did not cure the apnea. Sent to MW Sleep Dental for an appliance. Medicare will not approve sleep report because Dr. at Advent approved repot not sleep Dr. Waiting now 4 weeks to get a revised report. No answer. Very bad customer service. read more

Unfortunately despite booking Doctor Natividad, I was schedule with a PA, who was perfectly pleasant but not a Doctor and not why I booked an appt. When asked about it, I was told ZocDoc isn't always accurate, which seems like a problem to me. The office space itself and signage was questionable. In the doctor's room, there is a sign that I believe alludes to "we prescribe marijuana" without saying it. I do not have the slightest problem with marijuana but the obscure and unprofessional signage does not make one feel confident in the practice. There's also a sign advertising $20 B-12 injections for "weight loss and energy", which feels a little questionable as well. Lastly, there's a giant poster advertising NutriMetrix, which is a supplement/diet aid(think Skinny Tea) company that is a division of Market America, which is a Multi Level Marketing (MLM) company, which has NO place being in a doctor's office in general, let alone the room you're receiving care in. read more

Dr. Natividad has been my PCP for about 12 years. I moved almost 2 hours away 7 years ago and I still drive to see her. She actually spends time with you and answers your questions. I've tried 2 other PCPs that didn't compare at all. I feel completely comfortable around her. It's fairly easy to get an appointment and the office staff are pretty helpful and friendly. There were a few years where the office staff weren't great, but I haven't had any issues in recent memory. PS - don't use the patient portal to communicate, it's much better to call. read more

Update: Lately things here have improved. Staff seems like they're trying hard to be more courteous. But sometimes they've lost my urine specimen or not put it out & I've had to come back to repeat it. Still have some problems with the phones & the patient portal is useless for communicating with Dr Natividad (it would remove a big barrier if she'd use it). Also the building is no good if you have an injury affecting mobility as you have to enter from Lee Hwy to avoid the stairs, which involves going steeply uphill from the parking lot. Also no benches to wait for a ride in the back. But Dr Natividad herself is still great. read more

Let's get this straight, I absolutely love the nurse practitioners, and doctor Natividad. They are absolutely lovely and they provide exceptional customer service during your appointment. With that being said, their staff are absolutely horrendous. They are rude, they give you vague answers when asking questions about your account/records/results, and they have the audacity to get snippy with you, and give you attitude when you ask for clarification. They take the LONGEST time to process paperwork, and that's if they don't forget about you all-together. In all my years in doctors offices, I have never had such a horrible experience. I also got sent to collections because they refused to provide my insurance company with the correct information. My mom and I have been seeing Dr. Natividad for over a decade and we have both been delighted with her care, demeanor and responsiveness. The scheduling staff, nurses, aides and even the lab folks they work with have been terrific. I have particular difficulties with prescriptions because of the timing of the long trips that I must take for work and they are extremely helpful. Staff acts like you're imposition to their day when you ask questions. They have an, I don't care attitude, and aren't afraid to let you know it. Dr. Natividad has never responded to my patient portal message. I started seeing someone else there and now I realize they just want you to come in for another visit for more money as they won't respond to your questions on the portal. My insurance covers annual exams but this practice billed me for a visit within my annual exam so I have a bill for the first time ever for my physical. The lab had screwed up my blood draws at least two times requiring me to go back to get blood re-drawn. I'm done with them... It's long overdue. read more

One time I had severe back pains and wanted to see my regular PCP who has been working with me on this matter. The staff just would not let me see the doctor since I did not have an appointment. I even went to the office and waited in line to see if there is an opening but they did not let me see her :( I later called my doctor to complain and she had no clue I had been waiting to see her for over an hour. I've been going to Advent Health for about 5 years now, and all of the doctors/nurses/PAs have been fantastic throughout. I never feel rushed or like I'm a burden on their schedule like I have at other doctor's office. That said, their office staff is consistently bad. It's gotten better -- they're no longer flat out rude and it doesn't feel like your calling is a chore. But it's still not great. I'm writing this while I'm on hold trying to talk to their office. It's been 10 minutes on hold so far (and this hold music may send me to the mumbling room). The pre-recorded message asks me to rate them on Yelp, so here I am. This being on hold is consistently the case, no matter the time of day. I just need to pick up a prescription -- one I have to pick up in person monthly, and call to ask every time to get it filled. So I'm spending at least 2 hours a year listening to this hold music. They do have an online service where I could submit a refill request, but they "don't check it," I was told. All this could be avoided if they would use that (and it'd free up their phone lines, reducing waits, hold music, and likely the attitude that led the former staff members to be so irritable!). It would also prevent me from having to find a spot to call during work hours (and not announcing my medication needs to the whole open office). I know that doctor's offices get benefits for offering an online portal, but whether they should be receiving said benefits is... doubtful. I will say that Dr. Gorske consistently responds. If the doctors can respond, why can't the front desk staff? My only other comment is the woo-woo stuff they're marketing in the waiting area. It looks pretty questionable when a medical group promotes/allows promotion of things like essential oils. read more

