The initial service "seemed" very good - we urgently needed a completely new garage door & motor…read moreoutside of Corpus. The tech came out the same day, just before the holidays. There was some upsell and limited options for the door itself but that was OK given the short notice. However - the door stopped working within one month, the tech came out again & adjusted the sensors without charge but with grumbling. Another contractor had told us the rails were uneven, but when I asked this guy about it he brushed it off and said it was "fine" and "not a problem at all." Within five months the door quit working at all either manually or with the motor. Although it should still be on warranty with Primary, I called a local independent garage door repairman from Bishop to take a look at it. He identified multiple issues with the original install - the rails were 3" below level and putting strain on the door and cable, lower connections on the track were not done at the appropriate height, the wrong lightbulb was used, screws were loose, a part on the top of the motor which helps keep the belt on was not installed at all. Within about 45 minutes he was able to address all those those issues (though we are still missing that part that came with the new motor). I'm glad we addressed these issues before the new door itself failed. PS Owner says they "only changed springs." They put in an new garage door and new motor in addition to springs (over $3000 cost). Yes - the rails and tracks were there before the install. But when you install a new door & springs - you don't check to make sure the brand new door you just installed is properly aligned? And some of the problem was how the door itself was attached to the rails. Then I ask about the alignment of the rails instead of saying yes, that should be adjusted but it will cost more because it wasn't in the original scope of work, the tech just says it's 'fine' as it is? (although I consider, when the scope is to install a new garage door, making sure the rails are aligned IS part of the scope - anyway it took 15 minutes or less to adjust the height of the rails). It wasn't fine or it wouldn't have stopped working. Owner's response speaks for itself.

The gent I talked to on Friday took my name, address and phone number and said they'd be giving me a call Monday morning. He also quoted me on the price to replace one or both springs. They called Monday morning at about 9:00am and came right over. They sent a two-man team to do the job, which helped expedite the work. The two servicemen were very courteous and answered the questions that I had about why the spring broke and other questions I had about maintaining the system and about the springs replaced previously by a different business.
