This past week I received a phone call from Elizabeth w/White Oak (went…read moreto VM) informing me that I was to be dropped as a patient because of an overload at the clinic. Too many patients and not enough care givers. I called and spoke to Elizabeth but nothing could be done she said as that was the decision. WHY and how was that choice made? I am almost 73 and quite healthy so maybe I don't give them enough business or that I am just elderly. This facility has been where I have been going to for the last 30+ years first with Dr. & Cynthia Keys (amazing care providers) and then when ownership changed with Dr. Marie Hebert and Shannon a FNP (or PA). They both left the practice (surprise) and I was then informed (weeks ago) Rachel Hebert FNP would take over as my provider. Now I receive this surprising & distressful news just when I need to be taken care of. Has anyone else been notified about something like this? What a shoddy way to handle the precious healthcare of people.

In my opinion, Jeremy Hollingsead FNP-C is the most unprofessional and inept medical person that I have ever come into contact with!!! He spent 2 minutes with me and made an assumption about knee and wrote me off work. When I told the RN that I did not want to be off of work and asked her to have him come talk to me, she left the room. I could hear Jeremy, through the wall, yelling at her so I walked out to the door of his office and he started yelling at me. And, yes, I raised my voice to meet his tone/volume. What happened to talking to someone more than 2 minutes before making an assumption. The RN asked me to go back into the room. The next thing I know a supervisor came into the room and immediately started lecturing me. She didn't even takt the time to hear my side of the story! I think she was biased against me before she ever walked into the room! His attitude actually started in the waiting room. I was listing to a video on my phone. When he came into the waiting room, he snapped, "If you on your phone were not going to see you!!!" I replied, "I'm not on my phone, just listening to a video." He walked away and I followed. People like him should not be working in the health care profession!!! I will never return to Umpqua Urgent Care and risk being treated like that again!II

We were given a tour of the property as well as a complementary lunch at the on-site restaurant. We were very impressed with Kat and her wealth of knowledge and information, as well as some good old hand holding assistance with our questions and concerns. I had no idea there was such a variety of services among various properties, so definitely do your homework and ask those questions. We found the staff to be extremely knowledgeable and incredibly pleasant with a willingness to help that leaves you feeling like you're the favorite! We were touring for a relative but I left feeling like I wanted to move in. There is an elevator available. Every floor has it's own very clean and modern laundry room, free to residents. If you need assistance, no problem! There is a large secured private patio area with a locking gate that takes you to a paved path. A short walk in one direction takes you to Albertsons, a short walk in the other direction takes you to Walmart. They also offer you rides to take you shopping, so between walking or being chauffeured, who needs a car? There is also a well lit fitness room where you can pedal a bicycle or stroll on a treadmill. There is a Ladies Tea, card tables and a resident's pub is going to open inside the building. There is also an on site activities director, a theater, bistro room for a breakfast treat, a restaurant with a professional chef (my favorite part) who creates his own unique specials along with a menu. He assured us he can make any dish vegetarian. I was lucky enough to sample some of this food and it is very flavorful! We met so many nice people there. Along with learning about the other amenities, the decision to move in was made immediately, there were no red flags of any sort! I feel very secure with my loved one moving there. Some of the staff that work there had come by to see someone and were so impressed that they hired on. Everyone, especially the residents, seem very active and happy to be there.

When visiting The Landing I have always felt so welcomed and cared for. The leadership and what they have put into this building and their staff you can see it soon as you walk in. Everyone there you can see loves their job and the people they work for. You can see the tenants and their love for their homes there. There is always something going on to help the tenants keep busy and feel engaged. What a blessing this place is to our community!

After several discouraging experiences during this search, it was truly refreshing to speak with someone who so clearly and genuinely cares about seniors and their well-being. Jennifer's professionalism, kindness, and willingness to help -- even when there was no direct benefit to her own facility -- made a lasting impression on me. Other residents assured me that she would learn to love it as they had. They were right. My fears prompty vanished as I watched Mom gradually adapt and learn to love her new abode. Everyone at Bridgewood Rivers is friendly, kind, & caring. There are only about 40 residents when filled to capacity so they are all known by name. The food is ample and tasty. Various activities are offered including games, musical entertainment, movies & popcorn in the lobby, & short outings to the countryside, Coast, shopping, and Wildlife Safari. My mother, a retired Spanish teacher has even begun to teach Spanish to the residents twice a month. Bridgewood is not only a caring place but clean, comfortable & quiet too. Little considerations mean a lot, like asking if it's ok to turn a light on, or if they are warm enough, or simply asking do they need anything. These people are truly working together to create the best possible lives for those who reside here.