The front desk staff here is completely incompetent and rude. Ashley put me on hold and said there was one person ahead of me. Then after 3 minutes picked up and said there were 2 ppl ahead of me. I said okay but that's not what you said a while ago. She said "well you hung up".(I had not). Held for another 10 minutes and then realized I'd rather go to urgent care that deal with this band of misfits. The doctors are fine - the new office is not as nice as the old on on Fairfax drive. They also couldn't remove a simple skin tag - something they'd easily done 10 years ago. I see that someone else mentioned that when Dr. Guthrie left the practice went downhill. Dr. Guthrie was the best and no one here is on her level of providing care, empathy, professionalism. The staff from the old practice were much more competent and friendly too. The only reason I have to still deal with this place is to try and get in on same day but now that it seems impossible to even get them to answer a call as an existing patient, it's pointless. read more

We experienced a billing error which the doctor's office acknowledged but were never able to make contact with the 'so-called' accounting department. I really like Dr Natividad. She listens, does not rush, and is thoughtful about treatment. What bothers me and the reason why I'm thinking about looking for another primary care is that it's impossible to get an appointment with her if you're sick and need to see a doctor within 1-2 days. You will be routed to a nurse - and for telehealth appointments, you will be told that the appointment is with Dr Natividad when you book and then [surprise!] it's actually with a nurse. read more

The staff are the worst. Even through Dr Natividad is the best doctor I have ever met, I can't see her anymore because the staff is rude, condescending, and never do what they are suppose to do. For example, I needed a form faxed, the day I came in, I was told that the form would be faxed. I called two days later, form wasn't faxed but promised that the form would be sent, called the next day, form still not faxed over but would by end of day. 9 days later, I get a phone call telling me I need to pay $20 in order for them to send the form. Oh and $20 to pick up the form, all it needed was a doctor signature. No one ever mentioned they would charge that amount for a form that needs to be faxed to the insurance company. I paid my bill of $110.51 months ago. I continued to get notices that the bill was due via email, phone call, and text message. I contacted the office no less than 9 separate times to provide my receipt of payment from my Health Savings Account. The last I heard from them they said they'd research what happened and get back to me. Today, I get a collections notice in the mail. Are you kidding me?!?! I never heard back from them. Really appreciate this practice! They got me in 2 weeks before I had my physical with the PA to get my lab work done - literally never had another practice let me do lab work before being seen which used to mean three trips to the office - this time just twice (once for labs once for physical with lab reading) Got my labs done in less than 10 minutes - My physical with PA Powell was comprehensive with plenty of recommendations and investigating symptoms and overall health analyzation. I had surgery at Rollins St. facility on January 9, 2021. All preoperative testing was efficient and professional. All actions taken by Dr. Russell and his staff were efficient and professional after the surgery. Before the surgery there was a last-minute and significant time change (from 1:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. , when they requested I be there 3 hours prior).HOWEVER, on the day of surgery, while the pre-op was fine, and I presume the surgery too (since I was asleep, I don't know) the post op was a major disaster. The entire nursing team, although responsive and attentive, were collectively totally incompetent as regards basic nursing knowledge (couldn't hit a vein, didn't know how to attach the simplest of equipment). The room was interesting - (my wife said looked like a storage room before I arrived from surgery), door didn't open from inside, and monitoring equipment not functioning normally and correctly. I was ready to leave at 9:00 a.m. next day (which was confirmed by staff) and after 4-6 attempts to actually get this done, I removed the i.v. and ekg leads myself (which sent the nursing staff in, because it sent off an alert) and got (at last) the equipment I needed to be attached and left (finally). Great doctors, terrible receptionist staff. I have been going here for 6 years, and every time that I go back, I regret it every time. Dealing with the rude and obnoxious receptionist staff is not worth it. There is a gentleman that yells at people, gives customers a hard time, and is just plain out rude. The doctors I saw at this practice (Dr. Anne George and P.A. Lorraine Guthrie) were great! However the staff are extremely unprofessional, and thus this review is for you, awful front office! When you visit the office, they do not keep their private conversations private, instead they yell back and forth to one another. They have poor communication skills with patients and are hilariously rude. A little story about one interaction I had with them: I requested my medical records be transferred to my new physician, and was told it would cost 10 cents a page. I got a call from them a few hours later telling me it would be $16, confused, I asked how my brief medical history at their office (I had only been in for 3 visits) could fill 160 pages. I was told that I was wrong and there is no way anyone in the office would have told me 10 cents/page because they know better than that. I told her that wasn't the case as I had been told otherwise that day. She just responded, "I don't think anyone here would say that," essentially accusing me of lying. This is the only doc office that has ever required me to fill out the same forms, over and over, annually. I complain every year. I point out that it's makework for their clerical staff. On plus side--they said of nothing had changed, I could just sign and "we will fill the form out for you" So..progress? Ms. Gorske is the ideal healthcare professional. Her level of attention, patience, and medical knowledge is a rare combination which is surprising in this era of medicine. I have been a patient of Dr. Natividad for many years and hope I will always remain in her care. She is kind and caring but most of all she is a very knowledgeable professional. When necessary, she refers me to top specialists who she knows will take good care of me. Dr. Natividad also stays on top of the latest treatments, and while that may mean appropriate medications, it may also mean non-Rx medications and more practical solutions. Dr. Natividad is a great listener and pays attention to each individual patient and their needs. Front office staff have really stepped up their game and I find them to be friendly, responsive and helpful. Last visit I needed information on getting a bus to the Metro and staff even looked up the bus schedule for me -- that's going above and beyond! I have never experienced rudeness by the staff as described by other reviewers. The staff is generally helpful and polite. Dr. Natividad is one of the best doctors because she takes time to thoroughly evaluate patients. However she is very busy and my family often sees the nurse practitioner Margo Gorske. Margo is very knowledgable, personable and caring. Generally I am seen on time as scheduled as well as able to get same day emergency appointments with ease. I had hoped that with the practice changing locations, maybe there would be a change in staff or at least Dr. Natividad would maybe have more control over how her staff represents her practice. I should have stuck with my own advice. Not only has it been a huge challenge to ever get in touch with a doctor or a nurse, the office staff actually attempts to provide medical advice in lieu of following through with ensuring the doctor (or nurse) contacts the patient. Don't even get me started on being able to see anyone in the practice if I'm sick--I had given up on seeing Dr. Natividad due to her never being available, but I haven't even been able to see a nurse/one of her peers when sick. Furthermore, echoing my original review--the staff lacks any level of professionalism, kindness, or understanding--and expanding on that: YOU WORK WITH PEOPLE. PEOPLE--MOSTLY SICK PEOPLE--ARE YOUR CUSTOMER BASE. If you hate working with the patients--THE CUSTOMERS of the practice--then GET OUT OF THE CUSTOMER SERVICE BUSINESS. You have to answer the phone. You have to relay and address patient requests. You have to see patients on a daily basis. You have to have manners. You can't talk about the patient's medical issues to your co-worker (hello, HIPAA laws), and especially should have the better sense to do so while the patient is still in earshot. You can't fax the patient someone else's paperwork and then laugh about it when I call to let you know I received someone else's file including her social security number and lab results. It's not funny, and it's illegal, whether or not intentional. Please take more pride in your work. I have rarely encountered such poor customer service, manners, and tact in a business. I would think that with Dr. Natividad being so caring and kind that it would either rub off on her staff, or that she would at least have the forethought to hire people who effectively represent her. I'm not sure if the staff is under-trained, poorly educated on customer service, or just miserable in general, but regardless of the reason there is no excuse for one human to speak rudely to another human. At least do the bare minimum to be polite, even if it is fake. Dr. Natividad, I have tried on numerous occasions to speak with you directly regarding my patient chart as well as your staff. I'm not sure if you have not received the messages, or maybe are too busy to follow-up, but please be aware of the many reviews here and understand what your staff is doing to your business and professional image. I'm sorry, but I can no longer recommend your services to anyone, even with the disclaimer regarding your staff. First, even though Dr. Natividad has been my "GP" for three years, I have never been able to see her for a sick visit. What is the point of having a doctor if her staff won't allow you to see her when you are sick?! The three times I have called with something serious, the front desk staff members have said "just go to urgent care." If I wanted to go to urgent care, I would go to urgent care and wouldn't bother seeing a doctor who knows my medical history on a regular basis. I find this exceptionally frustrating and it is my main reason for finally leaving Dr. Natividad. I need a doctor that I can count on in the event of a non-ER medical ailment. Not to mention, insurance covers sick visits but does not cover urgent care visits. Secondly, other reviewers are accurate when describing the rudeness and unhelpfulness of the front desk staff. At no time should medical office staff make a patient feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. They talk about patients clearly enough for individuals in the waiting room to hear very personal information. They are there for social hour and that seems to be it. Once, they faxed me someone else's medical history and personal lab results. When I called to let them know, they said "sorry, that happens sometimes." It took 8 weeks for me to get a call back about my results that I had been waiting on at that time. Oh my goodness. Where to start? I will do my best to be chronological and factual: 1. Similar experience to others' with the arguing and nastiness while booking on the phone. 2. A kind welcome to the office and the usual forms. I'm hopeful. 3. After the weigh-in, they seemed to have no idea what I was there for. The room they expected to put me in "isn't big enough" for my exam, back to the waiting room while they prepared a different room. 4. Into the new room. It was dirty. I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt that those dark red smears were rust with the dust and the paper pieces behind the table. 5. The last patient's records were still readable on the screen in my room. Yikes! 6. When the phys. asst. came in, I mentioned this. She was all defensive that she didn't leave the info up. Well, that really wasn't the point. She leaves the room. 7. She did not have my records, just some printout that didn't have any of the info my specialists had been sending to them. I ask about the other info, she leaves the room. 8. When I told her that I was there for annual pap, she left the room. Came back and said that they would have to have the room set up. Didn't we just do that? Back into the waiting room for the third time I go! Now the man behind the desk is saying, "Oh YEAH, I made it HARD for the ladies in high school! Oh yeah!" Really? Dumbfounded as to how that would ever be in context while checking in a patient, female or otherwise. 9. I couldn't discuss a health issue with the phys asst without setting up another appointment. She leaves the room for the fourth time to ask about this, and then argues that she doesn't have enough time left to conduct the exam. 10. I have been going here for 15 years. I primarily saw Lorraine Guthrie whom I loved. And was completely shocked when I called and they said she was no longer there - no notification to patients. And just like the other reviewers the place has gone downhill. There have been many times that I have called in the morning to get a sick appointment and been told there is nothing available and to go to a clinic or the emergency room. So CVS Minute Clinic has been my second doctor. My husband keeps telling me to get a new doctor but I just hate change. The staff is awful. I have battling a mysterious infection and no one called regarding my test results. I call - only to be treated very rudely by the office worker. VERY RUDELY. All I wanted to do was speak to the nurse about my results. In fact, the nurse never did return my call. In addition to that, in a recent visit, one of the techs was taking my blood pressure while another tech came into the room and I kid you not, she made fun of her patient to the other tech - in front of me!!! She tried to be coy about it but it was clear she was ridiculing her patient. Unbelievable. In fact, just tried to call to get an appointment and all I get is an answering machine stating the office is closed - during business hours! I would never refer any of my friends to this practice. I thought I was crazy when I was dreading visiting the office after my phone conversation to set up the appointment. She was arguing with me and not helpful when setting the appoinment. I received the same treatment from the new RN and she ended up walking out on me and refusing to treat me! This practice used to be good, but it has gone downhill. I agree with the reviews below -- the doctors were always great but the staff very rude and indifferent to the patients -- but now even the docs are going downhill. Lorraine Guthrie, who was their awesome nurse-practitioner, left a few months ago and no notice was given to the patients. In fact, they still include her name on the after-hours voice mail message -- as if she hadn't gone. Meanwhile, Lorraine always took the time to ensure that she worked with patients on referrals to ensure that she only sent them to other practices that she thought did good work and who were within the patients' health plans. Now that she's gone, they don't even do that. You're on your own to figure out who you should see and they offer no guidance. It's a shame seeing the practice run into the ground. Dr. Natividad: is amazing !!! She is always helpful, listens, takes time with me, and genuinely cares about my well-being. She is busy, so it may take some time to get a call back. But she has helped me with major health concerns very effectively for years. I have to drive 45 minutes each way to see her. So she'd better be good, right?! Ha! Great bedside manner and very knowledgeable. The staff: can be hot or cold. They are under a lot of pressure so I try to give some leeway. I have spoken to a rude person now and then. That means I might have to call a couple of times to get what I need. Dr. Natividad is worth that little hassle. Also when I expressed how urgent things were, they definitely were more attentive and helpful. p.s. They just moved their offices in Nov. 2016 from Ballston to near VA Hosp Center. I've been a patient of Dr. Natividad's since 2012, and I want to say that the practice has improved dramatically in the last year. Like other reviewers I found the office disorganized and the waits long, and I found they were terrible at getting things like test results and prescriptions sent out. I stuck with them only because I liked Dr. Natividad. I was in this week for the first time in almost a year, and found things totally turned around. I only had to wait 5 minutes for my appointment. They're back up to (at least) two doctors and they have a nurse practitioner (who I saw as it was a short notice sick person visit), which they never had before that I remember. I mentioned to long-time receptionist Kelvin how well things seemed to be going, and he told me that a new management team was brought in a year ago. As far as I can see, that must be true, and what a difference it's made. Advent is back! I reserve one star because while they have a website with patient information in it, I think there may still be some issues with promptness when you're not actually at the office. I have a physical scheduled in March and will update this review then. read more

Visiting the AHG office for an appointment is a perfectly pleasant experience. The reception and nursing staff are competent, polite, and professional, and the waiting area and exam rooms are quiet and clean. Dr. Natividad is excellent and really listens and talks with you about your medical concerns. She provides immediate next-step actions and tries to get creative about more persistent problems. She has previously referred me to specialists - similarly responsive and creative in their problem solving - who have diagnosed medical issues that have thwarted other medical professionals for literally years. The NPs who make up the other care providers at the practice are kind and professional, but not always up to par for actively addressing serious or persistent concerns. Scheduling appointments was once a huge pain and reception staff were terrible about providing useful, responsive information. This has improved immensely, with staff now much more polite and responsive to patient needs and requests, even proactively working to accommodate more pressing cases. However...I have a significant problem with the practice's follow-up capacity - or lack thereof. Patient records on their portal are inconsistently updated, and retrieving lab results is like pulling teeth. In the last six months, I have had two appointments during which the doctor/NP ordered lab work. There is a lab right in the office, so it's super easy to get it done and out of the way immediately. The lab technicians are professional, polite, and capable, making the process itself relatively painless and quick. Retrieving lab results, however, is like pulling teeth. In the first case where this problem became evident, I waited a week following the initial appointment before I called to request an update on the lab results. I was told the results were in, but were waiting to be read by the doctor/NP and processed, and the nurse could not release the information in the meantime. I called repeatedly over the next three weeks, leaving messages with the receptionist, before I finally received my results. This time, I have called and written messages through the practice's medical Portal, and I have left multiple phone messages for the doctor. It has been six weeks since my initial appointment. I have even paid the bill for the lab work, but I still don't have any results. I was told by the doctor to wait for lab results before following up with the recommended specialist. After three weeks, I gave up on waiting and called to get an appointment - because of the delay, it could be until August before I actually see the specialist. And I still don't have any lab results. This medical issue is directly impacting my ability to function personally and professionally on a day to day basis, and nothing says "we don't care" like hearing nothing from the doctor despite every effort to follow up. I've been seeing Dr. Natividad for over 10 years. She is an awesome doctor who really takes the time to listen to you and make a plan for your health. The office staff has always been accommodating and do a good job of getting me in to see someone quickly, if needed. read more
